Thank you for watching! Have you made these Everyday Meatballs? Do you make any adaptations - what do you serve them with? I want to hear all about it below!

I’ve made these several times, they are my favorite! I usually bake them in the oven but I have also cooked them in the smoker. They also freeze well once cooked.

So yum! I added 2 tbs of tomato paste (instead of the milk)+ a bunch of finely chopped fresh oregano. I ended up making a big batch + freezing them. Added them to passata later - instant pasta sauce as they are so flavoursome! Thank you for the onion powder tip. Love your recipes!

Deb, you’ve just absolutely nailed these cooking videos. Perfect length, in a real kitchen, and you’ve done a wonderful job with this first set of videos showcasing some of your best and most treasured recipes. I was just saying to my husband last night I was craving these meatballs, and so it was such a delight to see you cooking them today. ❤️

I cannot begin to tell you how much I absolutely adore your everyday meatballs, they are divine! A constant in my rotation since the first time I made them 2 or so years ago. I've considered myself somewhat of a meatball snob for most of my adult 75 years, trying many recipes from very legit chefs and home cooks but always deciding they'd be better if I did this or eliminated that and ultimately falling back to my own recipe which made me happiest until I made your Everyday Meatballs! I followed your recipe exactly, as I always do on first cook, and they were so easy I admit I was skeptical. I put my ear to the lid a few times during the cook to make sure I had just the right simmer going girl just the perfect amount of time, 28 minutes. When I removed the lid the aroma just knocked me over! I thought this could be something special here. So, I had my plate and fork out and got the test ball & a dab of sauce, cut it in half and blew it to cool slightly before it plopped in my mouth sending a shiver of joy down to my toes. It was so dang good I couldn't believe it! The sauce was delicious and other than toasted ciabatta with garlic butter there was nothing more needed for dinner main. Delicious! To this day I have never served these meatballs with pasta. They are too good. They do not need pasta! I have never subbed an ingredient but I have added an ingredient to the tomatoes, 2T sugar which is simply my personal taste. Leaving the sugar out is delicious too but being raised by Southern cooks it's literally in my DNA. I am very adamant about serving these meatballs at least twice a month. Mandatory. So much so that four months ago I had total knee replacement and my husband is a wonderful, wonderful man but does not cook, so before surgery I was stocking all my favorites in the freezer because he can heat well and I wanted to eat well! I made a batch of Everyday Meatballs & Sauce, divided it in half because it's 2 dinners for us and they freeze excellently. Thawed before heating in the oven and they were just as if I'd been able to stand & make them that day! Thank you Deb, I'm such a fan and have never found one of your recipes to be less than delicious. Tonight I'm trying your Zucchini Butter Spaghetti for the first time, can't wait!

I make these meatballs ALL. THE. TIME!!! They are a constant in the dinner meal rotation at my house and I always make a double batch. I often use jarred spaghetti sauce if I'm in a hurry (sorry...and yours looks better with the crushed tomato version). It's great to see the video as I realize I make mine smaller and I'm always concerned about them being submerged in the sauce. Nice to see that's not a necessity. These go over pasta for the kids and rice for the adults for less gluten. And sometimes they go over a baked potato with some mozz melted on top! Thank you for so many tried and true recipes.

I've been cooking for 50+ years and have made many, many meatballs. I've always enjoyed meatballs so much so I'd say I truly love a good meatball. I've made my own recipes, followed recipes of well known chefs and home cooks and combinations of all those, with very satisfying results. Tonight I tried your Everyday Meatballs recipe. I followed it precisely which is highly unusual for me, but I trust your recipes having used several of them in the past. These are so good, so easy, so wonderful that I may have to make them twice a week for a while! That would take care of 4 dinners for us. They are truly good. Down to earth, I love you meatball good. We enjoyed them with the garlic bread. It was divine. Thank you for this recipe, I'm sad I've gone 50+ years without it and somewhat angry about that as well. Look at all the delicious meatballs I've missed out on! Thank you Deb Perelman, I'm forever grateful and one of your biggest fans!

