Night Ranger had a one of a kind performance at the Key Bank State Theatre in Cleveland on November 9th 2022 as they performed their entire show with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra. CYO is made up of 90+ musicians aged 12 to 18, representing more than 40 schools in Ohio. It has grown to include a full orchestra, wind, string and percussion ensembles. The students performed alongside Night Ranger on all 15 of their songs this night.
Contemporary Youth Orchestra, founded in 1995, aims to give students the opportunity to work and perform both new and contemporary orchestral music. One of the regular projects of the Cleveland-based CYO has been to collaborate with well-known pop and rock acts such as Jefferson Starship, Styx, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, and Kenny Loggins (among others) for orchestral concerts featuring the artists’ work. It’s a slightly different arrangement of their music in which the orchestra works with the composer to develop the full orchestral performance.
This show was unlike any other Night Ranger show - not only did it raise funds for the Contemporary Youth Orchestra Education Fund, but the band decided to film the entire performance and bring it to the masses showing it all start to finish. These unique renditions of their greatest hits were for the first time ever - performed with an entire symphonic orchestra. The setlist combined the band's classics, new songs and covers, and all of this together is what made this a truly once in a lifetime Night Ranger concert event.
Jack Blades - Vocals, Bass

"Goodbye" is a power ballad by the American hard rock band Night Ranger. It was released in October 1985, as the third and last single from their album 7 Wishes. It was written by guitarist Jeff Watson and singer Jack Blades. The lead vocals on this song are sung by drummer Kelly Keagy.
Lyrics:
… As the sun hides his head
For another night's rest
And the wind sings
His same old song
And you on the edge
Never close, never far
Always there when I needed a friend
… Yet it's hard living life
On this memory-go-round
Always up, always down
Spinning 'round and 'round and 'round
… And all this could be
Just a dream so it seems
I was never much good at goodbye
… There once was a time
Never far from my mind
On the beach, on the 4th of July
I remember the sand
How you held out your hand
And we touched for what seemed a lifetime
… Now it's hard
Leaving all this behind me now
Like a schoolboy so lost
Never found until now
… And all this could be
Just a dream so it seems
I was never much good at goodbye
… Yet it's hard
Living life on this memory-go-round
Always up, always down
Turning 'round and 'round and 'round
… And all this could be
Just a dream so it seems
I was never much good at goodbye
… And all this could be
Just a dream so it seems
I was never much good at goodbye
… Goodbye
Reaching No. 17, the song is the last U.S. top 40 hit for the band to date. The music video for "Goodbye" was good rotation on MTV at end of that year.[ - เพลง
These guys are getting so old, i wish they could live forevermore
Brad Gillis is a beast on that guitar solo!!! Wow!!
Night Ranger is one of my favorite live bands ever. Always a great show and Brad Gillis is baaaad mamma jamma!
In my opinion this is the perfect concert song, and I could listen to it a thousand times and not get tired of it. I've had the great pleasure of hearing them in concert twice, including Kelly Keagy's very first show back from heart surgery. Glad he's still with us! Night Ranger, as long as you want to, you can still ROCK in America!!
My son also died from a drug overdose. I always loved this song and when Jimmy died I totally understood this song. Plus, my father died for Fourth of July.
Brad Gillis solo was so Epic on here
That ROCKED, Night Ranger!!!! 💜💜💜
Ce groupe est fantastique. A french fan.
たまんねえっす。カッコいいし。美しい曲にストリングスとの共演がまたしびれましたあ。日本人でゴメナサイ
What gets me more than the composition is that the young kids got up there on stage and likely played all songs they did not even know. It was a very nice blend of generations. I hope that these kids got to really appreciate the music. Night Ranger has unfairly been dubbed a one hit wonder over the years. Yes, every now and then you hear Don't Tell Me You Love Me. But Night Ranger was more than just Sister Christian.
Touches the soul!
太鼓に行くまで思わせぶりなとこもしびれるう~!たまんねっす
❤❤❤I loved being at this show❤️❤️❤️
This band is my guilty pleasure...so efffffin good
So wonderful to hear real strings in a rock song that was originally recorded with synthesized strings. Beautiful ending as well (as opposed to the fade out in the original).
Great job from Night Ranger as always.
Priceless
I loved the group, Dawn Patrol and Midnight Madness were back to back masterpieces. I wore them out back in the day but I do not have the same feelings about the band knowing how they treated Jeff.
40 years of great music and we always hear how "the bands of the '80's' " have lost it and it is time for them to call it a day, well that may be true for most....but these guys obviously took a little better care of those vocal chords and their bodies, cuz they sound great and the knees and fingers all look like they are functioning fine and ready for at least a few more years.
