@@unc54that Clippers team WASN'T A GREAT TEAM AND NO POINT WAS GONNA WIN and the sixers were a Kwahi jumper from the Finals keep listening to gil who has NEVER WON ANYTHING
When Doc closers, he won a championship and reached another Finals. Clippers had NO CLOSER. Philly had NO CLOSER. Of course, the head coach gets a chunk of the blame for blowing series leads but same time PLAYERS have to play. This is the NBA. Mfers aren't robots out there. If something isn't working the players have the ability to do something else. The players didn't rise to the occasion. Dame and Giannis are closers in the highest order. Watch what they do in a closeout game.
Players rely on the gameplan and strategy that was set up by the coach, and its easier to be a closer when the gameplan helps. Just look at the difference in GSW after they hired Steve Kerr. Do you think GSW would have won any rings if they still had Mark Jackson or if they hired Doc as their coach? Embiid is a beast and could have been a closer if you put a good strategy around him, instead of just giving him the ball 19 feet from the basket and having the rest of the team just standing around. ALSO, players usually practice those same strategies the whole season, they can try something else in the playoffs if things arent working, but you cant expect them to completely change from what they have been practicing, especially the bench and the role players.
Doc Rivers? The one who told Duncan's family they can't be on the plane with the team, that's why he never signed with the Magic? Doc Rivers? The dude who coached a stacked Clippers team and achived zero finals with them?
I dont blame him for Philly. He had some real choke artist there. Hell anybody who has to coach Ben Simmons and James Harden back to back gets a pass. The only thing i really can blame him for is the Clippers coming up short every year.
Consulting in many fields can be considered an On the job interview. But for the organization to hire him immediately, damn near before, firing the previous coach. I believe he backdoored his way in or the other coach wasn't happy with the consulting"situation", and said something to get fired.. 30-13 record that's top 3 in the NBA, something seems fishy...
I don't like the hiring long term, but short term we know doc is going to get you to the playoffs, the question is how will giannis and lillard play once they are on their own in the playoffs with a coach going "c'mon guys" during time outs
I wanted them to explain the thought process on the Bucks making the decision hiring Doc Rivers. I mean they all know the stuff Gil and Kenyon mentioned. But what is it that make team keep hiring Doc Rivers over and over? Is it simply Doc kick ass in interview and selling the front office? A great salesman?
Croc Rivers is a charismatic weasel that has ESPN pushing his name for every job. He's the go to diversity hire for teams trying to look woke and progressive. To us critical NBA fans, we can see he is an underachieving failure of a head coach. However, the media absolutely adores him because of his dramatic and player first behaviour. I remember watching Croc cry after that idiotic criminal Jacob Blake got shot, Doc said, "Why do we keep loving this country when this country doesn't love us back?" Right there and then, I knew Doc was only an emotional simp of a man. He's not a strategic thinker, nor does he collect data before making a decision. He is an emotion first head coach. It shows in his coaching. ESPN loves Croc because he is an overly emotional black simp coach pleading for the white man to love him or give him a job. These owners follow the liberal leftist mandate. Watch media outlets commend the Bucks for hiring Rivers. ESPN and CNN especially.
@@Fucunt I get you mean. But apparently this what Aria AI thinks, "head game elite," they are typically referring to someone who is exceptionally skilled at providing oral sex. The phrase "head game" is a slang term for oral sex, and adding "elite" emphasizes that the person is highly proficient or talented in this area. It's a colloquial way of praising someone's abilities in this aspect of sexual activity.
It's amazing when a Coach allow players to play they make all the excuses and blame it on the coach. Isn't CP3 supposed to be the greatest leader? Why do you need a coach? He had work with Ben Simmons who isn't a player. Gil never been to a finals at all. I thought it was a players league? These guys have the excuses for why they lose and blame it on the coach and then they will say it's a players league. Doc puts them in position it is the players that need to execute.
A boost 😅,, watch the losses start pouring in because they been winning with that coach, giannis is spoiled . Milwaukee will be upsetted in the first round again due to karma for firing that good coach. Bye bye bucks.
Doc makes zero adjustments. He even said in an interview once that he believes players win games, so he effectively tries to just be a motivational coach with zero actual structure. Gil the only person in the media who has ever said this. Gil is on top and the realest commentator in the NBA circle, hands down.
I love the show but Gil is not the right person to say some of the things he says. He was a ME type player that NEVER won ANYTHING. So what makes him think he knows what's best to win???
As a Bucks fan, I’m excited for Doc, because he’s a good veteran presence for the team and how he’s more defensive minded. Everyone’s talking about how Doc sells in the playoffs, but I think Doc’s gonna try his hardest this time. If he gets fired this time, it’s over for Doc.
