- Professor Peter Higgs gives a talk about the particle that bears his name.
The celebrated scientist joins a panel discussion on the Higgs boson, a particle whose recent discovery is regarded as a milestone in modern physics.
Those accompanying Professor Higgs on the panel are Mr Alan Walker, Honorary Fellow and Director of the Particle Physics for Scottish Schools Exhibition; Dr Victoria Martin, Lecturer and Researcher in Particle Physics at the University of Edinburgh; and Francisca Garay Walls, PhD student.
Recorded on Thursday 20 June at the University of Edinburgh's McEwan Hall.

A real recognition of the outstanding work of Peter Higgs which give the fame to the University of Edinburg, still not more famous is the work of the French Louis Laroche noble prize at the Cern. Thanks to Higgs boson give the framework for particle physician to have the building blocks of nuclear physics entanglement.
Truly fascinating and historic.
Bosons are their own antiparticles, however, the Higgs boson would be the exception. The anti-Higgs is a particle that preserves symmetry, as opposed to the Higgs field that mediates a broken symmetry.
wow this is very bueno and good muy informative, like it mucho grande profe fran
What a man...!
Its unclear what threshold our species has crossed with his discovery....but it surely is momentous
Peter Higgs, was born, raised and educated in England, so is English.
