I honestly think that Born Pink sounds SO DIFFERENT from The Album!!! They brought so many different vibes to the project and we have now songs we never thought we would hear the girls singing

I think Pink Venom was a grower for me for sure, there's no denying the chorus is painfully catchy and I find myself repeating it to myself all day long. What redeemed Pink Venom so highly for me was the fact Shut Down follows it on the track order. Pink Venom follows Blackpinks typical song format and isn't unlike anything we've heard from them before and I think this is what they wanted. People really hated Pink Venom for sounding too 'Blackpink' and wanted the girls to try a new sound out - I think Shut Down does exactly that. Anything people said about PV is quite literally shut down in Shut Down... a new sound for the girls, sure its still a similar format to some of their other songs but Shut Down was a refreshing surprise for BP. 'its not a comeback since we never left' they are dispelling any rumours of them not working on their music and its a clapback to haters, a new concept for BP (unless you consider 'You Never Know'. The album is then followed by tracks that sound entirely different to anything BP has ever done before and I think that's the main message Shut Down wanted to convey. But giving the girls 8 songs is tragic and they've confirmed all promo for Born Pink has conclude, such a disappointing era for such a solid album
RIGHT it’s the Lisa’s “get em get em get em” and her section of the chorus for me
I think pink venom got hate because it wasn't a typical black pink song. The anti-drop was something they hadn't done before and it was shocking plus the rap was a huge switch up in instrumental. I personally loved it
@@athenaconde2955 Oh that's interesting! I thought it sounded more Blackpink than ever. I mean BP are no strangers to switching up instrumentals mid song (acoustic guitar to EDM beats in LSG for example) and structure wise its pretty similar to their other songs, Jennie & Lisa opening, Rose & Jisoo alternating verses and taking the bridge & the standard Jenlisa double rap after the first main chorus. Ending the song with the ratata's is similar to HYLT's dumdumdum's and RFL's lalala's the DNA is so similar to any other BP track we've seen & them using traditional instruments in their openings isn't new to us. I do give credit that the 90's style instrumental during jenlisa's rap was entirely new and so addictive. But yes, I love Pink Venom so much now I just felt it was entirely BP in nature!
and yes, sorry the anti-drop was entirely new which is why I feel people have it stuck in their heads 24/7, even my friends who don't like Blackpink love PV purely for the chorus alone!

blackpink‘s content is every two years they drop an album, go in tour with the few songs they have and then it cycles again 😭 we are always starving
i respect Teddy’s role when it comes to Blackpink’s discography, however, it’s clear in this album that the girls are more than capable of working with other producers outside of YGE & theblacklabel. the songs that Teddy isn’t the head producer/writer of are SONICALLY (& objectively) better. Teddy used samples/interpolations of other songs in Pink Venom & Shut Down, & gave us Ready For Love (which was leaked literally two years ago)-which screams lazy to me. the only song that he didn’t miss on was Hard To Love, but like i mentioned, he wasn’t even the head producer of that.
anyways justice for Jisoo & her solo (Yeah x3 will suffice for now)!! justice for Hard To Love (since some ppl were hating on Rosé, even though she’s the literal heartbeat of the group), & justice for better promotion, better treatment, & better respect for Blackpink from YGE.
We'll see in another 2 years! I say bc Teddy is clearly going in shifts year to year, cuz I'm expecting next year Somi's second album to drop & Somi is Teddy's artist under his own label (TheBlackLabel) bc her first album dropped last year when BP was on hiatus & she hasn't dropped anything this year (yet, I don't think she will in the next few months but she may suprise us!) & I know TBL is gonna have a girl group in the next couple years probably, With the girls pretty much being denied to participate in the production or not being creditied too, I think thats a YG thing bc Somi is very much involved in the production side of her music. But I agree since D4 I've been up & down with BP's music but thats also been the case for the music coming out of YG as a whole! it's kinda shocking to see in 2015/6 YG was probably the second biggest K-Pop label next to SM Entertainment (whos first bc of their roster of groups/talent & Lee Soo Man (who I hate the guy but i have no choice but to give him his flowers here) pretty much picked up where Seo Taiji left off in starting K-Pop) & now their easily in last past amoungst the top 4 bc HYBE has pretty much taken 2nd place (& obviously the scandals involving a couple people, including the founder of YG Entertainment (YG Himself) didn't help YG at all)

i believe lovesick girls and shut down are their best pink ver. and black ver. title tracks honestly, and i really hope to see more singles with this vibes, like chorus and outros with more lyrics and less of ratatata etc, it feels fresh but still backpink, idk

blackpink had such a strong beginning and their treatment breaks my heart. I was in love with their music and concept but after KTL, a lot of their tracks started sounding the same and following a very similar pattern, which is definitely no fault of their own. Shut down in my opinion, is one of their best songs in a while but ygs whole treatment and attitude towards their music and promotion has just really broken my heart. how little songs they have is so confusing considering their talent.
TBH I won't be suprised, because I'm reading the signs from YG, every single group has made a comeback this year, Treasure made one today so twice for them. I'm pretty sure YG's new girl group will probably be debuting next year. & I will not at all be suprised if they have songs that were originaly ment for BlackPink, bc thats what happend with 2NE1 & BlackPink, (& bc it also SEEMS that Choice37 is their producer) which is not fair to anyone bc theres gonna be hate for the new girl group from blinks & the new girl groups fans will hate BP!
Tbh I think they’re songs are diverse but their title tracks have the sam formula that drives me crazy. Like why is it always Jennie, Lisa, rose or Jisoo, Jennie chorus, Lisa rap or both lisa and Jennie rap, rose and Jisoo pre chorus, Lisa chorus, rose and Jisoo bridge, and then ending the song with sounds and words that sound like sounds.