I Doc is going to get them to the finals seriously, he's never had two absolutely dominant and unstoppable players on the same team. Yes he's had all stars, future hall of Famers, but Greek and Dame? Both can go off any game on anybody. Let's sit back watch
Doc not changing anything or making adjustments after a win is the reason why they kept blowing their leads during play off runs throughout the years when the opposing team adjusted
First time I disagree with Gil but not totally it’s just not matter how you cut it Doc is 9th all time winningest coach. This bucks teams got a little of the 08 Celtics vibe when it comes to the veteran leadership💯
I don’t think you are disagreeing as much as you believe you are. His entire point is that given the talent and opportunities Doc has had - he damn well had better be the 9th all time winningest coach at least. Also, the 08 Celtics had a starting 5 made of 4 no doubt hof killers in their primes. The best Milwaukee has is a lesser version of KG and Ray Allen tbh
You literally proved Gil's point. He's had more generational talent than any other coach in the history of the game. That's exactly why he can have successful seasons. Talent alone can carry a team in the regular season where there are less x's and o's. So winningest coach is simply a result of the product of the talent, not of his coaching. Coaches skillset comes into play during playoffs, not the 82 game season.
I love how Doc is the reason those teams didn't do more. If Chris Paul had not gotten hurt during that playoff run I think they would have gone to the championship and possibly could have won it. He had Simmons in Philadelphia and that squad in Orlando had two Hall of famers that were either hurt or didn't have help. Boston played against some good teams and Ray left. It's not fair in my opinion to put all of the blame on him. If you are not going to put everything into context like who they play and everything that happened per game of course you can easily sit here and say he is a bad coach. All three of these guys had character issues so makes sense they speaking bad on him. Doc is making millions of dollars every job he goes to. I am quite sure he could give a damn about all of his naysayers
Gillard my boy Gil be acting like he did the most in the NBA 😂😂😂 I swear when he said wtf has he actually done, I just knew Brandon Jennings was gonna say something like wtf have you actually done 😂😂
Gills, that same argument can be made about Steve Kerr too. Steve had 4 All stars and MVPs in their prime to win multiple championships. Same as Phil Jackson.
@@AdamEdn If you check NBA championships, you will see over 80% of those team had MVPs in their prime. This underlines the exclusivity and the difficulty in winning one championship. Having hall of famers does not guarantee either.
@@ebok33643 does not guarantee, sure. He’s also had MVPs and MVP caliber players in their primes for the vast majority of the time. For example, the current reigning MVP that may win it again. Does it guarantee anything, obviously not. Does it increase the likelihood of being able to make it past the second round? Certainly. The point remains, those that are considered “all time great coaches” don’t seem to hit the same wall or suffer from the inability to make appropriate adjustments when placed in similar situations.
Idk, I have some skepticism on this. The major knock seems to be "he's only won one ring despite having great teams." But a few things: 1. It's not like his teams were wiped off the flour in the playoffs. In most of his seasons, his teams have been bounced in the conference semifinals-basically the second round ... but a TON of those series went 7 games. With the 76ers-three times to the Conf. semis, 2 of those times-7 game series. 2. It obviously takes some luck to win the championship. More than a few years, it's pretty clear Rivers's team got unlucky. Like you can't put the notorious injury trouble the Clippers had on him. And I think zooming in the series, you see that there's some luck issues. In the Hawks series-which is the one series I think every admits they unequivocally should have won-you have to consider that Ben Simmons just turned into an unrecognizable version of himself (and arguably hasn't since recovered). No one predicted that. Or in '22-23, when he took the Celtics to 7 games. For one, that Boston team was very good-Brown/Tatum and a supporting cast of Horford, Marcus Smart, and Malcolm Brogdon. But, for two, look at the stats in the final game. Sure, Tatum scored 51 ... but could anyone have predicted that James Harden and Joel Embiid would combine to shoot 8 of 29? The TEAM shot 37.3% from the field and 21% from 3. Is that really a "Doc should've made an adjustment" issue (what adjustment are you gonna make? ... or are the people saying that just in the "I believe there's always an adjustment that can be made" school?). To be clear: I'm not a big fan of this hire because I think Griffin should've been given longer. Like, of course we were going to see growing pains ... but it's not like the Bucks were only beating bad teams-they blew out the Celtics in January and went toe-to-toe with them in November, losing only by 3 points. If Griffin was "the guy" and you believed in him at the start of the season, I don't see how you panic this much and think "oh man we can't even try a full season with this guy" when you have the second-best record in the East. But "oh Rivers can't coach at all" also seems like an overreaction.
Bucks should've found a way to keep Jrue, if at all possible. As much as I love Dame, I love his game on the offensive end. I've never once watched him and thought "He's an okay defender."
I don’t understand how some don’t go tell Giannis, “hey bro you know doc done blown 3-1 leads multiple times and can’t adjust in playoffs” but nope. 2nd round exit coming and it will be on Giannis

If something isn't working the players have the ability to do something else. The players didn't rise to the occasion. Dame and Giannis are closers in the highest order. Watch what they do in a closeout game.
Facts 💯%!!!!
Gil covered his head 😂
Finally I completely agree with Gil
I dont blame him for Philly. He had some real choke artist there. Hell anybody who has to coach Ben Simmons and James Harden back to back gets a pass. The only thing i really can blame him for is the Clippers coming up short every year.
Everybody: Anybody could win with HoF players, Phil Jackson secretly trash
Doc Rivers: hold my beer
A great salesman?
probably smashes job interviews. personality his way in
Croc Rivers is a charismatic weasel that has ESPN pushing his name for every job.
