    The fact that they lost jrue holiday to one of their biggest rivals, who now look like a juggernaut, AND hired one of the worst playoff coaches I've ever seen, shows the bucks really fumbled this season.

    Gil is nailing all the issues here. Doc seems like he’s still not coaching the team the way he talks. It’s everyone else’s fault when he talks. He’s watching the team and travel crew?? He wanted to take Giannis out but they talked him out of it?? Seems odd to play the blame game like that.

    • @dawk203
      @dawk203 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +31

      What are you talking about? Doc is doing everything he can and more. It's obviously the players fault, the equipment manager fumbled the season away, and the bus driver needs to be thrown under the bus. Pretty sure the ladders have been a big problem too, the league should look into that.

      Gill should be should be blaming player empowerment. This is what happens when you let players run the show your teams lose. Most players are inherently selfish. That's why they became great players in the first place so most of them don't care about teen success they care more about individual success, and will take your teams future.

    The first year with Jrue The defense was ranked 10th the next year, 14th last year, 4th. Which was actually worse, then the previous 2 years with eric bledsoe Where they were first. So as great as Jrue is as a defender. He's not responsible for the Fall off from last year. Their defense was actually better before he got there. I think the loss of Bud is more the problem

    I can tell Kris Middleton is well liked in the league because people just won't admit that he's the one holding the Bucks back. This guy caught lightning in a bottle for one playoff run and now he's looked at like that guy. But of course all the injury excuses and hype will make you forget that he wasn't that dude before or after that Finals run. And people wonder why the Bucks are not athletic on the perimeter. But they can't get rid of Middleton without pissing Giannis off. So they're basically stuck with him as long as Giannis wants him on the team

    • @BruceMichaelFilms

      They should move him to the bench like they did with Klay on the Warriors.

      @ryanrivas9369 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ....And put who in his place? Middleton for years, has been the guy when they REALLY REALLY need to hit a shot. Even with Dame joining, his value has increased because you have to worry about Giannis and Dame before you worry about Middleton. In the past, he was the number 2 guy behind Giannis. The Bucks have 6 guys that can shoot the 3, and that is scary for every other team because that will give Giannis more room to operate.

    • @bossp6624
      @bossp6624 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ryanrivas9369 now if you talking about who's on the team that can replace him now, then you have a point. But if you're talking about any other player in the NBA. I can name a lot of people they could have signed or traded Middleton for. Giannis is the only reason he's still on the Bucks

  • @bradm4493
    @bradm4493 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +67

    I think what people forget is it’s not like bucks won championship and then the next year traded Holiday for Lillard. They won the championship, lost in semis then lost in 1st round. They made a move and as of right now it looks like it didn’t work out. The alternative is they sit back and run it back for 3rd time and lose again. Then everyone says the definition of insanity is doing same thing over and over and expecting different result.

    Gil is right that drop coverage bs that they play ONLY worked cause Jrue and even Greyson to a lesser extent were willing to fight over/thru screens, force the ball handler to take more than 2 dribbles to shoot (By that I mean no 1 dribble pullups off screens, and limiting shots on dribble handoffs), and force the ball handler into help (even still Bucks gave up alot of threes). Now guards can get into their 1 dribble pull up bag with dang near 10 feet of space cause Dame, Pat C, Malik aint fighting over screens, which exposes Lopez and makes Giannis cover more space, which takes both Brook and Giannis out the pain, and since Khris Middleton athletically is shot at the pro level its backdoor cut city from the weak side. That drop coverage bs gotta stop for them

    They should have kept with Griffin. He tried to make them more versatile on defence, as Bud's strategy was being outplayed by current playing styles. But he could adjust, it was too early in the season.. Their mistake was listening to Giannis who had leverage over contract and hired Griffin instead of Nurse. MJ didn't like Phil initially, but that is the genius of Krause. Nurse is the best coach in the NBA, together with Spo and Kerr (Pop is in the GOAT status conversation)

    The problem is the Bucks are terrified at the thought of Giannis leaving, so they think if they do whatever he wants he won't leave results be damned, but Giannis will leave when he shoulders the blame for these moves.
    Brook Lopez is 36. How many more seasons do you have with him? They don't make 7 foot tall 3pt shooting centers at Santa's workshop. You probably only have one more year with him.
    Middleton is 32 and becoming more and more injury prone.
    At the end of this season the Bucks are going to have a decision to make and running it back won't be an option. You're either going to trade Giannis or rebuild around him and Dame. Middleton and Portis probably have to go. Maybe you try to trade for Alex Caruso, someone who can play D, doesn't need the ball to be effective.

  • @bdgabuilt
    @bdgabuilt 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    They felt like Griffin wouldn't get them over the hump. Giannis was beefing with him then Terry Stotts resigning as assistant coach didn't help. I think Dame wanted him there so things haven't exactly gone according to plan. Doc was just a bad backup plan 😅

    The Bucks won the Dame trade. The only goal of the Bucks was to resign Giannis. He did not sign when eligible with Jrue. He gave the go ahead for the trade and signed the extension early because of it. The organization’s goal wasn’t to win a championship, it was to resign Giannis and they did that

  • @007HuntaNG

    Crazy thing is, people said Jrue wasn’t enough offensively for them. But outside of his shakey offense, he’s too vital to trade just for more “offense”. Cause look now, when Dame doesn’t produce that trade is literally a waste because he does nothing else good.

    The Bucks went backwards after winning the championship. I don't think they should have traded for Dame or not given up Holiday in the trade. Middleton has slowed down a bit and giving away the white guy from Duke was a big loss also. Letting go of the twin center was a bad move also. They have gotten smaller and less defensive prowess. Let go of their coach then let go of their next coach. I don't think they have to worry about The Greek freak leaving. He will get that one last humongous contract and ride off into the sunset. Doc Rivers hasn't had on an NBA uniform in many years so I am trying to figure out how he is the reason for them losing.
