This movie is so underrated. It's truly a magical movie about how fleeting time truly is and how every choice you make changes the course of your life. I've loved this movie since it came out.
I love this movie. It’s actually my favorite McAdams time-travel love story. lol The getting to know you scenes in this movies are adorable. I think they really use the time travel in service of the relationship exploration elements.
A personal fave of mine. I just love the message: Life your best life, with love and without regrets. That way you will never want or need to go back and fix it.
Aaahh I really love the message of this movie. I feel like I lived so many years of my life with my head always in the past or in the future, always completely caught up in something that happened a long time ago or always working towards some future I want instead of just living. Not even living in the moment, just living. Because it got to the point where I just wasn’t being myself, wasn’t doing the things I wanted to do, wasn’t fully taking in the present and it almost felt like for such a long time I wasn’t living. And granted a lot of it had to do with the fact that I was dealing with trauma and finding I myself, so I can’t be too hard on myself for that. But I’ve been doing a much better job of enjoying the present, doing things just because I want to, and not being completely caught up in the past or future. Anyway I really enjoyed your reaction :)
Wow. I am so happy you reacted to this. It's one of my favorite movies of all time, I just love it so damn much, have a hard time putting it into words. I've been having a tough time and you coming out with this was such a nice surprise, thank you for brightening my day, even though I am also crying because of the movie now haha
I'm in love with this movie, it's so sweet, Domnhall Gleeson, Rachael McAdams and Bill Nighy are all incredibly talented and along with the wonderful supporting cast they all bring this movie together perfectly. The sound design is also brilliant, if you listen closely there is a faint ticking sound each time Tim goes back, even with his sister, but when he travels with his dad there are two ticking sounds to show that the two time travelers are traveling together. Which I thought was really neat and extremely well done. As someone who is, hopefully, working towards being a writer and director, I want to direct something like this one day.
Your reaction was beautiful. Loved watching it again. So true, your cheeks hurt from that permanent smile and belly roll of emotion. The message is incredible. Cast...Wow! Thanks for a great time.
34:22 is when I liked and subscribed. Anyone dude that can show emotion like that on camera has my respect. I love this movie and cried both times that I watched it 😂
I get cast in the upcoming musical for my theatre AND you’re reacting to LITERALLY to my favorite movie of all time?!?! This day cannot get any better 😍
My favorite time-travel love story. Not just love in a romantic sense but familial as well. The father-son relationship was a beautiful aspect of the movie.
Oh one of my favourites! I don't really consider it a romcom but a lovely story about love. ETA: awww im happy to see you enjoyed it! Talking about quirky time travel films have you seen Safety Not Guaranteed?
39:00. Yes, people still wear the wigs, depending on the court and the magistrate. They are made of horse hair. They are shared between solicitors and barristers at the office. You have to watch out for lice. I am not kidding.
You’re reactions are always so wonderful to watch! It’s like sharing a loved movie with a friend for the first time.😊 I believe you would love to see, Meet Joe Black. Fantastic movie!
I love this movie so much, but I can't watch it too often. When I saw this in the theater my mom had been very ill for a while and when the father dies here I just started bawling my eyes out because I was NOT ready to lose her yet. She passed not long after that so whenever I watch it now I mentally go right back there. Such a beautiful movie though.
i love that movie the storyline is really good the acting is great the cast too but in France i didn't really heard about it i stubble on it once and i'm glad i did
Your subscribers are why I am subscribing. You have several gems, apparently because of your fanbase. My suggestions would probably start with the question, "If you've enjoyed British comedies, or wondered what Vaudeville was like, would you like a film-history covering that? Then grab 1995's FUNNY BONES with Lee Evans, Oliver Platt and (headline-grabbing) Jerry Lewis can be a wonderful treat. Or if ensemble films have been enjoyed, then 1987's LET IT RIDE (Richard Dreyfuss, Teri Garr and a host of others) is a grand tale of a cabbie's overheard race-track 'surefire winner' comment. And finally, more like ABOUT TIME, there's SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED with Aubrey Plaza looking for an 'interesting story' for her paper, and accepting a job as a research'er's assistant. Building a time-machine.
If you listen to the comment trac, you'll find that Margo, at least at that point, couldn't play tennis - at all. They had to rely on a lot of close-ups.
"But it would also potentially be kind of creepy". Yeah. Got it in one. As charming as the film is overall, it does make Tim and Mary's whole courtship a little one-sided in terms of agency (or something like that). Mary will never know how Tim actually met her, because for some reason the men never tell their wives or daughters the family secret. But it does establish with Margot Robbie's character that no amount of changing time will get someone to like you if the initial attraction isn't there, which makes it slightly? Better? You can't overthink this one.
My understanding is that the time travel in this movie works by branching the universe, with the previous branch ceasing to exist, except in the memory of the time traveller. And there many small things you can change in the past that won’t have a meaningful ripple effect. But the baby thing you cannot undo, even the smallest change in the past will very slightly alter what sperm and egg will meet.
Will you stop fucking mentioning the actors and actually focus on the story? This isn't even a hate comment, it's just that it's the only comments you make and it devalues the story, which is the important thing. So please take this constructively.
First time watching a reaction of yours. You seem nice, but providing a continuous over talk and thought dump of everything going through your mind doesn’t allow the audience to follow along with you. It feels like a lecture. Not trying to be rude- just my 2c …. Take it or ignore. Great movie though, loved Bill Nye especially!!
I found this movie very underwhelming. I did like how this movie addressed some aspects of time travel in a way that no other time travel movies do. They pointed out how conception is so precise that it's so much easier to erase someone from existence by messing up ANYTHING leading up to it. So in BTTF, Marty should've been screwed anyway. Other than that, I didn't care for this lead or this romance (aside from their first ever date).
Honestly think you're better off ignoring sci-fi mechanics when that's not really the point or main focus of the movie. It's funny, it's sad, it's moving, it has a good lesson and interesting things to say about the way we live our lives, and the time travel is just a device to get you there. They could've gone 10x more nonsensical with the time travel mechanics and I couldn't have cared less personally, to me it's utterly unimportant.
10/10 film easily. One of my FAVORITE romantic comedies
Totally agree! But i'd classify it more like an romatic drama, cause it doesn't fit the typical romcom schema.
I’m so glad you went into this not knowing a thing, it’s such a special movie. A love story, about so many different kinds of love.
This movie is so underrated. It's truly a magical movie about how fleeting time truly is and how every choice you make changes the course of your life. I've loved this movie since it came out.
Dude! Didn't expect this one!
Honestly, my fav rom com and it is probably in my top 10 films.
Such a great movie!
Glad you enjoyed it
Hell yes,

