as someone who likes looking at snakes but doesn’t feel ready to have one as a pet, that orange stripe is the closest i’ve gotten to just saying screw it…. what a cute pattern 😭
I'm in love with the high expression Conda. She looks like as of she was born a Super Conda, but wanted to be a regular Conda, so she rolled around in some dirt and only a few spots stuck.
@@LazyVoxel Yes. Basically, condas have one conda gene and one non-conda gene. Supercondas have two conda genes. When breeding, parents pass one random copy of the gene down. For a superconda, it means both parents need to pass down the conda gene. One parent was a superconda and was guarenteed to pass down the conda gene, but it was a 50/50 with the conda parent.
@@LazyVoxel Yes. Superconda Hognose Snake is rare but not SO rare that you will never get one. How you know its a super, is that they have no pattern and have a stripe along their back.
I've noticed this before, but it seems that the levender gene seems to interact with the conda gene in such a way that it reduces the pattern far more than normal, no matter if the snake actually is lavender or only het for it. It's really cool I think Edit: With that in mind, I would guess that both conda babies have a high chance of being het for lavender, but with the supercondas you can't tell
Yeah I was wondering that too but I can't tell if it's just because mirage is a really interesting conda too so his genes are just strong? It would be interesting for them to do some kind of a test about if het lavs condas are interesting like that!
So I'm not sure the research on this, but lavender *might* be a hypo gene? I've tried finding out just while looking up morphs, and I remember at least one morph "dictionary" saying that. I couldn't find a good source however, so if anyone does, I'd love to know.
YES! So glad you're keeping her! It makes me so sad when you make something for the first time that you're super excited about (more than usual) and just to sell/adopt it away and not keep any of the brand new first ever you produced. Beautiful babies!
that logo transition to the video with a crack is so cute and fitting for an egg video. if your different types of videos have different transitions id love it.
I love the interaction between Ed and Emily. When she was trying to open the incubator and he was messing with her about the code it’s just so nice to see two people who truly love each other. Great job guys.
Emily and Ed, maybe you guys are smelling some sort of terpene (a type of VOC). Menthol (a component of mint smell) and polyisoprene (the major component of both natural and synthetic rubber) are both terpenes.
The little heads poking out of the egg reminds me of my dogs who will sit inside and stick their heads out the dog door to see if anything is interesting enough to make the effort to go outside 😂
That lavender super conda baby is awesome! But I actually REALLY love that high expression conda! I've been watching you guys for years and I don't remember seeing such a conda baby with so few spots!
Bro i don’t know why but the autistic joy i got when i saw this thumbnail, i went from watching one snake discovery video to immediately opening this one lol
I am not a snake owner but love your videos! The fact that so many people had different smells from the baby snakes is wild. I NEED A SNIFF FOR MYSELF! 😂
As another snake enthusiast I saw the thumbnail and just gasped. I have literally been waiting for this clutch all season because I wanted to see a superconda lavender so badly. Great job guys!!
At 10:01!!! A fellow hognose breeder and I, in the UK, are exploring the possibility that het lavenders have a visual tell. So far, most proven het lavenders have an orange section on their bellies, just above the vent. The 66% het female that I have, AND the proven het male that I intend to breed her with next year, both have the orange patch. I think your little female at 10:01 is carrying the lavender gene!!!! Sorry, got really excited there. lol
I can’t explain to you how happy you make me! You are a celebrity in my mind. Don’t let one mean word put you back! But honestly I literally can’t explain how happy you make me!
IM ALWAYS SO EXCITED WHEN I SEE NEW BABIES!! Can’t believe I made it here within the first hour! Just became the highlight of my day! Keep up the good work!
I am Joy, watching the videos when the babies are born. But what I enjoy the most, is the excitement in your voice, and on your face. You sound and look like a little kid at Christmas every time.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤it.
Congratulations on your first lavender superconda hognose! I've been wanting to see one for a long time now. This video makes me wish 1) I could take proper care of a snake, and 2) you shipped out of the continental 48 states. I would have loved to put in a preorder for a lavender superconda hognose from a future clutch.
Ed and Emily have the same energy I do when I see a shiny pokemon 😂 It's understandable considering how exciting this is each year, but I finally have something to relate it to when you have rarer percentages for specific morphs.
Lavender hognose and banana balloon are my dream snakes. The lavender is a really beautiful snake. I have been a fan for 5 years now and I have got to experience so many beautiful snakes.
Wonderful.... I was waiting so long for the newest hatching video.... And now a superconda lavender ist hatching.... I think i know which baby will be a new member of you snake family... Every baby looks nice.... Congratulations.....🎉
Wow, you've had some good luck getting female babies with the cool morphs this year! First the gorgeous axanthic aberrant conda from Sol and Hen Wen, now this stunning lavender superconda from Lilly and _probably_ Mirage!
Congratulations on a stellar clutch of beautiful hognose babies...especially that GORGEOUS Lavender Superconda. I would name her Amethyst...she is beautiful.
SupercondaLavenderXanthicandAlbino What morphs are hiding in these eggs, they're hatching now so let's go No matter what these snakes are cool and completely adorable SupercondaLavenderXanthicandAlbino! I had to play around with the syllable stress on the word 'adorable' to get it to scan properly, but I'm happy with it.
So glad you guys got a super conda lavender. Was hoping more in the clutch would be. Love seeing the hatching videos always exciting to see what will hatch.
I love lavender Hognose snakes, so many beautiful babies. I love the high expression conda. I would love an update on some of the older snakes we haven’t seen in a while.
So proud of yall! I can't wait to see the lavender super conda grow with yall and see her name and future babies!! (If yall keep her) I also love the conda that had reduced spots and the faded line one ❤❤❤❤
i've been watching your hognose hatching videos for years. i guess i never understood how truly tiny they are as babies. i went to a reptile expo recently and there was one hognose breeder there, and the babies were so unbelievably tiny and adorable 😭 i've been thinking about getting one for so long but seeing how small they are really makes me second guess my ability to keep it alive 😓
That orange stripe is giving the lavender a run for its money, she's gorgeous!
Absolutely! Loving the orange striped baby as well
I feel like their name should be pork but then again I’m hungry

It's a really pretty freckling! I love aberrant patterns because they always make interesting future generations and are just beautiful.
I love that Emily is so excited about the lavender that she skips over the fact that 2/3s of the clutch was superconda. 💜

Well the lavender and one other superconda had hardly any stripe down their backs, so that could be the lavender gene?
I would be curious to see if they pair them again next year if they get high expression condas again or even those standard conda patterns again.

I like this explanation. It'd be fun to pull in one of the wacky chemistry creators and see if they can put a name/names to the baby snake smell.
Oh yes, they should get a GC-MS to find out what it's made of. Maybe Clint has a contact in university for a lil students study for that!?!
