    • @adamr8628
      @adamr8628 หลายเดือนก่อน

150,000 is barely anything. I own 7 Toyotas right now and 6 of them were purchased with 200k which is nothing. I won't be too impressed until they get beyond 400k and wouldn't be surprised if they go 500-750 k. (I would accept that as a win) Some have hit a million.

14-21 is my favorite generation. I own a 21' TRD Sport Premium, 5.7L 4x4 and it is the best truck I've ever owned. Bought brand new, have around 55k on it, the truck is flawless, not 1 problem. Yeah the truck is a bit dated in tech, being as it is the last year of this gen, but that's what makes it special. I'm going to drive this truck until the wheels fall off.

Agree completely! I have the 2007 DC Limited 4WD with the 5.7 L and the TRD package. People come up to me all the time and start conversations about my truck (minimal mods including 2" lift and other little things, nothing huge), and they are floored it's a 2007! I absolutely agree, 07-14 was the best. I'm a proud owner of a silver 07 regular cab short bed 4x4 with the 4.7 only 50k miles. I have a 3' lift with nice aftermarket wheels and meaty tires. Also a Gibson dual exhaust that sound so good. This is the 2nd 07 Regular cab I've owned, the first one had the column shift while the second one has the console shift. In hindsight I prefer the column shifter, feels more roomy and is more oldschool unique by today's standards. One cool thing about the regular cab is the passenger seat folds down to make a flat surface also to access the space behind the seats which is huge for a regular cab. The seats can also recline very far back unlike the Big Three regular cabs, also how incredibly wide the doors are compared to all other Tundra configurations. The Regular cab short bed Tundra is a rare breed that I feel honored to drive.
The looks and design really have stood the test of time, I constantly get compliments from random people.

I drove a 2013 Tundra Doublecab 4x4 and put 300k miles on it, and then bought a 2021 Crewmax. There was a lot i missed about my 2013. Felt the 2013 had more power and the shifting was smoother and more consistent. Interior felt more robust and tougher. Fit and finish was better than my 21. I agree that the 2007-2013 were better trucks. Not saying my 21 isnt a great truck because i absolutely love my truck! I test drove a few 22 tundra and they feel like a rattly tin can. They feel cheap despite looking amazing interior wise.

I have a 2023 4Runner TRD PRO, which I really like, but there is something about driving the Tundra with the 5.7 V8 that's brings out the teenager in me, (i'm 64). Love the Tundra - it's the best. The technology of the new 22' tundra is really great, but you can change the inside all you want. The heart of the "older" beasts won't die. Being a first time owner of a 21' 1794 is an AWESOME experience but also satisfying in the fact that I purchased one of the best and last of the 5.7 V8 engines that won't die, unlike the new generation, but that's just my ¢3. I went to Denver from Erie Pa to pick up a high mileage 213,000 , 2007 Tundra CM. I wanted something that was rust free and you can't find that in Pa, Ohio or NY so I drove my rust bucket 2013 Silverado out there to trade it in. I paid 15,900 for my 2007 and I drove it home off the lot without a hiccup. I did a lot of things to the Tundra when I got it home, and it wasn't cheap to bring all the maintenance up to date but it was worth it. The truck runs and drives like new. I wouldn't hesitate to ever buy another high mileage Toyota. The things are bomb proof if you keep up with the maintenance....

I was the first of my friends to get the new model Tundra, and after driving it, 3 of my friends went out and purchased the 4 door extended cab version for themselves. Now after 17 years we all still have the same truck. I believe mine is the lowest mileage at 88k, and I never intend to sell or trade. My son wants it when I eventually pass. 2008 CrewMax with 340K miles in Texas. My daughter forgot her phone. It may have saved three lives. The story: Two weeks ago, I had dropped my daughter off at her home in Austin, and drove 20 minutes toward my home. My daughter called from her mother's phone and said she left her phone in my truck. I turned around and went back and gave her phone to her. I then drove about 30 minutes and became involved in a four vehicle wreck. I was slowing for stopped traffic on the highway (a common occurrence anywhere near Austin), when a speeding F-250 behind me impacted me so hard, my seat collapsed. It launched my Tundra into the Toyota Yaris in front of me, and the car in front of it. Three people climbed out of the Yaris, which had my Tundra up to its rear window. They were checked out by first responders, and released. If my Tundra had not been there to absorb the impact of that F-250, those folks would not have walked away. I was able to drive my Tundra home, but I'm sure it is totaled. I wanted to drive this rig to 500K, but now I am looking for another. Maybe to save more lives.

