How much pages is the maximum?

Hi! The max book width is 1.5 inches, which is about 300 sheets of copy paper.

I just got mine. The box was damaged so I want to ask a question. It turned on, warmed up, timer worked, but when I ran my hand over the opening only the top half where the button is seemed to give off a lot of heat. While near the back there didn't seem to be much coming out. Is this normal or is defective? I haven't tried it with a book yet because I am waiting on more glue strips to come so I don't ruin the ones that came with it. You only get three if you order the pink.