Head Game elite I heard
@@Fucunt I get you mean. But apparently this what Aria AI thinks,
"head game elite," they are typically referring to someone who is exceptionally skilled at providing oral sex. The phrase "head game" is a slang term for oral sex, and adding "elite" emphasizes that the person is highly proficient or talented in this area. It's a colloquial way of praising someone's abilities in this aspect of sexual activity.
I hope you dudes are right and this may benefit my Knicks
He been sweating Lexi ever since she changed tht hair, she look fye tho😂
You can’t blame him Lexi looking good now and finally learned to dress better
@@Fucunt 😂😂😂 lmao had a glo up
They have a glaring hole for POA defense and Kenyon Martin suggested another scorer for the 2nd best offense in the league🤦🏽♂️
If you think Doc is not an overrated head coach then you are lying to yourself.
He’s a top 15 coach of all time
I Love gils laugh.
How you call Doc when Mark Jackson is available?
Nobody thought was gonna lead the Bucks to championship, so I’m not surprised by this. We’ll see what happens.
Woah. Woah. Woah, Gilbert. Ain't no if about " if Ben Simmons makes the Hall of Fame," That's not happening.
Like fine wine❤
It's amazing when a Coach allow players to play they make all the excuses and blame it on the coach. Isn't CP3 supposed to be the greatest leader? Why do you need a coach? He had work with Ben Simmons who isn't a player. Gil never been to a finals at all.
I thought it was a players league?
These guys have the excuses for why they lose and blame it on the coach and then they will say it's a players league. Doc puts them in position it is the players that need to execute.
GILBERT SPITTIN FACT ON FACT ON FACT HOLY
I think the bucks will do well. This is a good change a boost for them
They're doing well right now
Well into a 3-1 lead lost why yes lmao
Right. And I don't that stops with a coaching change. @@PhoenixRising82672
A boost 😅,, watch the losses start pouring in because they been winning with that coach, giannis is spoiled . Milwaukee will be upsetted in the first round again due to karma for firing that good coach. Bye bye bucks.
Man people think cause you have Giannini n dame that's its a wrap ,, FOH!!
Facts 💯%!!!!
6:24 that nervous swallow sound 😂😂
As a Bucks fan, I’m excited for Doc, because he’s a good veteran presence for the team and how he’s more defensive minded. Everyone’s talking about how Doc sells in the playoffs, but I think Doc’s gonna try his hardest this time. If he gets fired this time, it’s over for Doc.
I'm with you on this.
DOC is safe and isn't going to push the needle. Without a KG type player, the Bucks will never win.
@@gregoryldismukes Giannis? Dame?
@@gregoryldismukes The Bucks will win this year, guaranteed.
@@Ausnapify lol not with D.O.C
I Doc is going to get them to the finals seriously, he's never had two absolutely dominant and unstoppable players on the same team. Yes he's had all stars, future hall of Famers, but Greek and Dame? Both can go off any game on anybody. Let's sit back watch
He had James harden and embiid last year wtf!!!
All I know is, this is deff Doc's last chance on coaching in the NBA...
People were saying that last time... Doc always seems to be able to finesse his way into a head coaching job somehow.
@@AquarianAngelexactly these people are delusional it was his last time when he was with the clippers yet somehow he is coaching my team🤦♂️
Doc not changing anything or making adjustments after a win is the reason why they kept blowing their leads during play off runs throughout the years when the opposing team adjusted
I be stuck on Lexie 🥲❤️
Who is she
Jeez look at Kmart biting his whole lip off trying not to laugh 😂
@@gringoboy701 to your point I didn’t realize the greatness he coached💯
@@AdamEdn Rondo was my favorite PG but he def was not a KILLER like KG or Pierce.
@@geezyeskabante 1. Rondo was cold blooded af. Especially “Playoff Rondo.” 2. Your favorite PG was their #4. Think about that…
0:18 Gil's got that J.Jonah Jameson laugh lol!
How Kenyon looking at Brandon when Gil talk😂😂😂
I always felt like if you fire the coach you fire the whole staff involved 😆
Gills, that same argument can be made about Steve Kerr too. Steve had 4 All stars and MVPs in their prime to win multiple championships. Same as Phil Jackson.
Yes… but they met - if not exceeded - expectations… that’s his whole point. Imagine Phil Jackson having the same teams but only one ring 😅
@@AdamEdn I don’t think Doc had 4 hall of famers (with MVPs) in their prime at his disposal continuously for number of years. Kerr and Jackson did.
@@ebok33643 the fact that you had to add “with MVPs” is telling but even outside of that - he had more all-pros than anyone.
The major knock seems to be "he's only won one ring despite having great teams." But a few things:
Gil needs to be a head coach in the NBA
I don’t understand how some don’t go tell Giannis, “hey bro you know doc done blown 3-1 leads multiple times and can’t adjust in playoffs” but nope. 2nd round exit coming and it will be on Giannis
Gil the same guy that said clippers wasn’t going to work when James got there