Didn’t know enough people seen it for it to win a poll .

This movie really stuck with me. I saw it so many years ago, and it will still pop into my head randomly.

My favourite character is Rory/Roger. Beautifully simple guy
My favorite time-travel love story. Not just love in a romantic sense but familial as well. The father-son relationship was a beautiful aspect of the movie.
A beautiful underrated wholesome movie
10:23 the blackout restaurant actually exists, if memory serves me ...
Oh one of my favourites! I don't really consider it a romcom but a lovely story about love.
ETA: awww im happy to see you enjoyed it! Talking about quirky time travel films have you seen Safety Not Guaranteed?
This is easily one of my favorite movies of the 2010's! I'm glad that you got to experience this 😃
Such a fun/sweet movie. I agree it's not the easiest for those of us with depression/anxiety and such. But we try.
Excellent post film reflections, appreciated the philosophical aspect of it along with appreciating the cinematic nuances. Thanks
How can I press like on a video 10 times??? Soooo glad you reacted to this one 💕
Okay I don't know how I didn't see this uploaded two weeks ago, but I am so damn excited to watch.
This is my favorite movie!!!!
Finally more people reacting to this movie.
Now we just need Age of Adaline to pick back up in reactions.
39:00. Yes, people still wear the wigs, depending on the court and the magistrate. They are made of horse hair. They are shared between solicitors and barristers at the office. You have to watch out for lice. I am not kidding.
I've only seen Vanessa Kirby in The Crown, as young Princess Margareth, Queen Elisabeth's sister!! She was great!!!
My dad has already passed away when i watched this and i remembered how i cried so hard..
You’re reactions are always so wonderful to watch! It’s like sharing a loved movie with a friend for the first time.😊
I believe you would love to see, Meet Joe Black. Fantastic movie!

33:58 The Pain Point
I love this movie so much, but I can't watch it too often. Movies that deal with Time and Love are always great😭
Respect for 2+k people who watched this reaction. Easily my top 10 favorite movies of all time.
Holy I never thought you would react to this
Its one of my fav movies of all time
Please, do The Time Traveler's Wife! Also Rachel McAdams!
Makes me hope you'll react to The Time Traveller's Wife, also with Rachel McAdams
My actual favorite romance movie. I love every single bit of it. ❤
The literal blind date restaurant scene really let's you "hear" how gorgeous 🇨🇦 Rachel McAdams is but then there's 🇦🇺 Margot Robbie ❤❤❤
"The Diggle Effect" 😆 I understood that reference
I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that!
i love that movie the storyline is really good the acting is great the cast too but in France i didn't really heard about it i stubble on it once and i'm glad i did
Life changing movie
I LOVE this movie!!!
love love love this movie
Oh my... is SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED next?!! That's another film you probably will never hear from but with an impact far beyond popularity.

Such a good movie

Films don’t fuck me up usually.
But that bit on the beach as a child with his dad…
Dude…
That kicks me in the feels real
Hard.
Wow 30 seconds ago!?
The fist chick flick besides bidesmaids i liked seeing with my wife 😂 it always hit me hard with his last visit with his dad at the beach 😢
Would it be cheating if he went with Margot Robbie, go back in time, then not get with her, and go back to his girlfriend. 🤔
yes

I liked this movie, but it definitely bothered me that it constantly broke its own rules about how the time travel worked.