This is so similar to my recipe! I cook mine on a parchment lined sheet pan in a 400 degree oven before adding them to my sauce. I use only 1 egg.. 1/2 cups milk and because I am Italian, a lot more cheese! Lol. Thanks for your recipes, I have been following you since about 2013.. before your first book. Love all you do. ❤

My recipe is similar, but I use ricotta instead of milk and eggs, and I bake them for 15 minutes before adding them to the sauce. It renders out some of the fat which is left behind on the baking sheet. I look forward to trying your recipe to see how they compare! It took me SO long to get my meatball recipe to where I loved them!

I NEVER make meatballs since every recipe I've tried ended badly (hard meatballs are not a good thing). You inspired me to try again and I will now make these as often as I can get away with. My husband asked me what was in the sauce because it was so good. So easy to make with nothing fussy. I served them just like you did, with just bread (and a salad for something green). Thank you for adding a lovely dish to my recipe list!

Mmmm...I look forward to trying these, and not having to brown them. A few years ago, I started using the oven to brown meatballs. It still made a mess, but it was contained and I have a self cleaning oven. But I bet these are more tender by being dropped in the sauce without that step! And on garlic bread...Yum!

And yes, you can use gluten free breadcrumbs with this, they work well!

I make these often, especially in cooler weather. They're great with pasta (or in my case, zoodles or hearts of palm pasta), or just by themselves! I usually go with beef or a beef/pork blend, but I've used ground chicken before, and that has turned out really well (but the chilling step is key).

These are by far the BEST meatballs ever! My italian mother in law refuses to make meatballs anymore, because these are so good. I generally skip the parsley because I don't have it, unless if I'm doing a special dinner for company. I double the parmesan, because why wouldn't you? lol. I use seasoned italian breadcrumbs, and I use canned tomato sauce, because I like the texture better. Don't tell anyone, but I also use jarred chopped garlic! Unless same with the parsley, if I'm doing a special dinner for company. So, so good! I also love that it happens to be the perfect amount of sauce for a pound of spaghetti. Thank you so much for this recipe, along with so many of your others! PLEASE keep up with these videos, they're so great! Perfect length, too. Don't change a thing!

You're hilarious. "I saw a chef do that." I'd watch just for the fun of it, but the side comments on substitutions and technique are super helpful.

I use your other meatball recipe for meatloaf :-). I've hardly evr made meatballs because all that rolling and browning. But I'm totally boggled by the idea of making them just by tossing them in the sauce. Will absolutely try them, thanks for the demo.

I have made these meatballs and they are delicious! I have used 100% ground beef and I made twice the sauce so there was plenty to eat with linguine.

My husband just asked "whats for dinner tonight?" and guess what it is? Your meatballs!! Love this recipe with no pre-browning needed. I love the pan you are using. Is it a Lodge pan or something else? Thanks

Yum!! Another smashing recipe, Deb! Our favorite Deb meatballs are the Marsala Meatballs but I might have to try these out soon. I hope you’ll be able to make more videos, it’s so fun to watch you cook!

My family loves these meatballs! My 3 year old watched this video with me and she asked, “Is she going to make spaghetti with these meatballs? Does she even know how to make spaghetti?” 🤦🏼‍♀️ I told her, “Deb knows how to make everything!” 😊

    Everyday meatballs
Yield: 22 to 24 small (about 1.5-inch or 1.5 tablespoon) meatballs
1 pound ground meat (I use a mix of beef and pork)
2/3 cup fresh bread crumbs or 1/2 cup panko
    1/3 cup milk or water
    2 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
2 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan or Romano cheese (optional)
2 teaspoons coarse or kosher salt, divided
Pinches of red pepper flakes or few grinds of black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    2 large eggs
    2 garlic cloves, minced, divided
    2 tablespoons olive oil
1 28-ounce can of tomato puree or crushed tomatoes

Would love more call outs or content for meat replacements (beyond or impossible) or even featuring those in a video instead of the meat. Love your recipes and glad that you’re doing video now

I make these allll theeee timeeee!! Thanks Deb. Sometimes if I'm feeling up to it I'll bake them first lol, or bake them directly in the sauce, then sprinkle shtedded mozzarella over towards the end and let it melt into a glorious mess ( I think you recommended this when you first wrote the recipe). For reaaalllyyy special occasions I splurge on parsley haha (it is very dear in Singapore and I am not great at growing things, plus our climate....) - chloe
