    Hi Dave, really enjoy your videos. Places like Forestry England say get out for well being but unfortunatley fail hopelessly in giving worth while info on local areas, maps and walks etc. I rely heavily on 'youtubers' such as your good self to give decent informative info to help me plan my visits. Subscribed :)

    Dave if you cross the road into the other " inclosure" to the east and walk up right into the back of it you'll find a shipping container among other things. It's an all arms pilot training facility for teach "temperate woodland" survival I know this because a special forces mate used to instruct there, maybe you could do a video on that??

      Thanks Lee. I will have to look out for that, the next time i am filming in that area.

    Another lovely video. Never owned or operated a go-pro. I’ve seen them stuck on looneys helmets as they jump out of aircraft. The quality seems very good indeed. Don’t they have a fish eye lens?
    Very tranquil walk.
    Keep safe from New Zealand 🍺🍻

      Thanks. I tend to use the wide screen , rather than linear, on the Gopro so that I can get as much of the landscape into the picture as possible but the downside is that there can be a "fish eye" look when looking at things close up. As you say, they really are designed as "action cameras but at least they are not too heavy to carry around on a walk! As always, thanks for watching.

    Hi there. I’ve just been walking at the King’s Hat this morning ... I should have watched your video clip first! It was very waterlogged and muddy in places but great to explore another part of the forest. It was interesting to hear your comments on the King’s hat and how it is marked as a clump of trees (which look a bit like a hat) on a very old map... I love to hear these little anecdotes .. thank you!

      Glad that you got to explore somewhere new for you, Elizabeth (even if it was muddy!) ..... it is a great walk in the Summer! Thanks for watching.

    First of all, the picture quality is very good on your new camera. Three whippets! You must like punishment Dave.
    Like the new pup. I guess the other two have accepted him, without feeling in any way, put out by his presence in their home.

      Thanks for the feedback on the picture quality Lionel. I am still trying to get the settings correct for the image stabilization! Yes, all three of the hounds are getting on well together which is great.

    Hello Dave, that walk was on very familiar country for me as I spent most of my years from 11 years old playing along that part of the Beaulieu river, That second bridge is called Hoss Bridge it is not marked on any map I know as that but all the commoners call it Hoss bridge. Nice walk thank you.

    • @DaveFord

      Thanks for the information on Hoss Bridge, Peter. A great place to play & explore as a youngster I should imagine.

    GoPro 8 is much better!

    • @DaveFord
      @DaveFord  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Roger. I must admit I am not 100% sure about the image stabilization. I was hoping that it would be much better than the 7 (which wasn't too bad) but I am finding that there seems to be a "wobbly" effect when I am standing still! I expect I need to adjust a setting - more investigating needed!

    Good evening Dave another champion walk in the New Forest, loved this one looked and sounded great. Loving the GP, looks cracking. Dont know how much you like to adjust your footage in post, if you do, maybe set the GP colour profile to "flat" rather than "GP" will give you more wiggle room 👍 have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat 🌞♥️👍🤗☕

      Thanks for the info / advice re the colour profile. Something for me to investigate further I think. As always, thanks for watching. :)

    Hi Dave. Do you have a new camera ? It's just this film looks quite contrasty than your normal stuff.. I could still see it okay. I thought I would only mention it in case there's a setting on your camera that's changed. Lovely to see the new forest again. I must get back there. Maybe in the Autumn.

    • @DaveFord
      @DaveFord  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I was using a new Gopro Hero 8 Black for the first time. Most of the settings were on "Auto" although I was just using the standard Hypersmooth stabilization - I thought it was a bit "wobbly" so will use the "boost" in future. It was a strange day with the weather as one minute there was bright sunshine and the next, quite dark as it clouded over and of course Gopro cameras are never that great in low light.

    • @davidkeel
      @davidkeel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ah okay Dave. I don't know a thing about the GoPros. Sorry to mention it. I just wanted to let you know. Maybe it was the tricky light on the day. Nice video. As all of yours are.

    Hi Dave - just want to say that when your latest video finds it's way onto my phone, it has become a bit of a highlight of the week. I really enjoy them. And I love all the interesting facts that you come up with.
    My friend, Lee, introduced me to your channel and he is a keen walker who can often be found hiking around The New Forest. I have joined him on occasion, as I don't mind a good walk too.
    The dogs are all putting in a great shift here just being dogs.
    Great stuff. Atb - Ric
