    Do you need a new drain plug because it is torqued ??

      @God_is_Justice  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NO, you do not need a new drain plug, I am sorry, I misspoke but we are recommended to replace drain plug GASKET (that's what I misspoke) every time we do the oil change. That should be no problem due to their very inexpensive price and ease of this process. I'm not sure what the science is behind it but its not expensive so why not replace the gasket of the drain plug. In this instance it is a metal washer (called gasket).

    I have the same truck. It says 0w-20 right on the oil fill cap.And it also calls for a PF64 ac Delco filter.

      If yours is the same year, same model truck, you might want to check in your manual, because on my old truck (This one) it calls for 5W-20 not 0W-20. Maybe your filler cap was a replacement OR maybe that's the oil requirement for the climate where you live. Won't heart to check.I hope this helps.

    Why the new drain plug (versus just screwing the old one back in)?

    • @aarono7026
      @aarono7026 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      and i acknowledge being kind of a moron- i've changed oil only like maybe 7-8 times over about 35 years.

    Doesn't the 5w-20 need to be Full synthetic Dexos 1 ?

    • @God_is_Justice
      @God_is_Justice  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, it does not. As long as it is 5W-20 Dexos 1 it can be Regular, Synthetic or the blend of two.

    • @benitom3460
      @benitom3460 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      certain select Synthetic-blend Oils Dexos certified!

      Does it have to be dextos?

    • @God_is_Justice
      @God_is_Justice  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if you look at the beginning of this video carefully you will see the Dexos is written on top of the engine oil lid and I assume that means Dexos only oil requirement.

    Does the 2.5 have a magnet on the drain plug like the old 2.2 in the S10 had?

    • @God_is_Justice
      @God_is_Justice  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on what kind of magnet we are talking about :-) but joking aside, no I did not see one when I removed it during my last which was also my first (on this truck) oil change. It was just a regular drain plug with a plastic gasket (washer) which I replaced (even though did not appear any different from the one I installed (new). hope this helps.
