Hi friends! I'm decorating my living room for fall with things I already had - books, depression glass, cozy throws and pillows and adding colorful leaves from outside. You really don't have to buy anything - just look around your own home and see what you can pull together🙂 Have you decorated for fall? Let me know what your favorite things are to use this season!!
Your room is a jewel box of gem like colors. Warm and cozy, a haven in the dreary sunless winter. Your home is gorgeous with candlelight all aglow. Love the use of all the antique glass. Memories are made of this! Have a blessed Autumn! Always anticipating your videos and blog. Love from Lin in Michigan.
I’ve been waiting to see more of your beautiful, relaxing, inspiring videos. Thank you for creating them. I watch all of them over and over again they give me such cozy, warm, fall and winter holiday feels. I can tell all effort that goes into making them. ❤️🍁🍂🕯
I just love the colors of autumn. I think they just beckon us to sit back and get cozy. You have such a beautiful home, thank you for sharing it with us.
I am enchanted every time you showcase your livingroom, Anita! Autumn colors are my soul's very favorite! Your channels always delights my eyes, and ears! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents!
Anita, It never gets old seeing your beautiful home. This is my second time watching this video and seeing this beautiful room. You created a wonderful warm, cozy, comfortable room with so many gorgeous colors and wonderful texture. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Oh my goodness, I just had to subscribe! This film because it goes beyond a video is so multi sensory and outstanding! Starting off with the Robert Frost poem and the crunch of the autumn leaves is amazing. The gorgeous colors, plush velvets in your living room and the beautiful coziness of it all is so relaxing. Stunning!
You've created a stunning room! I love the changing leaves in a vase and the many touches of colored glass. It's dazzling at night with the candles glowing. 🕯 I simply love your style!
So beautiful! I love everything about the room! I hope to put some of our oil lamps on the walls today. Happy to see they can be used safely. Do you use anything under the lamp to make sure it stays snuggly in the iron cradle? Have never used the other two that are up but would love too for Christmas especially.
Thank you so much! These do not have anything inside because they actually were sold together as a set, the fonts and the holder so they fit very snuggly☺️☺️ I had some that did not fit right so that’s why I just bought these all together from Antique Lamp Supply☺️
😂😂😂Really? Every bit of “fall decor” was free out of the yard☺️ As for the actual room, let me just highlight a few things. I inherited the old chaise which would have been thrown out, but I recovered it myself with discount fabric 21 years ago. The red throw was a trade for my shooting product photos for the person who made it. My mother bought the fabric on sale for $7 per yard that I made curtains from, and my daddy made the coffee table out of an old wagon wheel. Oh the embroidered sheer curtains from the 1970s are from a neighbor who gave them to my mother. I believe the armoire was $70 on Craigslist five or six years ago, and I painted it. The most expensive thing is the sofa, that I sold another sofa to get, for $375. Pretty sure most people, especially influencers, etc., pay WAY more than $375 for their sofa, not to mention the decor they constantly change out. I also made most of the pillow covers myself, but the ones I did buy, were maybe $12 each. Most of the candles I made myself using old depression glass as containers. I built the mantel myself out of wood saved from my grandparents’ old house, which I had to clean and restore piece by piece before using, and the print on the mantel was hanging in my parents’ basement. All the books were either left here from my grandfather, or passed to me from my aunt who didn’t need her sets of encyclopedias anymore, but I thought they’d be useful. My mother gave me the channel back chairs that she inherited. And that pretty much is the story of everything here. I have worked hard trading, sewing, refinishing, building from old wood, painting, etc., with things most people would throw away. There’s no Hobby Lobby/Home Goods fall haul here or a bunch of expensive decor from Pottery Barn, but what I have worked hard to put together on an extremely low budget. So pretty much everything in here can be found in thrift stores. If it looks expensive, then I’ve done my job well, and I’m proud of every bit of hard work I’ve put into it, and I hope to show others that you can have a beautiful room that does not cost a lot of money☺️
