I think it has something to do with the engineers that sometimes despawn when building a catapult or firebalista. Or a friendly fire kill from a catapult on a ballista.
just for actually killing the lord - you can first get the enemy lord to target yours in melee, then throw in a bunch of melee units so you win the fight, as your lord has priority over those so the other lord will never retarget
Yeah true, but I didn't have the guts to do it! I know it's safe but I was being too scared
Or just dmg enemy lord a bit and kill him with yours, yours will start with more hp so he will win
yeh but for that you'd need to bring him down to like half hp to be safe as saladin gets a huge buff to his lord over yours, so still sitting and watching fireballistas shoot for ages

maybe units that de-spawn count as loss/kill??
The units died of old age because it took ages and millions of ballista shots to take Saladin down (you gotta hand it to him, this man loves his acupuncture).
Imagine taking a whole lot of flaming spears every minute while having to watch your enemies to die of old age because there is nothing you can do to get them.
They die but your only legacy is that you didn't get them 😂

since the enemy has 0 kills, there are only a few ways this can happen; friendly fire, traps, cows or fire. Catapults often do close range friendly fire on other catapults so that's probably what happened.
if you hade a bunch of catapults in one stacked, they can kill themselves.
@@HowTo-rs9iy I learned that the hard way, once I had about 20 catapults grouped up together and all of a sudden I see their numbers going to 18, 17, 15, 14 etc even tho there's no ranged or melee units attacking them. That's when I realized what was going on haha.
Hi Jeff, I am sure you killed a few of your engineers when you built your tents at the same spot two times (2:12 and 4:38). For some reason, the game does not like that... You will see the missing engineers in your army summary, aswell when disbanding your first siege unit, because no engineers will exit it in that case. It does not matter if you use tents or buildings. If you build on a spot where a tent has been place and the siege engine is still manned, you kill your engineers -.- I had the same issue a couple of years ago ;-)

could it be that the 8 killed unites is a bug happen when you built the siege tents some engineers did not enter then you needed to make the engineer to re-enter the tents?!
1 question how it is possible to lose 8 units and the enemy have 0 "kills" ?
maybe lions have eaten them.

It is either some unsee catspult friendlyfire or the units that got disbanded
sometimes when catapults are over stacked and firing, some of the units die. a bug or something. also when too many engineers are ordered to make mechanicals some engineers tend to vanish when entering the tent.
I think, not sure, but I think when you turn units into peasants it may count as a death. I think I noticed this in stronghold 1. But not sure.

after you clear out all his troops you can just use your lord to tank the saladin while macemen take care of him

Despawning starting arabian archers are the key
In the begining video your workers was killed from horse archers.
You could've just finished the lord with your lord, after the enemy had no units left

If you mean 0 casualties, then I can't let anyone get to mangonels and ballistas, it becomes way too hard to prevent unit deaths because they have the longest range!

Also a quick story , I started playing crusader since like 2006-2010 and all of my neighbours are pros here , and one day he had some time on programming class in highscool in Bosnia (south-east Europe) and I beat the proffesor and the whole other team (we played 4v4) we got et.

How do you keep the ballista or whatever engineering unit selected? I've been playing this game for more than a decade, but I've always had to click again after placing a single tent.

Do you use any mod or something like that? Or is it only hotkey? How do you do that you can click to build multiple siege engines (red and white tents), I must select it again and again after building one and it is so slow :/

Not a hotkey, I have Unofficial Crusader Patch installed, it prevents the siege equipment from being deselected every time you place one down!

Got my hands on Cheat Engine to make the lord invincible, took eternity for him to reach enemy's keep and that's how I won with 0 kills.

How?
When your lord is immortal, you don't have to make any army to fight anyone. There are some videos about Cheat Engine usage in the game if you want to find out.

That ia the weaknest of ballistas they all only targeting one unit
