I love Rae Sloane. She's not some mustache twirling bad guy who's evil for the sake of being evil. She actually believes that The Empire, led correctly, can be a force of good and order in the galaxy, especially once you strip away the slavery, senseless cruelty, and corruption. A very naunced character who we should have seen in the films already.
Her philosophy is incompatible with what gets displayed over and over: the reality of the Empire and the First Order. I hope she saw that before death took her.
@@conordarken1778 Empire, despite it’s might, was always a short-lived and unstable hierarchy. She did not follow the men, which would come and go, be killer or overthrown every other week. She followed the idea, and could not care less who was above her in rank.

Sloane is a treasure. I'll be annoyed if she dies some lame death at the hands of Snoke and/or is never mentioned in the films. On one level, I like that readers of Star Wars books are essentially part of a secret club that film-only people aren't aware of, but the SW films sorely need characters like Sloane and Vi Moradi.
Having just read the first few chapters of Aftermath, she feels similar to him in Heir to the Empire being one of the few with experience tried of handling new recruits in a vain effort to maintain the crumbling Remnant.
Sloane is an interesting character, on one hand she wished the The Empire to be a beacon of hope, and a force that brought peace and order, but at the same time she had a ruthless streak, and seemed to savor the ruination of her enemies, and she had no problem with Imperial brutality. Never a hero, but not really a villain either, had the rebels brought peace to her world she might have supported them.
Battlefront 2 has a good campaign until she turns, I think she should've had doubts but wouldn't turn, if they wanted her to turn they should've done it in resurection
I honestly think they wrote the campaign with Del in mind and then Disney made them change it to Iden. She has no real reason to change and abandon the empire unlike Del who had some doubts from the beginning and even met Luke. Over all her character arc seemed to fit Del better in my opinion.
Rey Sloane is certainly one of my favorite Canon characters. I enjoyed her in the Kanan comic and can't wait to read more about her in the Aftermath trilogy and A New Dawn. Hope she makes more further appearances. She's out there!! 🙂👍🌠🔥
I'm really happy that I play armada, I wouldn't have learned about this awesome character without it! I really like her view on the Empire because it seems like most people would share her views on the empire as a sometimes disagreeable but unprecidentedly stabilizing force in the galaxy.

