    I’m a L3 PA and I keep telling people there’s no way I would become an L4 AM. Getting paid once a month, working up to twelve hours a day, no holiday or overtime pay. And you have to come in on your days off and you’re not getting paid for it. I see why college graduates do it but unless you’re starting me off at 80k I can’t do it.

    There's a manager at my warehouse that is literally walking around and looking for people to write up. Like every day he's pretty much writing people up.
    The certain people he doesn't write up even though he sees them on the phone he keeps walking. He only writes up the ones he doesn't like

    The main reason I've heard for why they include stocks in your compensation package is to keep you invested in the performance of the company. The stocks aren't actually a part of your base pay, it's a hiring bonus that vests over 4 years. You get 5% your first year, 15% your second year, then 40% for the third and fourth year. This apparently encourages people to stick around as it'll seem as if your getting a raise for the first 4 years before "fall off the cliff" and start to only receive your base salary the 5th year.

    • @S.B.
      @S.B.  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a part of my base pay and others that I know as well and instead of them using my money to keep me invested in the company they should operate with the best practices and "highest standards" to ensure great performance from the company in which I want to be invested in the company. And yea I heard about that fall off the cliff as well pretty crazy.

    I’ve been an L4 for 2 years for a small SC (external) but in my eyes the L6 role is CRAAAAAZY. Long story short as you move up, you do your boss/supervisors job for half the pay. PA’s got it made since they’re still hourly and can get OT/UPT etc.

    I was a supervisor at several DC's and I moved to different companies until I made DC Manager. I had to move because the opportunity to become a manager wasn't an option at a few of the jobs, so I decided to take my show on the road. Before I left any of my previous supervisor roles, I would get all of the knowledge I could, and I spent time with different managers to see how they moved in their role. Once the opportunity presented itself...I seized the moment! You have to be willing to move on and it doesn't hurt to embellish a little bit on your resume.😆

    Is kind of like when you become a blue vest and get no extra pay but then all of the sudden you running everything cause if you don't then nothing gets done right. You learn everything and PA is the only logical solution... authority.
    Also, bad managers can make working at Amazon absolutely suck. This includes lead PAs that like to micro manage. Ask me how i know.
    I still think the PA position is the happy middle ground but if you want to eventually go executive your going to need that AM position. If you don't want it then stay PA.

    In my eyes, if someone is willing to relocate at the drop of a hat every year or so (with that nice relocation bonus) an L4 area manager opportunity (typically becomes L5 AM pretty quickly) it becomes more worth it….. I keep meeting level 5 AMs at my new site (I just got promoted to Sort PA after 2 months as a T1, so I’m more so seeing the bigger picture now) who seem pretty happy with moving every year or so chasing relocation bonuses. These people seem happy with the pay, and actually seem like they are developing faster than level 4 or level 5 AMs who just stay at the same site for years. Thoughts?

    • @S.B.
      @S.B.  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree as long as they see some light at the end of the tunnel and have a path to get to that L6 then I think its worth it and I've seen the ones who bounce around move up faster. And if for the pay I think if its "good" or not is going to vary from person to person have any of them ever told you what their take home is after taxes etc?

    The stock is also set up to have you not leave. You are awarded those RSUs a year in advance. I just got stock award for 2025. So every time you think of leaving, you think, wait...I have 50 or so stock shares coming up, so I should stay. It's kind of an abusive relationship. Stockholm syndrome. Continued luck to all. It can be a great place, but there are a few positions and a few bad managers that can really cause issues. I've met a bunch of great people and I have enjoyed a lot of the work I have done.

    The stock pay is a way to keep talent and make you an owner. It’s your project right? Saves the company or makes the company money, right? Their stock value goes up and if you believe in the company you HODL not “huddle” 🙃 and become an owner even if the stocks are restricted.

      For me? No its not my project I would just like to do my job honestly you or "a company" can do their jobs great and a outside circumstance could affect the companies stock and it has nothing to do with your owner ship or how much you talent you have. I would honestly rather just take the pay instead of stock but that's just me.

    They give you stock because if you quit before 2 years you lose it . They know most will not stay

    I lasted 2 weeks. Found a better job. Something a robot couldn't do plus I don't have to stand for 10 hours. If you're desperate for work , Amazon is an easy job to get.

    I just quit my first warehouse job at Amazon few weeks ago 😂 couldn't take all the stress of rates with heavy ass items. At least my managers and PAS tried their best to work with me and even had compassion for my emorional ass and i will forever be grateful for them and the lessons. Even grown ass MEN would come up to me and told me i did the right thing by quitting bevause thwyre getting tired of packing all the heavy ass cages and its too heavy for them. While the old ass chinese ladies take whatever they want and got away with whatever. Well im already underweight and big ass men telling me our work is too heavy, i should be proud i even waited 2-3 months to quit. Its sad how work is not distributed properly sometimes so one person have to take more stress then the rest and if ur compassionate and dont know how to put urself first, U WILL GO DOWN AND GET FIRED for not breaking ur back for a company that wants to replace its associates with robots. I felt like i had to walk over people in order to reach the rates which wasnt even too bad (but not with all the cat litter honey) and guess what? I'd take the heavy cages on purpose sometimes cuz I'd see someone else do most of the heavy packing and getting taken advantage of. I guess i aint built for that lifestyle and its okay i just miss the people i loved, all my managers effort of trying to help me and deal with me, went down the drain.

      LOL Don't feel bad fam the warehouse is definitely not for everyone and great to hear you actually had a team that cared about you! And that's something I have seen before for sure work not being distributed properly or even. Hopefully you get something even better!
