I’ve been watching reactions on this song for 2 days straight now. This channel had shown up with different guests a few times. I can tell you really FEEL the song and want to share it. I could also tell the disappointment you had that your guest this time was not moved by the song in the way it obviously touches your soul.
The important thing about this performance is it really opened a lot of people's eyes to just how talented rock singers are. Lots of people just think it's a bunch of screaming in rock when in reality, it takes a very talented singer to be able to sing rock music really well. David brought a lot of respect to Rock singers. They aren't all as good as he is but singing rock is a lot harder than you think. ❤❤
Uhm i dont think people think rock is a bunch of screaming i mean rock is the most popular genre in america people think heavy metal is a bunch off screaming which is a different discussion and, heavy metal is a sub genre of rock but different enough to be considered its own thing
Nobody thinks Rock is a bunch of screaming, heavy metal they do. All those amazing rock songs from the 80's, who thinks that's screaming?? I don't think of Disturbed as rock singers honestly.
My mom was a Simon and Garfunkel fan. I heard all their music growing up. I played this when it came out. She got a tear, said he hit the feeling they were feeling when the original came out.
The movie is Old School. The original version of this song is in the movie Old School, but it's at the point where Will Ferrell is drowning after being hit with a tranquilizer dart. Dust in the Wind is being played at Blue's funeral. When Will Ferrell's character yells out " You're my boy Blue!"
The official LIVE version of A Reason to Fight has a very powerful message. I saw them for the first time in July and the crowd at my show had the same reaction as the crowd in the video which is... heartbreaking and terrible. I was one of the people bawling my eyes out due to my history. At the end of the song David Draiman had his head down in his arms and just sobbed for a minute.
To start - I'm old enough to remember the original. My fear, and the fear of my friends, was that we were on the edge of an apocalypse - zero population growth was something we worried about, and many of us made life decisions to avoid the "inevitable" of over population leading to mass starvation. The other fear was obviously war. The Vietnam war was on, and many believed mass nuclear destruction was inevitable. We grew up with war drills, hiding under our desks and pretending (to soothe our parents) that we believed it would help when the bomb fell. The Sound of Silence was an anguished cry for a world we were about to lose. I stumbled over this version about 6-7 years ago and lost my sh!t. Listened to it a million times, shared it with my friends, went down the rabbit hold to see who Draiman IS, and what else Disturbed might have produced that I would like. (For me, the answer was: Nothing.) I've come to believe this: Simon and Garfunkel wrote and sang this as a warning, a plea to wake up. Draiman sang it as a man in a rage because no one took it seriously. There's a third one that came out last year that I put up with these two: Geoff Castellucci's version. To me, Castellucci is mourning for what has been lost. I know there are a ton of other versions out there, but these are my three. It's one song for three moods, and each is itself and spectacular. If you haven't heard Geoff's, give it a listen. Better, give it a reaction. His musicianship is next level.
My brother died as a firefighter when the building collapsed on him. I got the news by phone and rushed in my car to my parents house. This song started playing on the radio. I had to pull off the road and completely broke. After about 30 minutes of crying I was able to continue driving. The song always reminds me of his death.
I love the Disturbed version of this song. Seriously good. Saw them in concert last summer and it was phenomenal. Seriously good. Just as amazing live.
This is very amazing the way he covered this really amplifies the meaning of the song if you're looking for more try Land of confusion it's another amazing cover and the video is insane
Hold to the Memories is another beautiful ballad. Absolutely love their new video release Don’t tell me featuring Ann Wilson, the ultimate rocker. Love their cover and animated video of Genesis’ Land of Confusion….favorites go on and on. I’d never even heard of the band until I accidentally discovered this video on TH-cam in 2020. Now a big fan.
I remember hearing this fkr the 1st time and was totally blown away at the interpretation and amazing vocals. I then saw this video which was the icing on the cake
Art Garfunkel "only" sang he did not write the songs. I understand that people thinking that he wrote the songs really annoyed Paul Simons. Great singing though! I love this version from Disturbed.
Love all of Disturbed. Their Evolution album was where they did something outside of their mainstream sound & I think it's underrated by the amount of hate I saw from the diehard fans, but I love it regardless. Can't go wrong w/ these guys, their live performances are outstanding as well. David brought a 7yr old girl & her dad up on stage from the crowd at their latest concert in the OKC Paycom Center, the band signed her poster, & they got to stay on stage for the duration of their next song since it was her first concert ever (according to the sign). Great guys.
I've been watching you for about a week and I do like your comments compared to other's who just Bob their heads. It's still amazing to me that people your age have not heard these clasic hits. They made those bands.
I just remember the old dude wrestling the naked chick in oil and he died doing it😂 his name was blue.😂 forgot the name of that movie. But great reaction! This was fun
The First Time I Heard This I Was Mesmerized By Davids Voice....& TBH Now I Know Exactly What S&G Were Singing ...I Commented & A Week Later I Got A Notify As Someone Commented On My Comment ...It Was DAVID Himself...I Cannot Find That Video...😢😢...Did I Reply To Him NO....I Thought FFS Some Clowns On Here Trying To Convince Me It Was DAVID..... IT WAS ❤😊❤😊❤
The movie reference evoked by Disturbed version of Sound of Silence is a low key great retro super hero movie called ‘The Watchmen’ ..... well worth a look (not sure if Disturbed actually played on the soundtrack (long time since I watched it) but the vibe hits the same
Just want to say you may want to do a reaction to down with the sickness uncensored version if all you’ve heard is the radio version because the radio version has an entire verse taken out
10,000 fists is a pretty good song.. good message that BP might resonate with... Sound of Silence was a huge departure from what they normally do, but David Draiman can sing his ass off.
Loved the reaction. ^.^ I suggest reacting to their song "Indestructible" It's one of their heavier songs, but is totally clear what is being said, awesome emotional meaning, I suggest watching the official video with it. It's AMAZING!
I really hope you plan to show him both "Down with the Sickness" and the live version of this that you did. "Stupify" is another popular one from back in the day you may want to do! Maybe you could both even do the original version of the song if you don't know/remember it? Another great reaction guys! ❤
If you guys think the Sound of Silence, you might be a bit interested to know that the band recorded one of Draimin's warmup sessions and posted it on their TH-cam page. The song performed was a snippet of Unchained Melody.
YOU guys MUST CHECK OUT together to DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS - Disturbed! Was definitely in the pre soccer game & pre gym tunes! Live version is 🔥🔥🔥 too there few different versions! Also last resort by papa roach! These two were on the playlist before Metallica, linkinpar, lil Wayne, 50 cent & Eminem kicked in! Pre game getting ready mode 🔥⚽️🏋️♂️
You should do a reaction to "bad man" its a grammy nominated song. It was originally about the war in Ukraine, but it can totally apply to so many different things.
After about the tenth time I heard this song was curious about what Paul Simon thought about the video. According to the search Simon said that the song was David's now.
Old white women's view of this song: On one side of the water were people who had the music, and on the other were the people with the instruments. We have to come together if we want harmony in this world!
You can go with some of the early stuff. Stupify, Unstoppable, Indestructable, The Game, Voices, Stricken, Land of Confusion (Genesis/Phil Collins cover). Also, consider looking into Godsmack too. And consider that Sully Erna (Godsmack's singer) is a small guy (only 5'6 and like, 135lbs) with his voice. If you go that way, start with Voodoo.
Hey man, love your stuff. if you want a good diverse collection of Disturbed then I highly recommend their album Evolution. It's a good mix of all the ways they have produced songs from their hardcore metal to their more Ballard type stuff. Either way looking forward to more disturbed in future. Keep up the good BP and Don
I remember when i first heard sound of silence i was watch the tv show "Into the Badlands" but i know a good song i hope you will like well two one by the group skillet called "falling inside the black" and the group Cryoshell their song "Creeping in my soul"

