@@zetaviodeloryan5381 D&D it was a real success in 90s and 2000s here in Brazil, me and many other children spent our childhood watching this cartoon and it was a shock never to know if they came home or not. What you did was realize a dream of thousands of children from the 90s, so on behalf of all children aged 20 to 40 years here in Brazil, thank you very much.

This was amazing. This was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. Im now a 43 year old guy who just got a bit teary when the kids got to go home. I cannot thank you enough for all of your hard work on this.

Finally! After thirty five years.....grew up with this, glad Hank and Sheila finally became a thing....everyone was in character....I always thought Eric was the best character, he was much more complex than Hank, with an obnoxious exterior hiding a truly good person....bravo!

This was my favourite show as a kid in the 80s, I had assumed that the comic would be the best we could expect, but this is perfect, thank you to everyone involved in the production.

Questions about the new ending....SPOILERS
The script ended with Dungeon Master saying, “The choice my children, is yours.” I chose to add the extra scenes on because of a few issues: In other presentations of this script on youtube, the open ended aspect of the script was criticized. People wanted to know what happened next. The script was open ended because it was to leave open the possibility for a 4th season. Since that never happened, I made the assumption that the kids did choose to go home. We definitely know that Bobby did because he is seen in Terry’s dream of the future in The Girl Who Dreamed Tomorrow. Shelia would not have stayed in the realm with Bobby leaving. Hank, as the leader, must do his last job as leader and lead the kids home. Eric staying in the Realm is too much of a stretch. He wants to go home so bad, the idea of him staying would make no sense. Diana has no reason to stay. Her love Kosar is no longer in the Realm and it is established that her relationship with him would happen in an age to come. Which left Presto. Who had already agreed to stay in the Realm once before in the Night of No Tomorrow. Who more than anyone was trying to become better at his role as a wizard, and who has a love interest just like him. Dungeon Master specifically told Presto in The Last Illusion that “find her and you may find the way home." But in that episode, there was no opportunity to get back to Earth. Unless Dungeon Master had another meaning: Varla is Presto's home. Dungeon Master also prophecies that Varla was just like Presto. Both were blessed with wonderous power. Power that would grow as they both grow. It also seemed to make sense to me that Venger’s new purpose would be to right the wrongs of his past. And by agreeing to train Presto, he makes good on his first promise to the kids. That and I just had to see them get together!

O que eu achei mas maneiro foi que eles não redesenharam e nem adaptaram os personagens para os padrões atuais. Eles, REALMENTE, tiveram o trabalho de "recortar" os personagens dos capítulos antigos e colocaram nesse capítulo final.
Meus muito agradecimentos aos envolvidos por esta produção e que este presente que nos deram perdure para sempre.
Sim frame a frame, foto por foto, técnica antiga rotoscopia, que é muito mais difícil de animar, porém o resultado é excelente...como vimos aqui, em Branca de Neve da Disney em 19837, e nos desenhos da Filmation (He-man e She-Ra) nos anos 80.

This wasn't just a great conclusion to the series, it's one of the best if not the best episode in the series! What a journey and what a great ending. I read the comic and the voiced script but this is the animation we've been waiting for. Sound isn't perfect but it's great for what you have to work with and the added touches referencing past episodes are incredibly well put together. Bravo guys, bravo!

Oh my gosh... I love how at the end credits the scroll is from right to left until it comes back to the Dungeons & Dragons ride where we finally see the kids coming out of the portal. And the new sign reading "This way to Presto's Castle" literally brought tears to my eyes!

I am pleasantly stunned. I've read the script. I've heard the live reading. Even read the fan-made comic. But never did I think I'd actually see the final episode in this manner. The voices, sound, animation, everything is spot-on. Thanks for making me a 14-year-old D&D fanatic again on Saturday morning. And thanks for the wonderful sense of closure and wonder. Bravo.
I never read the comic, or the script/live reading. Does this end the same way as those? What are the differences? Or is there any difference, other than the medium of course?
@@CosmicG777 The comic (in Portuguese) and live reading were both based on the original script, so they were all the same. (Though I don't recall Presto staying behind, but it's been a while.)
@@CosmicG777 The official script ends at 27:58 in the video, with Dungeon Master offering them a choice. They left the ending open on purpose, in case there was going to be an additional season, which sadly, there wasn't.

I remember watching this drawing with my father when I was 6 years old. I remember him saying that he watched a lot in his teens. At the time, I didn't understand the story, I only became interested in the work when I was 13 years old. And when I asked my dad the ending, he said he didn't know why he never had one. Now, with my 22 years, gave us an outcome! I'm going to watch with my dad because he always wanted to know the ending. @@maxbrandt6 The script for the episode has been out for a very long time (since the show aired, I believe... but it got cancelled before this finale went into production)
If you want a great alternate finale, look up the car ad from Brazil that uses a live-action version of the show. It's fantastic what they did, even if it was just for a car advert, and really shows how much Brazil loves the cartoon.

Just a pity that Henrique Ogalla, Bobby's Brazilian voice actor, passed away early in this year... he'll be dearly missed in Brazil (along with Ionei Silva and Miguel Rosemberg, Dungeon Master's two voice actors in Brazil).

