I own an opticians , send your specs to me , I might be able to fix them. That is correct about the 2 year old prescription though so time for an eye test. Go to an independent though , support the independents , just like you would expect your customers to when it comes to buying a car.
Buy a car turntable? Cheap enough & no messing about shunting cars for photo's! Easy for making a short vid then too😉
Turntables are really expensive, be better to start with wheel dollys to see if it would work before forking out on a tt

Hi Joe, when I picked up my brand new Kia Sportage GT Line 2 weeks ago it was sat right in the middle of the main dealers showroom and it was gleaming, it was a really nice touch and I think that your "photo booth" would also make a great handover point. It made a good impression especially considering that the rain falls horizontally up here and it was pouring down when I went to pick up the car. Although my skin is waterproof, I really did not fancy the handover being done in a howling gale and the rain pissing down or horizontally!

Absolutely! We did our first handover in there yesterday. An Edition 35 Golf. The buyer son was well excited to see it under the lights ‘that looks epic’ ❤️

Showroom suggestion.
2 long neutral colour curtains down either side on tracks.
On the Berrow Motors wall
Est .. underneath logo - shows trusted trader
Then either side things like the AA approved logo
TH-cam logo
Finance company logo etc
So very visual and area can be messy behind the curtains when you need to take stock vehicle pictures.
The back wall acts as a non visual queue to support any possible sale.

Ps. You can put one up along the door area as it will allow you to govern the amount of light in the area when taking pictures...

Good idea for the show room lights. I would move everything out, put some cheap wood panels around the entire room with small gaps. Paint almost black but very dark grey, install the lights and perhaps dark grey rubber tile Matt’s. Will look nice, then carry out same over the entire premises to make it feel more premium. 👍
Your logo is nice enough, but make it much smaller and in Matt chrome against the dark grey 👍

S.J.Rayner sticker on the back. I once bought an Alfa 156 Selespeed from him. When it went wrong all he would say was phone the warranty company. I can’t do anything.
I finished up paying for a factory reconditioned gearbox from Alfa Romeo. 😊
7:43 what my dad used to do was tell them “well if you can’t be asked take the day off and I will just not pay you today” then all of a sudden it wasn’t a big problem.

My dad owned a garage in the 60s-80s never paid sick pay. People turned up for work. If someone had just gone home they would have been toast. He had a couple of old boys working for him and when they were genuinely illl he looked after them, including visiting them and their families. Hard and soft at same time
You can’t run a society based on that. Everything has to be written down and there are employment laws to follow. This isn’t the good old days when you could buy a house for six months wages and childcare wasn’t depended on, and if it was it was cheap anyway.

Joe, depends on you. Personally, if the drama disrupts the business, or his attitude isn't making the place workable for others, then he needs to be officially repremanded, and given a formal warning. Personally, I'd take him out for a coffee/chat, and have a coming to Jesus meeting. Basicly, make him an offer to piss off, that he can't refuse. He needs to officially put in writing that he resigned.

@ShiftingMetal Yeah, they are expensive. They help with the overall efficiency. If you ever need any advice on photographs, just shout it out in the video, I will respond in the comments. Just finished with a large south Wales used car dealership doing their photos, and willing to help others
As someone who tends to buy about 7/10 cars a year 😅 I'm always drawn to cars that are pictured in a nice yard or indoor area, random car park photos always give me dodgy trader energy, I think your outdoor photo area looks great, understanding not so much when it's horrible weather, but I think the new possible indoor photo area looks good, great video again joe

You want some large drop down screens with your logo on it to block off all the walls and doors
the hex lighting will be no good for photographing cars at all. the reflections will be very distracting and on a dark car they will be an absolute nightmare. and they will reflect off all the glass spoiling the shots
Hex lighting has been in fashion for car dealers for years now. It’s not necessarily about taking photos.
@@LCOF joe is preparing this area as a location to photograph all his cars for the net and the hex lights wll spoil the photos
Your sales staff should be located in the front showroom, Your office should be separate, knock the door thing.

You're very right, I do tend to mix up names of things!
I just feel some of the ‘upgrades’ to the show room look cheap and nasty, it would put me off buying, taking short cuts, and that all black paint just looks terrible. That entire room is embarrassing.

Should be all one colour. Remove any other focus apart from car. White everywhere. Keep it clean, no crap.

The black paint looks awful at the moment because it's only one coat - it's not actually finished. At least Joe is bothering - I've been to car 'dealerships' where the 'office' consists of last week's pizza boxes and a wheelie bin. Some people are never happy

The TV will have a time out mode after no interactions. Buried in the settings there may be an option to change it. ( EU regs, dictate time out to save energy)😮

you know that i was a salesman for the largest electrical retailer in the city of london and i was just about to be promoted until i collapsed with a brain heammorrage , but i still find time to comment on your garage , you know the berrow motors sign above your garage it is to small and should be made bigger so people can see it , see theres no place for dencent people like me who would turn that garage inside out day and night lol.

why don't you just take a photo anywhere and lift the car image out and put it on whatever background you want? It's one press and job done nowadays on any newer decent device, even if you took the picture on a real camera and imported it to the device. Also.. Dan? the guy who used to work for you right?