I never get tired of hearing this song and this version, so prophetic in it's portrayal of people on their mobiles and no one listening.
My mom was a Simon and Garfunkel fan. I heard all their music growing up. I played this when it came out. She got a tear, said he hit the feeling they were feeling when the original came out.
I particularly love the live version when he performed on Conan O’Brien! He does such an amazing job with this cover! Love it!
I agree, the live performance on Conan O’Brien was mesmerizing❤❤❤
I'm sure I saw someone say he was ill doing that too
I cry every time I hear their version. It is so powerful
Land of confusion by disturbed is awesome 👌
Love Disturbed and this song by them. Saw them live recently and they were unbelievable amazing. David was so good ❤❤
“Simon and Garfunkle changed. They look different” “This is Disturbed you doofus” CRACKED me up
The movie is Old School. The original version of this song is in the movie Old School, but it's at the point where Will Ferrell is drowning after being hit with a tranquilizer dart.
Dust in the Wind is being played at Blue's funeral. When Will Ferrell's character yells out " You're my boy Blue!"
👏🏼 It needed to be said!
(Wedding crashers? 🤦🏻♂️)
It's also worth noting it was Stifler that was in control of the dart originally. *thats fucken cool man* in slow mo
It was old school and the song was dust in the wind 😂
that was cringe
This song 😭❤
Gives me goosebumps every time!!
The official LIVE version of A Reason to Fight has a very powerful message.