We can only imagine how many painstaking hours (full of love for the show of course!) you guys spent in making this dream come true (or for our heroes, the end to their nightmare, finally). Its easy to see the amount of work put into this, such a love letter to the original. Im amazed to live in a world where such a thing exists, instead of complaining that this was not done, you guys went ahead and made it happen. This gives me some hope for the world ahead

Wonderful, thank you. The audio version Requiem in the DVD was not enough. This was such an adult cartoon with themes of good v evil and of redemption (Star Wars anyone) We 80's kids were so lucky.

I was lucky enough to be one of the ones to get to hear the radio adaption of the last episode. I remember sitting there and and visualizing everything. This however is even better. Thank you so much for bringing that episode to life. As my daughter was growing up, my wife and I were able to get to show her all the episodes that were aired on TV that we both got to watch during our childhoods, but never this episode. Tonight we sat together as a family and watched this episode and finally had closure with the story that we all loved. All I have to say is wow, what a roller coaster ride! Let's ride it again, hehe
This was truly special. My older brother introduced first edition D&D to me and my younger brother back in the late 70s and it's been a lifetime passion. We watched the original series on TV when it ran and were disappointed it had no finale. Thank you for giving this to us. It was obviously a labor of love. It has all the hallmarks of the original series and a touch of your own magic. Worth the wait.
A tough balancing act for sure. I used a 3d image for Hanks bow and we felt it looked okay. But the various portals were at one time also 3 renderings and they totally looked out of place. Tough act to balance. We tried to make the whole thing look like it was done by the same people, but with our current technology.

I like how Presto called the redeemed Venger Merlin, in reference to how Venger pretended to be Merlin in The Night Of No Tomorrow.

The post credit scene was longer but never completed. The only thing I was proud of was the sign, and I felt it showed enough to let the audience know that Presto did succeed.
I'm speechless to express my gratitude. It was many years of waiting to finally now close to my death to finally be able to leave with my dream finally realized! thank you to all of you who finally gave us this long awaited episode.From one fan to another fan.

I'd like to say a massive thank you to all the people behind this production, last episode of D&D Requiem, the animation is spot on.
Myself like a lot of D&D fans have been waiting for this for years and actually believed it wouldn't ever get made.
Now us D&D cartoon fans finally have closure, I actually got quite emotional at the end watching this.
My darling wife, who watched me work on this as the honey-do list got longer and longer ALSO thought it would never get made. :)
Great job, thank you for this masterpiece, all the Brazilian fans waited for this last episode for a long time!

I always felt that the world couldn't end because dungeon and dragons didn't have a finale, well, way to go guys, now the world can end.
Nice touch with the twist ending!
It's kind of bitter sweet with Presto staying behind (his family back home would be worried sick about him), however if he in fact became a powerful wizard, he would probably have the ability to jump back and forth between worlds and visit his family from time to time.
Also Bobby keeping his promise to reunite with his girlfriend got me misty-eyed!
This ending opens the door for an entire spin-off series about the adventures of Presto and Uni!
I've been recently watching this series on DVD and I thought about the final episode and found THIS!

The twist ending was something we felt had to be done. Other presentations of this script on youtube led many commenters to say, "so what did they do? Did they choose to go home or what?!" We felt that since we never got a fourth season then logically the kids did choose to go home. Sheila's line about their parents missing them was put in so that it wouldn't seem like they were just abandoning Dungeon Master. The reason we had Presto stay really is because of the connection to Varla. The episode she was in had a profound effect on me as a nerdy 11 year old kid and I couldn't imagine them not being together. Also we wanted to tie the episodes together, Hank and Shelia holding hands, Bobby's pulling out Terry's necklace, and Venger's new role as Presto's teacher was a fulfilled promise that he made all the way back in Episode 1 (when Venger pretended to be Merlin to trick Presto into staying) Venger shoving Presto was our way of letting the audience know that the new Venger still has a rough edge!
All things in life need closure. I always use to think about this there is no Final Episode in which they can go home. Thanks for creating this episode was waiting for years. This is a happy closure.
In one episode Dungeon master said, "Venger once was good" where he stops Shadow Demon to harm these kids after the deal.
In another episode, there was Venger's sister collecting rings to become more powerful. She is the daughter of the Dungeon master.
Presto got his love back in a wonderful land.

I own the 27 episodes and have always loved this show but today I cried tears of joy its been 35 years I been waiting on those kids to get home thank you so much for this i knew vengure was his son I knew I laughed and cried it was absolutely beautiful

What a happy ending, Presto gets the girl at the end and stays behind to become a wizard like Merlin. What a way to end the series
Good Lord, for being fan made this is fantastic. Besides a couple awkward sound-design moments and voice-overs, everything else works like magic. I swear it's 1984 again and I'm sitting cross-legged below our 19" Magnavox lost in the realm of Dungeons and Dragons.
I have been waiting 35 years for this godsend. And the little touches you added at the end: the locket from Girl Who Dreamed Tomorrow, the girl from Last Illusion. Chef's kiss! This was perfect! And bonus points for using the more accurate (and better, IMO) later seasons opening titles as well!
2nd season's is definitely a better opening sequence. =] It was not remastered for the dvds, and only included (in bad quality) as a bonus separate from the episodes. Ryan made it as better quality as he could and used it here. I was in awe when I saw it at the start. =]
