You should have mentioned using synthetic oil because the 2019 Chevy Colorado comes stock from the factory with synthetic oil , and although not necessary, it's wise & and recommended to stick with synthetic.
Blend vs full isn’t so much the issue. Use your preference, just make sure it’s the right viscosity rating for your temperature/region, the correct api rating, and most important make sure it’s marked dexos. Dexos is designed to remove the sludge and trash that builds up within the piston rings. You do not need to be a full synthetic fan boy, it’s not a drag or Indy car engine.

Dexos 1 gen 2 and gen 3...full synthetic.....no blends have the dexos rating@@chrissapp9507
you used the wrong oil
wrong oil. try amsoil.
