We grew up on this and it became my kids favorite meal. Quick and easy (less the mushrooms) it traditionally became one of my favorite meals to make halloween night (ghoulash)

Funny rhing...you're a Newfoundlander, and yet I grew up eating the same food you did. Pretty much every dish you've cooked is something that appeared on the table when I was growing up!😂 Both my parents and both sets of geandparents were born and bred in Ontario. It is basically poor people's food, but damn, it was good!

Goulash was a staple in our house .. growing up 5 of us kids to feed ...me mudder could stretch a pound a ground a mile long and then some!

Yeah, it's definitely a well-known dish that goes back to childhood. Like you said, cheap ingredients that can be stretched to help feed the family. Basic ingredients as well. I love goulash

The tides are changing, and our local PC representative is getting great feedback from voters. Pierre Poilievre have been here in NL and specifically the west coast, 4 times in the last little while, even knocking on doors in the heaviest liberal areas, and they have gotten good responses Poilievre has made more trips to NL than any other federal party leader in history, and people are noticing it. I've met him in person each time he has been here. The first time was a small gathering with invite only, and i was invited. He has big plans for NL, and he wants to ship oil and gas to NL and then ship it by boat to supply Europe. Tides are changing.

@foxhound9781 me and my mother and I never voted in our lives until this liberal government came to power. Actually, mom voted once before in her life. It's the biggest destruction on Canada by any Canadian PM in history.

Prices have been rising since long before Justin was even a twinkle in his dad's eye. And if you think Poilievre is going to make prices drop, yer either dreaming or gullible. All he'll do is use cheap populism as a means of further dividing us...like we really need that.

The Campbell condensed soups make good bases to custom up from add in tinned or frozen veg even add pre blanched fresh veg but I’ve used them for years, a touch of cream or water can thin it if needed, also it’s what I call a lash up, grab flavours you know and go from there, find summat weird in the back of your cupboard, chuck it in, use it up and replace, it’ll taste great or it’ll taste like crap but you could live on it, to quote a rather famous Aussie who was about in the 80s to 2000s