What I really like about this album is how different it is. Every song is something they never did before, even pink venom, that chorus is crazy, that's why some people loved it, and others didn't. But that's a good thing, I don't want them to do the same all over again, you know.
I mean yes pink venom was different and also shut down was s nive change but the rest of born pink is just basic blackpink and also less diverse than the album, i dont know why ive seen a lot of comments about the diversity but i find rhe album more diverse in sounds.

Pink Venom = HYLT
Shut Down = Pretty Savage
Typa Girl = Crazy Over You
Yeahx3 = Bet You Wanna
Hard To Love = LSG
The Happiest Girl = You Never Know
Tally = LTHM
RFL = Ice Cream
it's not 100% accurate resemblance, especially in some cases for example I'd say LTHM sounds more diverse than Tally, Pink Venom has a better chorus than HYLT, Typa Girl and Crazy Over You have totally different vibes despite the energy in their voices being very similar, and RFL is definitely a better song than Ice Cream overall objectively. So everything just makes both albums balanced

They were gone for 2 years, and they just gave a FULL album with EIGHT songs (1 solo and 1 that was leaked 2 years ago). What promotion did they get for this album? The darkass Jimmy Kimmel performance? That boring radio interview? Those Tiktok videos? To think that their contract is about to expire and they were still given bare minimum. I hope they don't renew their contract with YG.

The anti-drop chorus is perfect for Pink Venom if you consider the connotations of pink & venom. Something that's not overtly aggressive (pink) but in drip drops will insidiously take hold of you (venom). Anything more climatic would be just the bite & not the deceivingly sweet but overpoweringly venomous.

she has 11 luxury global campaigns and her face is literally everywhere. that’s what brands do when they love their global ambassador so much, because she’s so successful. She definitely has the biggest impact in the fashion industry out of the BP girls (I’d go as far and say in the whole kpop industry)

A lot of people don't recognize Lisa singing together with Rosie on the bridge of "The Happiest Girl" and when you hear their voices isolated, it sounds so good. I never knew their vocals would blend so good together like that.
I first listened to this album on a road trip I was taking on my own and bro when I tell you as soon as happiest girl started playing I started SOBBING my eyes out,, I don't know what it is since I've never been through a heartbreak like that but it still makes me cry whenever I listen to it I feel like they managed to convey the feelings they wanted to show with this song really well
To me, the b-sides is where BLACKPINK stands out the most, I like most of their title tracks but none of them has hit me as hard as their first and up until Kill This Love. But I always enjoy their b-sides since they're so different from their "formula" and we get to see all the girls shine. Yeah Yeah Yeah and Hard to Love are my favorites from the album :)

Pink Venom grew on me, especially after they released the performance video. I wish the sound leaned more on the "cult" vibe, because I LOVE the voices chanting BLACKPINK. Shut Down IMMEDIATELY destroy me.. like how you gonna start a hip hop heavy track with string??!!! ngl I finished listening to the album being so conflicted. I was crying because Hard to Love, Happiest Girl, and Tally was so emotional. but I got angry because the album was so short, I couldn't be angry for so long cause the songs are so good. then, I ended up yearning for more. and I repeat this cycle everytime I listened to Born Pink T_T
btw, even tho it feels nice to end the album with the upbeat RFL, I think everyone can agree it doesn't belong in Born Pink. they should've release it as a single at the same time it was released in the game
THAT'S SO ME. Honestly if this album had more tracks(even 2 just to reach 10 full tracks) i would have gave it a 10, but honestly the fact that it's so short and always leaves me wanting more just makes me give it a 9
Completely agree about what you said about having PV being more of a cult-like/ edgy and dark mysterious concept. When I saw the concept teasers for it I thought that they were gonna lean that way. And tbh the vocal line parts did go well with it, especially with Jisoos gas mask, and Rosé's black heart and rock and roll moment. But the rap line parts seemed just like the usual girl crush and it didn't seem too cohesive with the vocal line parts. Still a bop tho

the only disappointments had with BORN PINK was it needs more songs like 8 songs ? was not enough i need more and why even have ready for love in this album ? like those are the only two negatives I have especially since we waited 2 years like all the songs in BORN PINK except for ready for love was fine, Shut Down was in my opinion their BEST tittle track as for Pink Venom its slowly growing on me , out of all the ballads blackpink had like stay , hope not and you never know The Happiest Girl was their best ones they have ever put out , typa girl and tally was good too , yeah yeah yeah was different but i enjoyed it a lot , Hard to love was a solo song but i think Rosé shined so much i would have preferred it if it was included in her solo debut album though but thats okay.. every song showcased every members talents and all blackpink member shined so much they put so much diversity in the album and thats okay with me every song was bops and no skips again except for Ready for Love im so sorry for those who like ready for love i just do not like it
