Great videos have sat and watched all of them today I bought a 65 plate jcw in feb so much fun driving it was thinking about the remap before now I am defo booking it in once lock down is over keep the vids going bud great work 😷👍
I loved when he dropped the "All on a private road just incase the police are watching" comment well done Barry for mentioning this the police are always watching 🤣🤣
Would you rather be the guy getting cold and having to deal with people or the guy in the office locked onto a screen exporting and importing map data?
Hi Sam, thanks for the comment and I totally agree. They (remap kings) do give a tolerance level of 10% so i was being a bit cheeky saying 301bhp but looks good. To be honest, it drives so much better, i don't really care about the baseline HP.
Hi Just had my 2016 JCM a stage 1 remap. It is great but the car feels a little slidey on the roads. However the roads are currently damp so that maybe the reasons why...however not had this issue prior. Not sure if anyone has had a similar issue? I have however got a fitting for all tyres to be replaced with Michellin PS4's so hoping this might resolve the slidey feeling I am geting (feels like the front and back is sliding)
@@Frankl204 Wow so it ran at 300 bhp for that long !!! Amazing, I love my JCW and I've got the 8 speed auto but im a bit scared to keep the car and remap it , the M140i in my crosshair simply because they run reliably up to 700 bhp and you don't have to worry about the auto trans. The Mini puts a smile on my face every time but toying with the idea of track days and I don't think it will hang on long in comparison to the the M140i.
@@Ashleycb97hi Ashley, that car was my pride and joy. But moving to London took the enjoyment out of it and forced the sale. I sold it on Carwow and was amazed at the price I got. But trying to sell on eBay put lots of folk off because of the stage 1. Anyway I didn’t regret it snd I loved my JCW. Hope I have helped
@@Frankl204 thanks matey for sharing :) I’ve actually had some changes just happen to my personal circumstances in the last 24 hours so the car is now going . Will be missed but look forward to whatever comes after :)
That nice and all but most people don’t have a JCW. I guess doing it on an S or JCW gets more clicks and views. Have you done any work on the base mini in the background? I have a 2017 F55 bought used. I am still a mini enthusiast since I really like the car always wanted to get one but I don’t have enthusiast money to spend on a weekend only car. I am slowly going to do some cosmetic things to be a little different but I am concerned anything I do to my base F55 engine etc will reduce it's reliability and life. I expect to drive this car till it's dead and expect that to be at min 300,000+ klm. Like most my other cars lasted. Many so called enthusiasts tend to sell their vehicles. I really do not think they are mini or “place car brand here “ enthusiasts they are just enthusiastic about spending excess money on their car.
Jon Ricketts Hey Jon I’m not in any major rush to sell so I am happy to wait for you to sell the BMW. Let know if this works and maybe we can have a chat at some point.
Another F56 with the common fault BMW will not recall, just like my 2015 Mini Cooper S you have bare and rusted metal from door rubbing door frame well i'm not alone look at 4:58,Door seals now get brown rust stains and are thinning too my car is 3 door so long doors and a lot of body rattle from a ridgid car and no good fix for it from BMW for these loverly cars,
They will actually repair this free of charge, I had it done at Tamworth mini and gave me a courtesy car. Said they were aware of the problem and would sort it.
I have an m60 jcw countryman in manual.
Going to do the stage 1 remap which gets about 280hp
Splendid 👍🏼👊🏼 good demo and info and well done 👏🏼 to Remap Kings…. Thank you !

Hi Jon
Thanks for the comments and I would definitely go for the remap. Loads of fun for sure.

Big brother and all that!!
Cheers Reg, thanks for the comment.
I loved that too, shame you were holding you mobile phone whilst driving... on the private road 😉
You should be able to get much quicker than 5.2 to 60. My mates cooper s that was running 280 managed a 4.5 it's seriously impressive

From slow to slow got ya !!! Plz 😂
love this!
Too kind...
Any longer term issues? Any effect on mpg? Thanks
No, and the tuners I spoke with say you can sometimes get even better mileage
Would be good to see this on a dyno

Hi Barry I’m interested in your Cooper Works loved watching you develop, the rub for me is selling my 2012 520m sport.

Now We Drive nice one Barry fully understand I’ll let you know how I get on
Why wouldn’t you use 2nd gear from 30?
Its automatic and didnt use paddles
You’ve just recorded yourself driving with a phone in your hands. 😂😂😂😂
