When Wolf Pups Wander, Chaos Ensues

- This is what motherhood looks like.
When the almost three-week-old pups decided they were ready to wander outside their den, Mexican gray wolf Mom Trumpet finds herself juggling both her pups and curious one-year-olds.
Can you say "chaos"?
This Mexican gray wolf family represents the Wolf Conservation Center's active participation to save a species from the brink of extinction.
The WCC, a 501c3 non-profit organization in South Salem, NY, is one of a network of facilities participating in the Mexican Wolf Species Survival Plan - a bi-national initiative whose primary purpose is to support the reestablishment of Mexican gray wolves in the wild through captive breeding, public education, and research.

Mom being a stressed mom🤣
Me when i offer my mom some help in the kitchen
@@Salsabilla-xl8bx relate able
The mom is the one grabbing the pups and putting them back, right? Or am I mistaken?
Honestly I don’t think that was the mom bc the whole time she had her tail between her legs like she was a lesser rank instead of a she alpha
Siblings looked so guilty as if it was their job to look after them...and they as expected....failed.
That’s exactly right.
"It was YOUR JOB to watch them!!!"
Mother Wolf: "I could really use a baby gate right about now"
She must be alpha the way the others "bow" when she's around.
@@marlak4203 Of course she is alpha.
You're an idiot holding onto an antiquated and disproven theory about how wolf packs and their hierarchy work. Wolf packs are a family unit, it's as simple as that.
The older pups and the new ones are all her pups she gave life too. She is MOM.
@@misstwib Dude calm down. Not everyone knows that no need to go on the attack
@@marlak4203 Only the alphas can have pups, the others are probably older offspring they had before, she's definitely the alpha
The yearlings were sniffing curiously at the pups as momma was taking one back inside, but once momma came back out, both yearlings dropped into a low, submissive stance simultaneously, as if to say "We weren't doing anything, we swear!"
I like how the older siblings are clearly freaking out a bit frantically trying to figure out what to do lol.
"Whatever it was, it's not our fault!"
😂 I love this narration / observation
😂😂 yep typical siblings lol
Mum: I just need to pop out for a second, so you watch the babies
Kids: WHAT DO WE DO WHAT DO WE DO - IS THIS HOW YOU HOLD THEM? MUUUUUUUM!
I love that there’s no obnoxious music in the background

Yes! It's so refreshing.
I have so much respect for wolves, the will to survive, the organization of family, the communication system, teamwork, and hierarchy. They are beautiful and majestic creatures.
@@GamerNerdess That happens with any invasive predator
@@GamerNerdess duh
@@GamerNerdess "weren't native in"? Sounds more like you're describing humans than wolves.
@@tolbiny36 Except humans became natives of the entire globe.
Where they were introduced that they weren't native?
I love how this is like an episode of family sitcom. When the kids are missing, the mom snaps, and the older siblings are to blame. The wolves' behaviour is fascinating, incredibly human-like.
Watching their body language is fascinating.
Pup: We want to SPLORE!
Other wolves: No you are too small.
Smolness.

That was nice to see. Their bigger siblings tried to shepherd them a little it was cute. Momma was so stressed naughty puppies.
Carefully notice the ear position and tail postures of the older siblings. Ears to the sides and tails tucked a bit, that means they are not sure whats going on and a bit apprehensive.
I believe they were showing classic signs of submission to mom. She was already nervous about the babies, the older siblings could read this, and every time she emerged from the den with fire and brimstone in her eyes as if to say if you hurt that baby there’s going to be hell to pay, the older siblings would instantly drop to the ground with tails between their legs.
Robert Sole mhm I already know most if not all wolf postures I'm pretty sure they are called airplane ears when they put them to the sides
@@claymac7895 Fire and brimstone and hell to pay. HAHAHAHA
@steve hazard wolves are not pets
These animals are just perfect.
The older siblings where like: Are they supposed to be out or...? OH CRAP MOMS HERE
No one will hurt these cute little wolfies. Their protectors are there to protect them in all costs 💪🐺
It's a man made den at the Conservation Center. The wolves are being fed. They are Mexican Gray Wolves which have a slimmer build than other Gray Wolves.
You think we didn’t know that? Idiot.
@@tar4825 read the comments and you'll see why it needed to be clarified for some. Unlike you I chose to explain rather than Insult.
Yeah I was gonna say that they look small compared to the ones here in Virginia
Reminds me of coyotes in places like Toronto where they're the size of medium medium sized dogs compared to were I live where they're the size of a small large dog.
@@marikroyals7111 probably the difference between western coyotes and eastern coyotes, also called Coywolves, hybrids that have wolf genes.
They all worked together to be sure the pups were secured backed in the the den. Just amazing.
Not really that amazing. Having that many helping, you'd have to be stupid to not pull that off.

I love wolves so much! I wish every human mother treated their baby with such love, car and protection
If families stuck together like this imagine what those families could accomplish together! Power in numbers ❤
The adults have such communal love for the pups.
Just like when toddlers 👶🏽wander, chaos and mayhem ensues as well!! 😂🥰 I love wolves!! 🐺 #wolfpack
Do you like to talk to the leader of the pack Karen?
Go check out wolfquest the game on computer or mobile (computer is 100X better)
00:37 the pups falling off the tree trunk lol so cute
It’s so cute when they roll off the log 🤣😍
Such adorable pups they are. There very feisty for Adventure despite blind.
Yup thats every puppy ever.
They aren't blind at three weeks just clumsy.
Only newborn puppies are blind
Just like some human moms, can't seem to be able to get the kids to cooperate, takes lots of patience, compassionate and tender loving care.
I love their den! So cute, snuggly, and creative looking!
I love how the mother doesnt even care, and picks up the puppy by it's bottom and not the scruff 😂
The adult now is too big to pick them up by the scruff at this age
" We didnt do anything mom, we swear. We just sniffed it a little bit. " Older siblings to mom.
Their family dynamic within the pack is fascinating. Clearly they have thoughts and emotions. It makes me wonder.. if I have a soul then wouldn't these beautiful wolves?
Or maybe the don't and neither to you
@@muggensan8611 I tend to agree…but it would be nice to think that we all do. There is no reason to think that only humans have a soul and animals would not. Even the most recent pope said something like, “There is a place in heaven for all God’s creatures.”
Sadly, I’m not a religious person, but if there were a heaven, I wouldn’t want to go there if there were no animals.
@@geslinam9703 yes , the soul it s an obviously pleasant thought...immortality somewhere or even better in a world of grace , what could we dream more than this... the world of santa claus is also a wonderfull story for kids, funny things adults are well aware kid s fantasies are not real but theirs are true
Of course they have souls, every living thing around us does, humanity simply has a superiority complex.
@@muggensan8611 How do you know wether the soul exists or not? Are you some sort of expert in the matter? Have you dedicated your life to study the possible existance of the soul? Or are you just an edgy asshole that thinks mocking people 's hope and faith makes you sound mature?
If you really think you have existance all figured out you are just like the adults believing in children's stories you are laughing at.
Lol didn't see any chaos. Just a good mom with her precious cubs and some curious pack members. Beautiful
There is a learning curve with wolf parenthood. Most new pairs will lose their entire first litter. They get better at it with time and with the surviving pups to help out as well.
Yep Mom, it takes a village.
Absolutely

I want to point out that they are using drainage tunnels as a safe means of crossing the highway. This is why we need more nature bridges and tunnels, so that theas animals can travel the forrests safely.
