Nissan is really good with being modern yet still having an old school approach. I’ve always loved them for that. They know their clientele

Had a 6 cylinder, 2007 Nissan Altima (with the CVT) for 14 years. Bought it brand new. Oil, tires, brakes, and a tie rod end or two. Most reliable vehicle (of 7 vehicles) I have ever owned. Sold it (with 170,000 miles on original engine and transmission) to an auto mechanic around the corner. He drives it to work every day. Saw it this morning (October 28, 2022).
Currently drive a 2012 R51 Nissan Pathfinder. LOVE IT!
    I LOVE 'old-school' tech.......physical knobs, buttons, V8's, etc., and I am a HUGE fan of Nissan's VQ-series engines.

I am FINALLY getting one of these it looks like. They make an "S" trim with fewer bells and whistles again and the end of year incentives are crazy.
For the 4WD "S' the MSRP is only 55k to begin with, and the end of year incentives are huge this year (supposedly an update is coming next year).
It may never be this affordable again to buy a Nissan Patrol new (albeit a decontended one).
The "S" I am looking at still has LED headlights, 360 degree camera though. But the stereo is only 4 speaker, the rear view mirror is manual, the outside mirrors are still heated. Exactly the simple but incredible sturdy, high mechanical content, lifetime durability SUV one would want.
And I am paying less than a new loaded Pathfinder or 4Runner, for brand new full size V8 body-on-frame goodness.!! 🥰

Excellent review of the Nissan Armada. I have the 2021 Nissan Armada SV, with 32,000 miles so far and I just love it. I agree with every point you made about this vehicle. This Endurance V8 engine along with the regular 7 speed transmissions have been very reliable for the past 20 years. I had a 2004 Infiniti QX56 for 17 years and 221,000 miles and had no issues with the engine or transmission (just burned a quart of oil every 2000 miles, and a cracked exhaust manifold which I never replaced). Folks, just keep up with regular maintenance oil changes, draining the transmission oil every 50000 miles and flushing the radiator fluid every 5 years. Also, when I saw that the new Nissan Armadas were built in Japan along with its sister vehicle, The Patrol, then it was a no brainer for buying this vehicle especially before they start using the V6 turbo engines in their 2025 re-design. I plan to keep this vehicle for a very long time.

Armada is a reliable SUV! Better than the Tahoe or Expedition!!! Don’t overpay for the American brands that rip you off and send you to the dealership for constant repairs and recalls!!! My first Armada was a 2008 and I drove it for 10 years before I traded it with over 230,000 miles on it. The car was still running great and never had any engine or transmission problems…totally reliable! I now have a brand new 2023 Armada and love it!!!

The auto level is only in the rear and it’s great for cargo. My 2011 it still works at 230,000 miles and I also have a 2021. I’m not saying it can’t break but it’s an assist feature not the main weight bearer.

Panoramic sunroofs are not necessary. More opportunity for problems and with a top heavy vehicle it’s dangerous in rollover scenarios.

It is exactly the same thing just with different bumper styles, though I heard it’s cheaper
In UAE, Nissan patrol is far more popular than the Armada, if you need one, you need export it since they don’t sell it in dealers, and also, as I mentioned, I heard it’s cheaper than the Nissan patrol, had this came to UAE, it would have destroyed the Nissan patrol market again, it’s basically the same thing

I’m a millennial, but old school in a sense that I love knobs and switches. Toyota def is the Ford of the Japanese crew as far as reducing engines and focusing on tech. Nissan is still sticking true to their roots.
And Nissans V8s are part of the VK series, which is dirt old, which means it’s tried true and tested. It’ll last way longer.