Currently I own a 2018 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crew Max....And I love how reliable my truck is, oil changes every 5 k miles or less, do my own, air filter super clean every day, PCV replace often, Trans fluid refresh every 60 k miles, diferencia oil change every 40 to 50 k miles...etc, etc, So roomie, very comfortable at driving, I take it to central Mexico twice a year on a 2000 miles one way, not a drop of oil burnt, loaded with 1000 lbs at 80 miles/hr...And still gave about 20 m/gl...I dont care about the fancy crap from the other manufacturers.... I just bought a 15' sr5 double cab with the 6.5 bed. It has the 4.6. It drives great but is definitely underpowered compared to what im used to. It doesn't really get any better gas mileage than my gmc with the 6.0 on the freeway. 4x4 works great aand theres many things i like about it. I just couldn't find the same thing in my price range with the 5.7. I hope the Toyota reliability makes up for it. It will be a good mountain truck this summer.

    Love Tundra's!
    I have a 2005.
Boyfriend bought his 2013 new ... Awesome truck as well.
So sad... His tundra was totaled a few days ago. Truck saved his life. He was smashed from the back and projected to the vehicle in front of him on the freeway with no warning.
He and I loved that double cab adventure truck. Traveled on the road (with our kitty copilot!) for solid 2yeara with a truck camper and garage trailer (hauling motorcycle and other toys). Towed great with that load. Many ppl approached us asking how well our tundra does pulling that weight. They sounded concerned. We were not.We set it up correctly and we're good to our truck and she was good to us.
It was the best tundra. So sad it gone. Many happy memories.
We are Toyota people and specifically love Tundra's.
Now the search is on for a new to us tundra. Probably between 2014-2021.
Again it is so sad when any tubdra is creamed, let alone your own! And... One that was well cared for, no problems no rust... It was in great condition! A 6 seater. More rare. Great truck.
Be safe out there. So many bad drivers. Sometimes there's No notice when someone plows into the back of your rig on a busy freeway no matter how good of a driver you are. Was so sad to see his truck smashed and the airbags went off as well. So glad he is ok
Solid truck. Search is on for another.

I came across a 2007 Toyota Tundra on a popular auction website approximately a year ago. It had a little over 14,400 on the odometer. first owner was a retired gentleman who occasionally drove it to home depot. The individual I purchased it from had clayed the paint. Other than some scratches and small dents, it is in amazing condition! All I wanted was simple trunk. I paid way too much for it, but figuring inflation, I didn't do too bad. Yes sir, if you don't want a 1st gen Tundra the 2007 to 2013 Tundra are the best. I drive a 4.7 2002 regular cab long bed, and a 5.7 2007 regular cab short bed ... BOTH are SR5 Unicorns with split bench seating. The 2002 is my dedicated work truck that my clients take comfort in seeing me drive up in these past 20 years - that's two decades driving the same work truck. My 2007 is more of a sport truck that I drive for fun, or when conditions like driving into Atlanta warrant more safety features... I would not want to part with either on of them.
I replaced the head unit in the '07 for Bluetooth capability that I never use... it has a single CD player, and I will investigate adding a changer because I also love me some CDs. The 2002 has a factory 6 disc changer with amp... it works great.

