Absolutely nailed it, not the first time Ive watched people do Bastard lane but definately the most entertaining and wettest lol, I ride a lot of solo(all my friends play golf ffs) and could never do this lane, someone said something about lack of riding when in a group, not sure it would be wise to do something like this solo, regardless of skill level, its more fun in a group and even the best fall off. All done on big heavy bikes too. Good skills.
Cheers steve appreciate the comment 👍 it was a very wet day so made it even better when you clear lane's like this i know it wasn't perfect but was a good effort by all of us i thought 👍 definitely more fun in a group sharing the experience with mates is priceless thanks for watching plenty more of this stuff coming this year hopefully 👍
Perfectly shows why big adventure bikes suck in these conditions. 250 enduro max. If you do get stuck at least it will lift out solo. Well done however for making it!
In your opinion of course 👍 im sure any one of us could of got unstuck on our own at any point to be honest but it definitely makes it easier if your mates help you out and have a laugh about it as you go etc all just part of having a good day out with mates on the bikes. Thanks for watching 👍
Not kidding: I've had a ttr125 stuck in the mud to where it took 2 people working very hard to drag it out...just barely. The lesson is that basically any bike can quickly become stuck to the point where 1 person can't move it without tools- like a winch.
Group rides bring logistical issues but loads of fun nonetheless. Looks like you all had a great time. Used to ride trails like that on trials bikes and motocrossers. Kudos for riding the adventure bikes.
Completely agree group rides on any bikes bring issues but long as everyone has a good time which its hard not to have a great time doing this awesome hobby keeps it interesting on the adventure bikes for me anyway thanks for watching cheers mate 👍
Some good riding there, seen many videos of lads on enduros struggling in place you nipped up. Id love a go at this one 🤩 great day out with the mates too.
Cheers mate 👍 yea ive seen a good few videos of people struggling on this one but was a great laugh giving it a go. I dont think the camera ever does the terrain justice though thanks for watching
Thanks for watching 👍 i dont use 1st gear i always start off in 2nd but i personally find it helps with grip getting goin doesn't ever struggle with the power of these bikes
nice vid, looks awesome! just ordered the 2024 model in black. hope you don't mind me asking, what screen do have and how is the airflow on the helmet at higher speeds?
Arrrr lovely them new colours look awesome 👌 im using the puig sports screen for extra air flow when off roading its perfect for me i can feel the air on my chest right where i want it but no buffeting on the helmet at all im 5'7'' for reference 👍
Looks awesome - I ride a Benelli Leoncino at the moment but am looking at an adventure bike but not got the longest legs which puts me off these big bikes. I also can't help but notice how I know an e-mtb would fly over all of those trails and maybe a little RE Himalayan would do the same (they aren't as tall either)...!??
I really wouldn't want to take a re himalayan up or down this trail and it probably wouldn't make it either with its limited ground clearance i think the camera smooths things out these are some steep steps.i think the tuareg is one of the lowest seat hight adv bikes it also has the option of a low seat might be worth trying 🤔 or get a re and not go down anything to lumpy?
@@ads_rides thanks for the advice - I'm going to look into the new 450cc Himi and also the X-Cape 650 (both have low seat height options) I'm doing an organised ride through the Himalayas this summer but next year want to ride down to Spain then across Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and back through Italy I don't think it will be as knarley as in your video but certainly a lot of distance and a lot of rough roads/riding through open desert terrain.
That looks a tough lane, have done it years ago, but only on a enduro bike, respect on a adventure bike, thinking of selling my T7 for a tuareg looks a good bike 👍
Thanks neil i was pretty happy to make it up this to be honest i think its more of a mental thing though as people talk about it like its un ridable so it creates a bit of fear that you cant do it but all went ok minus a couple of hiccups. Nice one if i see you before you do the deal your more than welcome to give mine ago and try it on the trails 👍
@ads_rides will try to do this! Technophobe!! I'm off work Sunday and Monday, will try then! I have a mint africa twin, but that lane looks like a bastard!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks fun though! 😁
Very challenging lane that, well done. There is a very narrow horse track which I think is part of that lane, it's on a steep incline with big boulders. Did you find that or attempt to go up it? I had to hand my hired Honda 250 over to one of the guides as it was beyond my competence!
Not sure about the horse track 🤔 the only bit not on the film is just a flowing gravel section with lots more puddles maybe you got taken off the route somewhere, cheers and thanks for watching 👍
@@ads_rides oh no, I do. I'd argue even better riding haha, but I'd like to experience trails all over the surface of the planet, and that looks properly entertaining. I'm in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California, so my backyard is effectively a mesh made up of thousands of miles of off pavement goodness to be had 😂
@TwoWheeledBooBear well that all depends on what type of riding you're into i suppose for me i dont think it could get better than wales hopefully you get to experience it one day mate 👍
Great riding. As far as I’m aware there is currently a voluntary TRO asking people to do the lane in the opposite direction. Might be worth double checking
@@ads_rides I was fairly new to adv, Ive ridden it around the ABR festival trails on road tyres lol didnt fall or stall once so obvs am a natural haha. Had plans to ride some trail on my 5 week tour of spain but a storm in Espinama and then headstock bearings needing fixing in the semi desert kept me on roads. Last August bank holiday I had a tidy sized crash on her. so she is laid up in garage right now but planning a youtube restore/rebuild soon. I am pondering whether to just get her as was, or to get some sort of rally styling done to her similar to what Thom Woodrow did to his xc on the Adventure bike TV. Main issue is the brackets for clocks and headlights are bust and need replacing. Pretty pricey for what they are on Fowlers etc, hoping to get some from breakers
@Scarletpimp72 best starting in some decent weather if youve not got proper tyre's when its dry its alot more forgiving but yea perfect place to start and get some confidence up 👍
Thanks for watching Martin 👍 yea definitely a bit more tricky on the big bikes but its all a good challenge and was with a great bunch of lads top day out 👍
Why not? Two of us was using 50/50 tyres and managed to do what everyone else was doing. When its rocky like this i find the difference between full on off road tyres to 50/50 gets less personally either that or my tyres are great on rock either way great fun
It definitely lives up to it's name this one and not one puncture all day it's more rock than slate but sharp all the same though thanks for watching 👍
Fair enough if waiting around and helping mate's out over obstacles isn't for you but for me this was one of the best days out on the bikes. Look at my two previous videos there is definitely more riding than waiting around but thanks for watching 👍
Takes all sorts. I’ve been riding 50 years and have never ridden in a group. Normally ride solo so I have a dual-sport bike that’s easy to pick up and with the right tyres on you very rarely get stuck anyway. Doing that lane on those bikes with those tyres in Winter is a bit like sending your goalie out wearing boxing gloves. It looked like a good workout anyway! 😉😉👍
This type of riding is always better in a group , much safer and able to help one another . The majority of people enjoy riding with friends , ur obviously some on with zero personality or friends and ride alone for this reason. Its not a choice
As long as there’s banter while hanging around no harm in a few stops! Plus this on your own on an adventure bike gives plenty of opportunity to get stuck!
Every splash is the sound of depreciation lol.
🤣🤣🤣 that sound went a long time ago mate

