yes Lord Bill! Inline spinners are incredible! And they catch nearly everything! I learned some more information about them on this episode thanks a lot for the info! Great video is always!
Bill Dance is probably the chillest dude I've ever seen
Have you seen his bloopers?
Waking up every sunday to watch Bill Dance with my dad was the best. I remember my dad bought me the Bill Dance rod from walmart for my birthday.
I'm 54, have bought thousands of dollars of lures and honestly have caught more fish on a Mepps than any other bait. Easily many thousands of bass, catfish, stripers, catfish (by accident), trout, and every kind of crappie, bluegill, and other panfish there is on a Mepps.
My usual is a aglia...sizes from 00 up to 5. Comet minnows and others.
Not sure why I catch 30 to 1 on inline vs spinnerbait or chatterbait...but i do and I have MANY high end spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, lol. I can fish a $20 Jackhammer and go blank and throw on an inline Mepps spinner and catch em. Crazy, but that's my experience.
Mepps are well known confidence lures going way back I learned about them from an uncle I’m glad I did . I find they work well for me because the blade spins more consistent . Other spinners are made cheap and stop spinning or need to be retrieved faster . Mepps are awesome .
I don’t catch many fish, but when I do, it’s usually on an inline spinner
Thanks bill for your expert advice . It makes it easier for me to catch a few bass and get my son into fishing instead of his phone and videos games. He sees how easy it is with a spinner and he gets excited. Thank you for all that you do !!
Man I am going to have to get me one of these... Sometimes fishing can be over complicated and need to go back old school
I like using an inline spinner when white bass are schooling. Fun stuff
bill really knows how to catch fish
Bill Dance.. you’re a bad ass man
Loved watching you as a kid 30 yrs ago and still do today.
Caught my PB Large Mouth last month on an in-line trout spinner lure. 5.85 lb... very next day went back out with that same little lure and set a new PB of 6.1 lb. So happy the weather is getting nice so I can fish some more with in-lines.
Yes sir 👍 one of my favorite go to lures. Will catch anything. Thanks for another great episode Bill
The inline spinner is one of my favorites really good stuff keep them lines tight and ill see you on the water
A small spinner has always been favorite bait! I've caught 10 pound Largemouth and 3 pound Trout on small spinners! For Smallmouth, a Texas Rigged Rubber Worm works in warm summer water, but in cooler spring and late fall water, I add a spinner to it and still reel then in!
I love these in line spinners. They usually save the day when I'm not catching fish on other lures.
I do too I usually start with them for that reason .
Howdy Bill, I love how you can now go to these "set-op" lakes/ponds and relax while catching 4 - 5 pounders while you educate us.
love ya and God bless.
Great breakdown of the spinner bait - thanks
I love these videos.
Why do I get videos like this in a search - I searched how to. And hes already on the water. And I know this guys putting fish BACK !
I so agree that inline spinners work great. My favourite are made by RAPALA called BLUE FOX lures. I catch a lot of bass using them every time I go fishing in the Upper Niagara River. In fact I started a Facebook group Blue Fox Fishing Lures with John Poirier because I like them so much. Great video Mr. Dance! You so informative, skilled and successful at being a great fisherman and still humble. God bless you with good health to keep fishing and showing us STILL how it's done.
All white Mepps #3 agilia, pink. Purple are my go toos and always always work
I have been using in line spinner's since I was a kid and my PB which is 7 pounder was caught on a mepps #2 spinner silver blade no skirt so they definitely will catch big bass!
i never thought Mepps w no skirt was that, until i tried it
@@mikebonge7206 yep they work great!
Amen, a few years ago my brother and I traveled to Lake Of The Woods, ON. and the smallmouth juat ate us up using a #4 Mepps with a chartruse blade and a small grub tail (white) on one of the trebble hooks.
Bill still fishes monofilament..that says something!
Yup! Best mono I’ve found and still use for all top water is Berkeley tryline green
thank you for the advise
Had one of my best fishing day with uncle buck rooster quarter oz appreciate the video s down here in Ga.
I love me a spinner. Mepps #2 black and yellow. Suckers worn out and I’ve saved it from snags for easily 20years. Waded out in to the middle of rivers to retrieve it. They’re all I really use. Bass, trout, you name it. I remember going with my uncle and his friends saying the only way to catch browns was a nymph fly for that time of year. Nailed one with a spinner within a couple casts. Way outfished my school group on a trip one year too.
