    Nice to see a fellow 07k 944 enthusiasts. Im doing the same thing on mine. If your going NA first dont toss the stock exhaust since it can be used in the car with some fabrication. Good luck!

    Is the 07k going to be NA or Boosted?

      I’ve never done an engine swap before and I’m still finishing up college so my first phase it will be NA and then after I graduate and learn a bit more I’ll likely boost it further down the line. That being said, I also want the chassis to withstand high horsepower so I’ll probably upgrade suspension and drive train components before boosting it

      @@kaidanodom I was curious about that bc I wanted to run a NA setup then go Boosted once everything is working great but idk if you can just send BBG the ecu back and have it retuned for a boosted application 🤔 I met Mike Day and asked him about his 07k swap and he was still running the NA transaxle(as of September) he says it's holding up and hes running 300hp on it (but he did break a axle though) I'm really surprised bc they aren't rated for anything really over 200hp lol.

      @@RedRoofGarage Yea, his transaxle is kind of a golden apple if you ask me, haha. As far as switching to boost goes, you don't have to send the ECU back. You just swap to a MAP sensor, change fueling set up, and change the tune.

      @@kaidanodom sounds easy enough I guess ill go the baby steps route. I was going to start looking for the motor just to have laying around(bc its the cheapest part of the swap lol) I heard the 05 had a forged crank but it's a MAF and the newer ones(I forget when they switched I think 08) switched to a MAP that doesn't really matter right since you're just using pretty much the block not the accessories...I never worked on a newer VW engine lol

      Yea the MAF/MAP thing doesn’t matter because you don’t even use the stock intake manifold
