The Byway through Culford Wood actually passed through the trees before being straightened recently. No modification order was put in that I could see. This may have been the putting it back to the original route however for at least the last 16 years it was to the left through the trees where you filmed. And that was us on the quads just off on a 500 mile Green lane trip 🤣
There have been a few more closures recently, I've updated the GPX file but just keep an eye out for the signs, you'll be sorted tho, but that's why the latest route finishes where it does, because of the closures
Great video, I'm moving back to the area next month so I'll have to get the enduro wheels back in my 701 and check a few of these out once I've downloaded the OS app.
17:50 I know exactly where you are now. Those bumps! I've been up there a few times in my car. Feels a tad risky. Should be a road honestly. But you guys wouldn't like that I'm sure!
Great video, I've downloaded the route and cant wait to have a go at to. But as with previous routes of my own I can't get OS to follow me when riding I have to physically move the map. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong ?
This was brilliant video been doing thetford a while now and think our route is about 66 miles from west Stowe recognise a lot of the trails you are riding here but I’d like to do the extra bit you do where you turn right after the horses when you say coming into Brandon where can I find the fox that you said you would share please many thanks for the video again very good also liked where you parked looked safe
Cracking vid that mate and thanks for the Route download. Next time I’m down that way I’ll definitely have a go! How many miles had you got on the clock when you did your fork oil change……just to know?
About 4000 miles. I wanted to just freshen it up a bit before I do the Beacons Rally. The oil looked ok tho, gone a little mucky, but at least I know it’s all good now. Enjoy the route👍
Great video mate! I want to get into green landing ( I live in Essex so not far from thetford) but I have no idea how to go about it and don’t wanna accidentally ride illegally, What’s the first thing I should do? Buy a garmin then download and join trf and get the map on garmin? Thanks so much, maybe we can ride together soon!
@@bobbylord9948 using your phone is an easy way to- yes join the TRF, Essex has a great group of guys in their TRF. I did a vlog on Garmin v iPhone to use for navigation, so maybe have a look at that, lots of pros and cons to various systems, best having a wonder on TH-cam to do a bit of research
Great video. Just tried saving the row but it's not letting me. I'm on android if that changes anything? Can i use this route on outdoor active?? Thanks again 👍
Is this route fully open now and if so, is it possible to ride it at this time of the year or would it be too wet? I fancy having a crack at it within the next week or so. 👍
They’ve just shut it again, so the gpx route is correct - they have put signs up on the closed lanes. Thetford is good all year, it gets wet but not muddy
@@dylandowning5958 I've done a review of the bike, that lists most of the mods. Change tyres fairly often depending on what I'm doing be it trail riding or racing
Fabulous. I am 61 now and always dreamt of doing something like this. I am tempted to buy a CRF250 OR 300 and have a go but I'd get lost. I wish their was a club of old age trail riders.
61 is young - I raced MX with a guy in his 60s, saw on TV a guy running the London Marathon at 90 something - it's all about giving it a go. The TRF have all ages within their ranks, young and old, beginner and expert, defo recommend joining the TRF. My bike is a CRF450L, completely different beast to the 250/300Ls, they are quite tame in comparison. If you've got a T7 you might be better with something like a 690/701 to learn on, they are the same weight as the 250/300Ls but a way better bike and hold their value well.
buy one, get some proper knobby tyres and join the TRF , that then gets you into local groups that ride all across the country week in and out - i am 48 but i often ride with someone who is 73 and the vast majority of my regular group are 55-65 - many in TRF are middle aged 40/50's, the younger ones have yet to increase in count. It is actually an older mans game tbh so don't be put off, you would be welcome anywhere
this looks absolutely perfect for me. im new to trail riding, i did go to the abr festival and had the best time in years on my crf250l. is it worth joining the trf? theres a group near me.
It’s worth joining the TRF just for the green road book I feel. There isn’t a local group in Suffolk but I do try and go out with Norfolk/Essex groups. Depends what you want from it I guess, the GRM and the fact the TRF are the only bike group fighting legal battles to keep out green lanes open Ben’s the fee is well worth it 👍

Great vid again... I recognise a lot of those lanes from my recent trip to Hunstanton.

A y chance you can add the gpx file of the route. I did a bit of this on a 300L and was fine as a novice

some it will, a lot I'm guessing it won't

Yes with the right tyres. It’s very sandy in places and whooped out. But if you have the skills and the right tyres then will be great 👍