Upvote for this one ^^^
I’m going to see them in February and I’m gonna bawl I just know it

I like their song 'The Light'. The video is touching and hits hard on the heartstrings. Many of their songs have a very strong story to them.
My brother died as a firefighter when the building collapsed on him. I got the news by phone and rushed in my car to my parents house. This song started playing on the radio. I had to pull off the road and completely broke. After about 30 minutes of crying I was able to continue driving. The song always reminds me of his death.
So many people dont understand the meaning of this song. He nailed this song
I love the Disturbed version of this song. Seriously good. Saw them in concert last summer and it was phenomenal. Seriously good. Just as amazing live.

"Hold on to Memories" Is The Next one to Check out. See the official one First, Then the Live One. 🥰
Simon and Garfunkle was the warning, this is the "I told you so."
I'm so happy you didn't do the late night show version of this. I think this video that they produced themselves is so much more powerful
dive into Disturbed....they have soo many great songs
Y’all just crack me up! This was awesome ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
And this is my second favourite cover EVER!!!
What’s your first favourite?
Bad Wolves - Zombie. @@rhondaquigley6332
Art Garfunkel "only" sang he did not write the songs. I understand that people thinking that he wrote the songs really annoyed Paul Simons. Great singing though!

I'd recommend "inside the fire" it's more in their style but such a dark emotional track which still gives me shivers to this day.
This reminds me ofthe phrase the Silence is Deafening
I've been watching you for about a week and I do like your comments compared to other's who just Bob their heads. It's still amazing to me that people your age have not heard these clasic hits. They made those bands.
Pentatonix. AMAZING!
Oh my i love dust in the wind by Kansas that Don mentioned
I love this cover because it is a different vocal interpretation of a classic with a new sound
The Light, Reason To Fight, there is so much!
"You're my boy Blue"...OMG I laughed for 5 minutes. What a great reference...Thanks!!!
I absolutely love what you’re doing on your channel.
Hold On To Memories and Reason To Fight are my other favourites of theirs ❤🏴
My absolute favorite version
Feel like y’all got sidetracked on this reaction. This was so amazing and was hoping you’d take it all in and give it the respect it deserved.
Try Hold Onto Memories…definitely a more mellow vibe. Disturbed featuring Ann Wilson Don’t Tell Me was just released as a video. Two powerhouses.
I love love love love this cover - when I first heard it I couldn’t stop playing it - it’s amazing xx David draiman is amazing
Yes BP!
I just remember the old dude wrestling the naked chick in oil and he died doing it😂 his name was blue.😂 forgot the name of that movie. But great reaction! This was fun
they're in their late 70s/80s but both are still alive and active.
The song you were thinking of was Dust In The Wind…I think
Disturbed hold onto memories is also good
I got to see this song live a few nights ago, and it was a spiritual moment.
💜💜💜 Try "Hold On To The Memories", "The Light" and "A Reason To Fight". Songs with meaning to them.