Great video, I hope she crosses over into movies or TV shows at some point. I wanted to know if you could make a video of all the characters from comics and books that survived the first death star
Gallius Rax's plot to eliminate his competition sounds a lot like Natasi Daala's own plot to kill the warlords in Legends. Love how they find inspirations in the EU for the new canon.
In order to be a seperatist movement, they would have to be part of the New Republic in the first place and then seperate from them or fight for independence. That makes no sense. It also doesn't matter how much technology they have. A rebellion is simply a group of people rebelling against an existing regime in charge. But yes, once the tables turned after the Battle Of Endor, the Empire increasingly became the underdog, rebelling against the new rule of the Republic. They have been called "Imperial Remnant" instead though. The First Order is also basically a rebellion against the New Republic.
The new republic have two sides: The populists and the centrists (centrists wants a centralized power, closer to the empire). Many centrists senators (with their systems) wants exactly something like The Empire, and are secretly helping (0r being part of) groups like The First Order. The new republic is corrupting from the inside, while groups from the outside (including empire remnants) are joining. This is why Leia created the resistance. Because of the burocracy and inaction of the new republic, added to corrupted centrists senators. There are many systems under this senators government that are militarized and strong. At the same time, the first order is forming from outside the galaxy (so we don't know how big they can be).
TheAxeManGamer The New Republic is only corrupt thanks to Empire sympathizers in the senate who want as much power as possible for themselfs. So there goes that. Far superior technology like another superweapon that once again was completely destroyed by a handful of X-Wings. There goes that as well. And also the First Order has yet to get any shit done. So far it has only taken vast resources (and also children) from citizens to prepare a pointless war. New Republic FTW!
I'm kinda glad they re adding some black people to the Empire. I don't say that because I'm black, but it shows that the Empire really didn't care about race, they were really just specieist at the end of the day. I mean if anything, you should be angry about the Empire being depicted as simply old, white men.
All she wanted was the Empire, which would be ruled by duty, loyality, honor and order, not by terror, genocide and murder (something like Imperial Remnant from SW: Legends). When Sloane joined the First Order it seemed she would have her chance. Unfortunately all it was squandered beyond recognition when Snoke and general Hux came to power and corrupted her work, so it would become much, much worse than its imperial predecessor. A tragic end for an interesting character, who just wished the Empire to be more than just a plaything for Sith Lords.
I highly believe we will see her in the Battlefront 2 Campaign. Maybe we will see her "death" which might be at the hands of Iden Versio, but I hope not.
Thanks a lot! She is one of my favorite character from the Aftermath series. I’m looking forward to learn what happens to her after they fly to unknown space.... Ah, Rae Sloane. It's because of her (and the portrayal of the New Republic in Aftermath and Bloodline as inefficient mess) that I'm now pro-Imperial Remnant (still pro-Rebellion / anti-Empire though).
Is it possible that Slone died as Arliz Hadrassian during the Bloodline novel? The 2 characters seem to hint at similar traits. Especially in regards to strategy and patriotism
I did not read into carndals comment to mean she was dead. He asked if he could call her and have in weigh in on his 'revelation'. Why would he have tried to call if she was dead my dude?
they kept making war for 15 years after episode 6, at some point Thrawn led it, then Palpatine clones, then a peace treaty was signed and Darth Krayt became the new threat for generations
@@lukerope1906 (Major spoilers for the Aftermath trilogy and minor spoilers for Bloodlines) The majority of the Empire after Endor rallied behind Fleet Admiral Gallius Rax, but he was enacting a secret contingency plan called Operation: Cinder under orders from Palpatine, who had said that, if he ever died, the Empire deserved to die with him. He deliberately sabotaged the Imperial war effort, denying reinforcements to Imperial garrisons at key targets like the Kuat shipyards and Coruscant, allowing the New Republic to essentially take them with little resistance, and sabotaging any attempts at peace talks with the New Republic. This came to a head at the Battle of Jakku, about a year after Endor, where he rallied the entire Imperial fleet above Jakku, and waited there for months, deliberately trying to break the sanity and morale of Imperial forces. He knew the New Republic would have to send their entire fleet to defeat the Empire, and so, he planned to dump Sith Artifacts into the planet's core, which would've destroyed both the Empire and New Republic forces on the ground and around the plaent, while he escaped to Unknown Regions, with whatever few Imperials had survived the "Crucible" of Jakku and proved themselves worthy, to found a new Empire. Ultimately, his plan failed when Rae Sloane, an Admiral he had used as a scapegoat to sabotage peace talks earlier, assassinated him before he could blow up the planet, but she took a small number of Imperial cadets, as well as Brendol and Armitage Hux, into the Unknown Regions to create the First Order. Fighting on Jakku continued for months, as stubborn Officers tried to rally the Imperial forces, or just tried to take and many New Republic forces with them as they could, and there were still a few small remnants elsewhere in the Galaxy that hadn't joined Rax, but they were mostly put down fairly easily. The New Republic would know relative peace for the next few decades, to the point where they tried to demilitarize, and decentralize defenses. Princess Leia Organa found a proto-military group building up weapons and believed it might be a prelude to something bigger, but nobody really took it seriously, both because they didn't want to, and because Leia had recently been revealed as Darth Vader's daughter. Fed up, she retired to found the Resistance that we see in the Sequel trilogy. And that's pretty much the long and short of it. Granted, it's condensed down and simplified, especially the bit about Leia founding the Resistance, but that's the gist of what happened. If you want a more detailed version of it, I recommend checking out the Aftermath trilogy (For the stuff about Rax and the Battle of Jakku), and Bloodlines (For the stuff about Leia founding the Resistance).
I'd prefer if Snoke or Hux or both scene to usurp the remains of the Empire from Sloane and then turned it it into the first order. The First Order seems nothing like the empire Sloane wanted to create (one of order and efficiency, but not oppression). Sloane would probably call the First Order naive children pretending to be the once great Empire.
I do support the F.O (given that it is the only known faction that has some ties to the old Empire in the new canon), but this is true. I find them way too arrogant, and some of them even considers themselves to be superior than their predecessors. that's too much arrogance for what's now, the underdogs. lay off that mentality, and bring in a system to motivate people and recruit them instead of just relying on kidnapped kids. that shit will backfire sooner or later. also, the galaxy has plenty of people, no need to go that way. teaching children in regular society AND giving them opportunity to join, train and kick ass would work better. setting up youth ideological wings can also help in that, searching for motivated people that could also train to become officers.
@@pastelnuclear7356 Also, Snoke is creepy. There is no possible way to make him uncreepy and anything other than a horrible monster. Him and Kylo Ren aren’t anything other than blatantly bad.

Where'd the image of her as a grand admiral come from?
didnt sloane appear in rebels tv show on the geonosis episode
This Rae is better than TFA Rey! She's ALMOST Like a Female Thrawn
The real Rey
I did not read into carndals comment to mean she was dead. He asked if he could call her and have in weigh in on his 'revelation'. Why would he have tried to call if she was dead my dude?
What do we know about the Imperial Remnant in Legends?
they kept making war for 15 years after episode 6, at some point Thrawn led it, then Palpatine clones, then a peace treaty was signed and Darth Krayt became the new threat for generations
Thanks, I just realized that I asked the wrong question :) I meant to ask .......
What do we know about the Imperial Remnant in Canon?
Is Sloan basically a reworked Daala?
More of a Pellaeon I'd say. What I would give to have him back as the Watson to Thrawn's Sherlock.
She isn't mentally insane and is actually competent so nah
What genre would you like to see the most on a Star Wars movie?
