Lulu - I loved the idea of the Berkey in the cubby. I was thinking of just cutting the wood in a small semi-circle at the edge, to allow the water to get through to allow me to put larger items like pots and water bottles to fill. Can't wait to see Bob's surprise! LOL
I will have a cubby bin just under it so I can't cut into like that, but that's a good idea if it was just going on the edge of a counter top!! I really only fill cups (I even fill a cup to dump into my pressure cooker), so I should be all set with just the extra 2" of space. thanks for writing!! Lulu
I love everything so far. Thrift stores are the best. That pillowcase with a white comforter and the blue print and trim is going to be beautiful. I have a purple comforter and purple curtains, with purple trim on things, in my Promaster City. Isnt it fun Lulu!!!❤

You are a good example of the universe sending you what you need, want. I went to the thrift store the other day and got a large wooden bookshelf for $15.00 that I had been wanting. My friend had gotten a smaller one, not all wood like mine, that she paid about $150.00 for. She wouldn’t be caught dead shopping at the thrift store, ha,ha. I love finding the great bargains there 🥰
When I was younger I worked with my husband, we own a boat building shop here in Newport Rhode Island. I was the vanisher. I wish I was there to show you how to round over those edges on that piece you routered. Your so funny and entertaining

Lulu you are such a joy to watch I love your color plan and I too love thrifting for things to repurpose so it fun to see what you can see and create beyond what it once was Love the use of the “new to you” pillowcase will become and how the universe has all the pieces coming together It’s magical At a later time will you share about your water system I read some comments about the particular unit and so many people complain about how hard it is to use the filter and keep the filter running and it holds me off a little bit from using it but I also saw recently on the DIY that you can make your own system with a couple of stainless steel pots, and that brand of filter which makes it very Affordable for many others I’d love to hear your thoughts, wishing you continued health and happiness you certainly have learned how to create your own world of happiness❤

I like the Berkey water filtering system, it's so easy to use and it requires no power and, in my opinion, it does the job and creates great tasting water. I've seen DIY berkey systems on youtube but I've never made one and I suppose if the water is going through the filters, it would do the same thing!! good luck in you process!! Lulu

But I’m muddling thru my build and just finished building my wheel well boxes. I have a semi-build, no-build type thing happening. 😁
yes, having some muscles around for the heavy stuff is really beneficial, for sure!! it can be very frustrating, I agree. I've had no-build builds before, in my minivan when I first got it, and then as I went along and came across some help or extra hands, I would change something out!! I find van building, or no-building, is an ongoing process that really never ends!! but it's fun!!

How about using what was the bottom of the burkey box to go over the top of the burkey to make it a spot to put something small on when you're not adding water. A gel pad on top and add a little something. also, that pillow case is perfection! What luck!! 🤩

Hi Lulu, I love the cabinets that you painted blue. Would you be able to cut/trim the (crown molding) edge that was the top of the cabinet so they could just neatly stack on each other? I think they are going to be so cool on there side and used for storage that way. Can't wait to see the van finished and you out on a new adventure. 🥳

I have one for home but it is really to big for my van. Am thinking of getting one for the van but needs to be smaller. If not a small size I’ll have to figure out another filter item.
A thought came to mind: is the pillow case too much too big that instradvof cutting it, could you double it up? Would mean just two seams and would result in a better thicker cover for your queen pillow. More texture, move density. So more like a throw pillow.

hi Terry!! I have the Travel Size Berkey, it's perfect for one person!! I got it on Amazon. I don't know much of the details about the filters enough to talk much about them other than I screw them in and then they filter the water and I enjoy the taste and trust the water is clean and good for me. but there is countless videos on the Berkey on youtube where you can learn more details about what the filters are actually doing. I'm not one for details! LOL

it's a medicine cabinet I found at a thrift store for $10. I took the mirror out cuz it made it so heavy! and it turned out that it was too tall to fit upright on the table for over the bluetti, it was hitting the top of van, so I just turned it on it's side and will open it outward from the top!! I will bolt it to the table and will bolt the table to the floor! that will all be directly behind the driver's seat!!

I read some comments about the particular unit and so many people complain about how hard it is to use the filter and keep the filter running and it holds me off a little bit from using it but I also saw recently on the DIY that you can make your own system with a couple of stainless steel pots, and that brand of filter which makes it very Affordable for many others

I like the Berkey water filtering system, it's so easy to use and it requires no power and, in my opinion, it does the job and creates great tasting water. I've seen DIY berkey systems on youtube but I've never made one and I suppose if the water is going through the filters, it would do the same thing!! good luck in you process!! Lulu

@@LulusWay64 Oh I’m doing it, that’s for sure! There are just times it’s frustrating because it’s often lack of strength or a second pair of hands that would make all the difference! But I’m muddling thru my build and just finished building my wheel well boxes. I have a semi-build, no-build type thing happening. 😁
yes, having some muscles around for the heavy stuff is really beneficial, for sure!! it can be very frustrating, I agree. I've had no-build builds before, in my minivan when I first got it, and then as I went along and came across some help or extra hands, I would change something out!! I find van building, or no-building, is an ongoing process that really never ends!! but it's fun!!

How about using what was the bottom of the burkey box to go over the top of the burkey to make it a spot to put something small on when you're not adding water. A gel pad on top and add a little something.

Hi Lulu, I love the cabinets that you painted blue. Would you be able to cut/trim the (crown molding) edge that was the top of the cabinet so they could just neatly stack on each other?
I think they are going to be so cool on there side and used for storage that way. Can't wait to see the van finished and you out on a new adventure. 🥳

I don't want them to stack, I want space between them. because I have the height space to separate them out and I want easy opening, and I want the space in between them to utilize. but if I wanted to stack them, for sure trimming that crown moulding is a great idea!! hi Kissy!! the white comforter that I have washes well and it will stay even cleaner now that it won't be my main sitting area like in my last build where I sat on it to do all my cooking and eating!! I just love a simple white comforter, I have one on my big bed in at home too!! Lulu

Dear lady…you are so creative and how lucky on the finds! Works great. Love the colors and how things are coming together. What size is the Burkey. I have one for home but it is really to big for my van. Am thinking of getting one for the van but needs to be smaller. If not a small size I’ll have to figure out another filter item.

A thought came to mind: is the pillow case too much too big that instradvof cutting it, could you double it up? Would mean just two seams and would result in a better thicker cover for your queen pillow. More texture, move density. So more like a throw pillow.

hi Terry!! I have the Travel Size Berkey, it's perfect for one person!! I got it on Amazon. I don't know much of the details about the filters enough to talk much about them other than I screw them in and then they filter the water and I enjoy the taste and trust the water is clean and good for me. but there is countless videos on the Berkey on youtube where you can learn more details about what the filters are actually doing. I'm not one for details! LOL

I love that cabinet that you’re going to put over the Bluetti…where did you find that?
it's a medicine cabinet I found at a thrift store for $10. I took the mirror out cuz it made it so heavy! and it turned out that it was too tall to fit upright on the table for over the bluetti, it was hitting the top of van, so I just turned it on it's side and will open it outward from the top!! I will bolt it to the table and will bolt the table to the floor! that will all be directly behind the driver's seat!!