Amazong to see them live. Disturbed will always be one of my top favorite bands.
Love Disturbed. He is 🔥
Just want to say you may want to do a reaction to down with the sickness uncensored version if all you’ve heard is the radio version because the radio version has an entire verse taken out
They did a fantastic cover of U2 - Still haven't found what I'm looking for
I really like a Sting cover Disturbed did of, "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You."
Check out their cover of "Land of Confusion" by Phil Collins. Original video was creepy AF but the new one....WOW! Todd McFarlane did the animation.
Land of Confusion is a Genesis' song.
The radio edit for Down with the Sickness doesn't do it Justice but same goes for the Oficial Music video... The Studio version has an extended ending
10,000 fists is a pretty good song.. good message that BP might resonate with... Sound of Silence was a huge departure from what they normally do, but David Draiman can sing his ass off.
Absolutely love this however i love the version with him singing this with Myles Kennedy even more ❤
Even if you're not into their normal sound, they have some great covers. Shout 2000 and Land Of Confusion are two more.
Loved the reaction. ^.^ I suggest reacting to their song "Indestructible" It's one of their heavier songs, but is totally clear what is being said, awesome emotional meaning, I suggest watching the official video with it. It's AMAZING!
You have to check out their songs "The Light" , "Prayer", "The Night"
Ya gotta do the live version
Gotta check out "Forsaken" by Disturbed. It's from the film "Queen of the Damned".Jonathan Davis from Korn also did a version.
I recommend checking out "the light" "shout 2000" honestly they have a ton of great songs
The movie with Blue is Old School! Great movie. Love love love Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence ❤
I read in a comment section somewhere that Simon & Garfunkle’s version was a warning. This version is the anger when it turns out no one listened.
lol "Your my boy blue" ADHD in full force. It's also from old school :p
I really hope you plan to show him both "Down with the Sickness" and the live version of this that you did. "Stupify" is another popular one from back in the day you may want to do! Maybe you could both even do the original version of the song if you don't know/remember it? Another great reaction guys! ❤

I highly recommend that you check;
A reason to fight
Inside the fire
The light
And of course Stricken😂!
I loved the confusion around Blue
YOU guys MUST CHECK OUT together to DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS - Disturbed! Was definitely in the pre soccer game & pre gym tunes! Live version is 🔥🔥🔥 too there few different versions!
Also last resort by papa roach! These two were on the playlist before Metallica, linkinpar, lil Wayne, 50 cent & Eminem kicked in! Pre game getting ready mode 🔥⚽️🏋️♂️
Old School with Will Ferrel as Frank the Tank and it was Dust in the wind

Should check out Stricken by Disturbed. 🔥
Old white women's view of this song: On one side of the water were people who had the music, and on the other were the people with the instruments. We have to come together if we want harmony in this world!
I LOVE DAVID! HIS VOICE JUST RESONATES.
BADFLOWER - FAMILY (Blackbird EDITION) PLEASE!
I'm going to keep asking :)
Don your talking about “OLD SCHOOL”-dust in the wind lol
“Stupify” …such a good disturbed song
That wasn’t “wedding crashes”, it was “old school “
Dons reaction killed this one...in the a bad way..I was disturbed by his comedy joke ,
You can go with some of the early stuff.
It was the movie "old school" and the song was "Dust in the wind"
Please dig a little deeper into Disturbed and react to "Hold On To The Memory" but do the studio version!
Hey man, love your stuff. if you want a good diverse collection of Disturbed then I highly recommend their album Evolution. It's a good mix of all the ways they have produced songs from their hardcore metal to their more Ballard type stuff. Either way looking forward to more disturbed in future. Old man Blue was in the movie Old School and the song was Kansas , Dust in The Wind
Old school when he got the tranquilizer dart in his neck and fell in the pool!
Hell man you went from Disturbed to Kansas🤣
You REALLY need to check out Kasey Chambers cover of Lose Yourself. Give it a shot. It's crazy.
S&G's version was a warning meant to be heard. This version is the anger because the warning was ignored and is meant to be felt. In your soul.
David Dtaiman is a trained cantor. His voice is amazing!
The poetry of Simon and Garfunkel.
I remember when i first heard sound of silence i was watch the tv show "Into the Badlands" but i know a good song i hope you will like well two one by the group skillet called "falling inside the black" and the group Cryoshell their song "Creeping in my soul"
you realy have to listen to Hold onto memorys from them. you will love it!
