In meteorology, the term ‘cyclonic’ refers to any rotation that is counter-clockwise (in the Northern Hemisphere), whether it is an innocuous spin or an organized weather system. A ‘cyclone’ is always an organized low pressure system, which is the ‘C’ in ACE. In fairness, cyclonic is the adjective of cyclone, but there is a difference meteorologically.