I have a 13' SR5 with the 4.6 I bought a few years ago with 35k miles on it now it has 112k miles I've done brake pads, oil changes, the other fluid changes, filter changes, you know, basic maint, haven't had a single problem, I use it to pick up our broken down Rams, Chevy's and Ford's, to make it comfortable I spent 3k on a new stereo system, did a small lift, and got some nice rims/bigger tires....it's a beast, only problem is 14.3 MPG. It's a great truck, like I said, I drive many of our other fleet trucks, 6500's, 2500's even a Tacoma TRD Pro and I'm still comfortable with my Tundra, my last truck was a 2021 Chevy Bison. The Tundra feels like a Sports car after driving a Ram 2500 even more so than after driving our Mack trucks, Freightliners or Peterbilts. TL;DR Good Truck, dependable

2008 5.7 crewmax. It needed a transmission at 155k , a airbag failure cost 2k, the sais and air pump failure _ fixed with helwitt bypass kit. So i got it used for 22k put 100k and then a tree fell on it so i took the totalled valued from insurance . Brought it back for 3k. Now fixed the body work for cheap and now at 190k just did a 500 mile day.
Runs good . The helwitt kit made it give 2 to 3 mpg more and makes it run so smooth.
Towa a 7k trailer most od the time.
07 to 09 had transmission failures. Post 2010 this disappeared so i would recommend post 2010.

I have an 08 dbl cab sr5 2wd column shift 5.7,its the 8t7 blue with the optional BBS 5 spoke alloy wheels. Nice looking still today, its ceramic coated and I still have people think its a new truck, mine has 110k on it and has been very good. It drives as good or better than any other truck I've driven, and I have driven most everything out there, it is one of the quickest trucks still today, and I get 15 mpg local and 20 mpg hwy. I am hoping it will get passed down to my grandson one day,it is 100 percent rust free at this point, and zero mechanical concerns. Only repairs in 15 years were one rear wheel bearing, and I replaced the water pump at 110k. Other than normal services and a little visit on a wiring harness from a groundhog, its been great. Can't say the same for the ground hog,but it won't be chewing anymore wiring harnesses!

I bought New in 2007 the Toyota Tundra 5.7L Double cab with all the trimmings on it. It has the wood grained dash that still looks fantastic. I wanted the larger truck bed so that is why I bought the double cab. It has the backup camera. No Moon Roof. I have towed a travel trailer in its early years from Texas to NY and back, and from Texas to Washington and back. Otherwise I drive it to work and around town. I've kept it serviced every 5k miles. Had to change the water pump, and AC coil behind the dash. Did breaks, have new tires. I have 122,000 miles on it so I had it completely serviced per the book costing $2350. I've added a lane change detection camera system, bed liner, and bed cover. It came with Tinted windows. So, I've had it for 17 years and enjoy every minute while driving it. Wife thinks the leather seats are better than our new Honda CRV. The truck has the Heated side adjustable Non Tow mirrors. The passenger side mirror has a reflection problem. I think the auto-dimming material has a problem. Can anyone tell me why that might happen?

Bought an '08 double cab TRD Off Road in pyrite mica about a year ago. One owner, 155,000 miles and the interior was like new. The stock suspension was shot so I installed the Eibach front coilover setup that comes with the springs and the leveling already set along with rear shocks. It rides fantastic now. Added an up to date stereo system and that's it. Put about 10,000 miles on it since I had it as a daily driver. Nothing rattles, it rides great, engine makes no noise and runs like a sewing machine, transmission shifts like new. I paid top dollar at the time, $16,000 but you would be hard pressed to find another truck like this one it the condition it is in. I see a ton of old Tundras as work trucks every day and I know why. As reference, I've owned a 2006 first gen, great trucks but the fit and finish left a lot to be desired, and a 2015 which I should have kept.

It works hard all week (lumber rack that gets USED!) and plays hard all weekend - tows a boat, overland camping and wheelin'. You didn't mention the seats... Great!!! Ive owned the 2000, 2013, 2014, and 2019. One thing you didnt mention was all of the different colors you could get back then. Even interior colors were more varied. Now, look around. The SR's and SR5's can be had in any color as long as its white, black, silver, or gray. And seems you get a grey interior on everything, no variation. And yes, the interior features on an SR5 trim level on the 2nd gen were amazing. Had to upgrade to Limited or Platinum on the later models to get many of the little details that came standard on the earlier SR5's.
