Asus has really stepped up their game recently with the Zen phone and new Zen notebook
100% agree with you on this - I got sooo bored of the PC Laptop market, I turned traitor and brought a MacBook, but in the next few months I'll be replacing that... Something like this would definitely tick my boxes.
ASUS always has had strong game imo. innovate and step up i hope they crush apple like a horse stepping on an apple it just took a bite out of and realized it wasn't quite as delicious as it looked like it was gonna be.
Seriously tho, i've been wanting to upgrade to a relatively cheap last gen smartphone and a superb laptop forever now.never thought asus would nail both for me.if i dont see any other laptop and/or smartphone that get my attention for the next 2 months im gonna settle down for Asus Zen 100%

I have a couple year old Strix and I loved it when it was in my daily rotation, lately I have been using an Ultrabook because I game less and travel more.
But this dual screen job is absolutely getting purchased as my new daily driver

If you make anomation or editing, you can put animation graph with curves, or keys to the bottom screen. Or add palettes in 3ds max or any other program.
Cool for architects, photographers and designers, so you can have your main tools and layers on the second screen and your work in full screen on the main one!

Hey. Don't knock on this idea of ASUS. This is the type of innovation that we have been missing in the laptop/notebook space. Seriously, these companies have spent the last 10 years doing zero real innovation and just making slightly thinner devices that they charge twice as much for. The cell phone industry is facing the same problem (which is killing sales) and the CPU sector was as well until AMD crashed the zero-innovation money-milking party.

Hmmm, it just overlays the video on top of the comments, where as on phones and tablets you can scroll through comments separately while the video is intact.
@@ahmedp800 Yo can fix the video to the right and adjust the size of the screen with the configurations. Same with Opera but also change tabs while keeping the video at one side of the browser.
I love this, specially that I work in video editing, finally I have another screen on the go, imagine moving some aftereffects or premiere tabs down there or keeping half of it for files browsing..etc infinite possibilities and awesomeness

it helps when they have an entire editing team back home ready to edit every video they receive where as a lot of smaller channels their editors might be traveling with them.

It's 2022, I just rediscovered this video, and still want this laptop. I love how it isn't over engineered with unnecessary software to handle the extra screen. I wonder if there's a newer model.
I've had this one for 2 years, just replaced the battery today and cleaned it now good as new. There is also a newer model that lifts the secondary screen and has a better graphics card, but that means that the older model is much cheaper than it was before, so more people can afford it (especially if second hand)
You can watch 1080p vids at full resolution on the mini screen. Pretty cool.

I would say: Asus go back to the drawingboard.
Looking down at a display is terrible!!! Neck fatigue guaranteed. Why did engineers and painters use drawingboards and easels for ages in stead of a table? -because you didn't have to look down all the time and stress your neck. This is also the problem with tablets and smartphone: you either have to look down, or hold it in front of you, either your arms or your neck gets tired, and most likely both.
@@sasjadevries You're talking about a issue with all laptops though, you are always gonna have your neck bent down. Unless your eyes can't move, your normal neck bend for a laptop would still see the bottom screen (hint: move your eyes down instead of your neck). I get that it is better to not have your neck bent for various reasons but majority of people will have there neck bent to some extent with a laptop. Or just make sure you're at a standing desk anytime you use a laptop I guess and your issue should be solved.
eh - if it was a main-use display, I would agree with you, but it's a reference display/tool display - if you're angling your head down at it, that's more a need to retrain yourself (same 'head down' could be used to reference people who don't touch-type - since they have to spend more time angled down, where as touch typers very rarely need to reference down, except when relocating on the keyboard - and usually not even then)
I should note - that a product like this is actually something more in line with what I need for my projects on the mobility end - considering almost everything I use a computer for requires dual display for efficacy purposes (so most current mobile options are fairly limited, and this would be nice)

@@Alzorath That's basically why I love this product, it seems so insanely useful for any one that does any kind of workstation work when they are mobile. Because let's face it, if someone is doing any kind of product development they have multiple monitors at there main work space and will always get annoyed when they have to do work outside the main space. Those newish mobile lcd screen that exist not are nice but it's something extra to carry and charge.
I just hope there are gonna be some reasonable prices version(obviously specs would be lower but that's fine for my work)

I certainly hope that there are no hidden gremlins like processor heat, etc. as I truly see this as the sort of laptop that would allow me to work faster. The dual screens allows for an Excel spreadsheet up below my 3D CAD program. This allows me to complete weight studies at a faster rate than before and weight studies are very important and huge time consumers! Love it!

This is so great for drawingggg. The second screen could be full of reference pictures and the main screen is where I'll draw. But I'm nervous about the price

To be honest even a 480p secondary touchscreen display above my keyboard would be neat.
720 is as cheap is it gets now, and that wouldn't even cost a penny more, which is great.

This is good for live streaming, you can game on the main display and monitor the stream chat on the secondary display. It'd be nice if the inbuilt camera and microphone is of good quality.
it would be really cool to get that style of keyboard as a standalone one to use with a desktop PC....
just lay a touchscreen down flat. and put a virtual keyboard on it. done.

I like the 2020 Apple Macbook, it has LCD screen display in each mechanical keys on the keyboard, even the back panel has lcd display, the bottom of the laptop has amoled display. It has 1000mah battery making it superlightweight. It also doesn't turn on so you don't need to worry about battery draining.

This is actually built so well.
This is perfect for making music. You can have the whole mixer on the second screen which is a perfect size for that. Since it has touchscreen you can just mix without using your mouse like a physical mixer. Perfect.

I just seen laptop like this in athena project demo, but I am amazed that it's second screen can also be brought up with main display like you are extending main display height on your desire, Idk who did that but most definitely it will outperform Asus in terms of UX