Mepps in line spinners!!! Let's go baby!
That was a great video I like it you have a great day
Those are great multi species lures. Trout and panfish love those spinners also. I just wish they were easier to cast
I absolutely love spinners. Those things could catch a bass in a dry pool
In line spinners if you look closely are the mother of many other lures. The first buzzbaits were inline models. The first spinnerbaits were just a variance using the same spinning blades. Bladed jigs are another related style lure. They been around longer than Bill Dance has; he wasn’t even born yet. I used them in Alaska for Salmon on a Bass outfit. I was the only one pulling that trick anyone saw before. The ones I used only used a single hook; and those things went thru cover better than ones with treble hooks. So when I got back, I just added a Uncle Josh’s pork frog on and Bass liked them just fine. You don’t have too, I just wanted too because it keeps the hook pointed up. Most times being older makes you smarter; if you want to learn things you just need to listen.
Bassed some salmon? Eh
Rooster Tails are the best in line spinners imo. Also love Mepps Aglia and Panther Martin.
That's what I thought until I tried joes flies. None better.
@@mikeconley9590 I might give those a try, thanks!
@@markicore7628 the black 1/8th oz woolybuger with gold blades and a red tip are the most productive. Academy sells them here but they are hard to find .
I still buy roostertail too , but I have caught more fish with joes than all other techniques combined.
I caught a 3 foot alligator gar , a 6 pound bass , and a giant crappie all within about 20 minutes last week in my little 3 acre pond.
I give them to all my friends and tell them "this will feed your family" . And it's true.
Anyhow, good luck.
I give them the lure , not the fish...
Mepps Black Fury Aglia #5 in green or pink has been very good to me.
The rooster tail spinner is my go-to lure when fishing new bodies of water, and when I want to cover water fast. It's rare if I don't catch at least one.
I've used those nitro spinners to catch reds and bass, they can be universal and I keep them in both my fresh and salt boxes.
I have a box dedicated to inline spinners. 1/64 oz up to Mepps #5. They are definitely “catch all’s”.
Mepps no 2 or 3 . For bass good times. Never let me down
Go Dawgs there Tennessee also that was a massive first bass
I caught my pb 10.6lb bass on a Mepps #2. Such a simple...yet effective fish catcher.
Monsterrrr
That’s great I catch them on a 2 gold or silver blade . So we’ll made and worth the money
I caught my first bass ever on a K mart brand inline spinner..circa 1986
now you make me feel nostalgic
How about taking me to Tank Town next time you go there.
I fish mepps #0-#2 for trout and panfish, #3&4 for big bass and#4 and 5 Marabou and buck tail for pike and musky...
Anyone tried the panther Martin weed runner lure?
How fast should I crank my reel when I am using an inline spinner?
I fished Mepps black tail all my life. Never new they called in line spinners. I always went to mepps black tail aalways Caught fish
Lol- I just left a comment on another channel saying... We didn't call them "In line spinners" back in the 70's, we called them Rooster Tails, Mepps & Panther Martins!!"
i wish bill was my grandpa.
I hear what you're saying, but your gpa was a cool guy if not cooler, 👍
@@13samfootball he was iight.
Is that a 1/4 th or 3/8th oz
I use an inline all year round
I caught a catfish on an inline spinner in the flint river.
iv caught about every thing that swims with a inline spinners one of the most underestimated lure of all time in someone's tackle box like a lazy ike if only people knew how good they worked intell they use them if its old and not broke don't fix it
that tackle box would had been great bout the time you old tackle box get wide open and all your tackle drop on the boat floor
Hey, that's great but doesn't your line get Wind knots twisted and pretzeled? I guess if it catches you just sling a couple profanities and carry on through the frustration.
dang it
Hey Bill, would a Rooster Tail be considered an Inline spinnerbait?
Yes
He didn't break a rod or fall in the water in this episode
I target snakehead and channel catfish with inline spinners
First
Third.
But I was first to like the video.
first
Where is he at Santee Cooper oh no he only fishes private ponds lol
Filmed in someones stocked pond hah
I think I could catch as many big fish on a popsicle stick. Just give me the stocked private lake.
Whats with all of these political ads for that lo life biden this is a fishing show lets keep it fishing OK
Great bait especially in a private stocked lake..next week try tin foil on a hook...what a joke
NEVER directly tie to an inline spinner. Duh. Always us a swivel.
