  • Hey there, garden enthusiasts! In this video, I'm going to show you how I installed a super easy drip irrigation system for my home backyard garden. This system is going to save me so much time by automatically watering my garden, delaying watering if it rains, and it even mixes up and fertilizes my plants!
    I show you which Drip Depot drip irrigation kit I am using and details on the RainPoint WiFi enabled automatic water timer with soil sensor that runs my drip irrigation system. I'll break down every part of the system and explain why it's important, so you'll have a clear picture of how it all works to keep your plants happy and healthy.
    But the best part is, I'll take you through the whole installation process from start to finish. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, my easy-to-follow instructions will make you a drip irrigation pro in no time. No more stressing about watering your garden by hand - we're going to make it efficient and lush!

    How sweet you are! I have flirted with which system to use. Thanks for the in-depth tutorial.

    You are such a great teacher! I love how you explain everything! So how many rows of drip tape did you put in the first bed? Two 8-inch drip tapes on each edge and two 12-inch drip tapes in the middle? Did the drip imiters get clogged with soil after a season? (the ones in your aunt's garden that have been going for a while} Thanks again!!!!

      I currently have 14 rows of drip tape. I could add more if I wanted to, you just have to make calculations to see how many total emitters your system can handle. The system at my Aunt's garden works great, no issues or clogging. I flushed it out twice this year to keep it clean.

    I love this video. I would have loved to see you plant all those plants.
    I used Drip Depot too. I installed it myself. Having raised beds you need T adapters and elbow fittings but everything in the perma-loc system just locks together. Just map out your design first. The system was so much cheaper than I preconceived.

      I agree. It was a great price in my opinion for a decent drip irrigation system.

    This video does look much easier than most I’ve watched. I have 10 1’ and 3’ high raised beds. I’m not sure if the tubing will be long enough to go up the sides of all the high beds though. I still can’t pull the trigger on a kit

      Drip depot has kits for raised beds too

    Fantastic tutorial on a subject most channels give a bare mention. Will watch it again and plan to order two systems. Do you receive a commission?

    How do you figure out how many minutes to run the drip system? Also, is there a big difference between drip tape and the quarter inch drip tube with emitters?

    • @JerrasGarden
      @JerrasGarden  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Every garden is different and you have to experiment to figure out how long to water and how often to water. It depends on how hot it is and the soil. I have sandy soil which dries quickly but then I have a good 12-15 inches of heavily composted soil on top that does hold onto water longer. Right now I am running my drip system for 30 minutes every 2 or 3 days. If I get rain then I skip. I don't think there is much difference between drip tape or tubes. My drip tape is flat but then inflates like a tube when the system is running. The emitters I have dispense 0.25 gallons of water per hour.

      @JerrasGarden Thank you. I got my drip tube from drip depot, they're the best.

    How do you irrigate your containers?

    Can you plug up the water emitter spots not in use ?I will do more research . I have thought about using one for a while , and they look simple to use .It is quite a pain to water a garden with a hose , not very efficient either. thnx for showing how easy it is .

    • @JerrasGarden
      @JerrasGarden  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can turn off a whole line of drip tape but not plug the individual emitter with the type of kit I'm using
