What ever happened to "canceling the apocalypse"? This anime basically made the efforts made in the first movie pointless. Such wasted potential. Why didn't we get a prequel fleshing out the early years of the Jaeger program or even a true sequel (Not Uprising) actually taking the fight to the Kaiju's home world or even help freeing other home worlds the Kaijus conquered. Sorry but this is a pass for me. To me Pacific Rim will always just be the first movie and the prequel comic.
Would have been cool seeing exploration in the Kaiju world, some lame excuse like the resources over there make building jaegers cheaper, or worth the massive cost would have sufficed for an explanation IMO. (throw in r&d has made training pilots easier/ more expendable). Having some smaller jaeger designs with ground troops to deal with the beast sized kaiju, and then have the larger jaegars for dealing with the big bads. But yeah the first Pacific Rim despite it's few flaws was just shot incredibly well. Made the jaegars feel so heavy/ realistic. I ignore PR2's existence, and this seems like it will be average at best. I feel like netflix is so focused on pumping out content and potentially starting series that they ignore story quality, pacing, and competent writing. Blood of Zeus being a good example of a cool concept, pretty good trailer, but just average/ underwhelming show, despite a cool art style and some well done individual scenes.

The animation is made by polygon pictures which have been getting better with their cg animation over the years. Legendary made the show itself and came up with the idea in the first place same thing with the godzilla anime trilogy which was made by TOHO not polygon pictures or Netflix. The animation and the plot are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS judging the entire show by itself based off the animation is a piss poor way to judge something. People like you that blindly hate cg in anime obviously haven't seen good cg being used in anime