Seems perfect for big bike, with 250 it would be like walk in the park

Thanks for watching 👍 im riding a aprilia tuareg 660 there was 3 yamaha tenere t7's a yamaha world raid and a honda Africa twin 👍
what a mess, looks like big fun - especially the underwater sections 😆 Thanks for sharing this enspiring footage!
Mad respect mate, you made it look easy. What tyres are you running?
Cheers mate im using anlas capra x tyres they are a 50/50 tyre been a good all round tyre for me im currently on my second set of these 👍
Bloody awesome watch this is. Love it lads 👍
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching 👍

@TobotronPrime from what ive seen of the new himi 450 it looks very capable and probably more suited to what you're goin to be riding sounds good 👍
When was this trip? In which month?
@casparurban8730 this adventure was in February 2024 thanks for watching 👍
would be really nice if it had a setting that allows it to rev up to max 5000 rpm when clutch is pulled so one doesnt loose traction immediately :)
love those videos, keep them coming.
Thank you mate 👍 appreciate that hopefully 2024 will be a good year on the bikes exploring thabks for watching

Looks fun! I've done strata florida in my wj jeep and I've always wanted to do this lane, but don't know where it is😢
@terrystratford1235 send me a pm on my Instagram and ill send you the lane details,do you want to go up or down?

How do you like your mirrors? I’ve been thinking about getting something similar for my bike. Great video!
Awesome for the price been impressed with them the strap isn't the strongest (snap easily if pulled to hard) but work well thanks for watching 👍
You lot made that look hard work 😂
🤣🤣
@ads_rides fantastic trails round there mate 👌
@samb91a yea some great one's around here hopefully goin back soon 👍 thanks for watching mate

Wales is stunning but that place is ridiculously wet even in a drought ,speedos rather than alpinestars
@@christopherweeks3452 🤣 🚣♂️
@christopherweeks3452 🤣🤣 that is true can't be afraid of the odd puddle in wales 👍
awesome road and video 🤟💪... just one question, where did you get these small mirrors?
Thanks mate 👍 the mirrors are just cheap cycle mirrors off amazon 👍 thanks for watching
Looks like a lot of fun. Solid riding by all! Would love to ride this, but unfortunately I'm on the other side of the globe!
It was a great day had by all looking forward to our next outing 👍 thats a shame do you not have any similar over your way?

Proper adventure 👌 cheers for watching 👍
Good skills, and nice bike
Cheers mate 👍 loving the tuareg thanks for watching 👍
This was a good lane on my exc but id think twice about taking my t7 up there it all stlippy rock . Well done.
Thanks for watching Martin 👍 yea definitely a bit more tricky on the big bikes but its all a good challenge and was with a great bunch of lads top day out 👍
Impressive
Cheers mate 👍 thanks for watching
Proper trail that :) Well done!
Cheers 👍 and thanks for watching
Exactly my kind of track. Only it seems very short. Well done anyways. Would love to put my bike on this.

It's an unsurfaced road, perfectly legal and not exactly causing much of an issue for the "many" people around 🤷🏼
