Kelly is one of the most underrated voices there is. He is phenomenal ! Every time I hear this song it reminds me of a girl I used to know back in the 80s. So many memories. Thank you night ranger. Good times . 👍👍
So true. And Brad Gillis being such a powerful guitar player really never has received any credit for the background vocals he's provided since day 1, while not being overpowering, the songs wouldn't be the same without his vocal presence. Mahalo Brad
When I hear these 80’s and 70’s bands reprise their songs, and do it so well, I think to myself- what have they been teaching in music classes to kids since 1995?? Cuz there is not a single song made in the last 20 years that can even come remotely close to the sound, talent and sheer mastery of bands and songs like this!
Effin’ oath. The generation after these guys probably started looking toward carbon copies for inspiration, and then each generation afterwards looked to further carbon copies. Like door keys, each copy of a copy gets worse - until you end up with MONKEY SHIT on the radio like we have today.
It's not something that can be learned in a class or assembled in a music studio. It's something that comes from guys playing together again and again, getting into the groove so when it's ready for showtime, it's ready for the world. The love of music, of playing music, of having others love their love for the music, that's what makes classic rock of all ages and types classic. The recording companies these days lure in all the contest winners and the wanna-bes with the Rich And Famous Contract, while forgetting what it took for the hit makers of old to make the hits that earned them the big contracts.
No autotune needed here folks. These oldschool guys sing it on pitch without the computer to help them. Wow, Kelly Keagy's voice gave me the chills at the end of this. Reliving the 80s'.
People at work are no doubt sick of my ranting about modern Pop singers and music (and how SHIT they are). I wonder how they can think the crap they’re listening to on the radio is anywhere near as (let alone more) entertaining and pleasant to the ear as this stuff is. Re: the autotune though - it sounds as though they either have a little bit of stage tune on him, or the preamp his voice is going through is adding a bit of twang on certain notes. Still, you can’t fake tone like this. I love the old 80s rock singing style and nothing else compares.
My son, the guitarist is going through an accoustic phase right now and he just sent this to me to hear. Wow! And you can tell we raised him right - he's only 24 and he loves all the classic rock.
I didn't think this gorgeous song could get anymore beautiful - but it just did when I saw this. I'm 65 (2022). I loved this when it first came out. Today, I love it even more - acoustic or electric. "Sister Christian" lifts me up like no other song. Period. Thank you so very much, Kelly and Night Ranger. Best wishes to all of you.
This is a fantastic song! Possibly my favorite of all time, and these guys are still nailing it 35-40 years later. Seen them at a local club here in Pittsburgh several times recently. Great shows.
These songs are so durable! PT Anderson used this song in the infamous Firecracker Scene in 1997's Boogie Nights. This song is timeless! It could be used as a Portal back to the 80's! I'm there! Aw, memories!
Kirk- spot on!!!! Just what I was thinking. This is most awesome especially after so many years - released I think @1984. Also I some trivia - drummer Keagy wrote it for his sister Christy - but it sounded to the band like ‘sister ‘Christian’ And that’s how it was recorded. .
I like both the original as well as the acoustic version, after all a classic Is a classic... The epitome of an era I loved living through.... Thanks for triggering my memories... 👍🙂
Hermosura a mas no poder. Tengo lágrimas a flor de piel, esto no se repite, es único, una época, una memoria colectiva impregnada de esta caricia acústica. Indescriptible.
Wow. Nice. Was playing along with the song; they did it in key of B instead of the original C. Absolutely flawless classic that 100 years from now will be playing on some media somewhere. Thanks NR!
Gonna see them on 5/8/21 in Downtown Houston. Night Ranger was the only band I liked growing up in the 80s, and the only band I attended a concert under the stars in Astro World. I was only 16 years old. Now I am 54 and won’t be the last time I will see them as long as they come to Houston. Night Ranger is made up of some of the best musician in the world and virtuoso guitarist. Personally I even like Brad more than other iconic guitar player.
I can't believe the lineup! From left to right: On keyboards- The Edge Guitar 1 - Sebastian Bach Guitar 2 - Lou Graham Guitar 3 - Wolverine Guitar 4 - Tommy Morrison And on drums...Joe Biden! 😂
NO auto tune here kids, just awesome talent. Beiber needs to watch & listen to guys like these. Music in a pretty raw form that sounds incredible and is pretty much timeless.

The 80ties are the best

Cobain died in 94. The day the music died 😉😉😉
Amen to that. Rock stopped being good after the 80s.
Wow that sounded so good after all these years.

Man the 80’s and 90’s was such an epic time for music.

Love bands that can nail the vocal harmonies in acoustic settings like this. Props to NR for still being relevant.
Most certainly agreed there Christian. NR "appears to be also to me" relevant here, even much so. Adios.
Amazing. Brings back a flood of good memories! They are fantastic!
Wow, that chorus harmony hit me, amazing!
No distortion no bar just straight guitar mastery by the Brad!
best one . my dad listened to this so i grew up to this kind of music
Wow. Love this. Better than the studio version. You know you have real musicians when they can pull something like this off.
Boogie nights brought me here. This song is epic.

Pure and so good all these years later

Ahhh my favorite song from 1983. It makes me so happy every time I hear this song. Love Love LOVE it!! It's so sexy when the drummer in a band sings.

Love tha fact that these guys are still going string and having fun!!!

Es la canción qué más amo desde que tenía 15 años...me sentía sister Christian. ..mil gracias
What a collection of freaking talent!
One of the few bands from my decade who still sound as good or better than than they did 30 years ago.
Just saw them in concert last night and you are spot on...they still sound amazing!
I'm so damn old.

Love these guys as a teenager looking for inspiration as I learned guitar and drums. 😎

Thanks NR!
This acoustic version was awesome!! The guys still have it, and sound great.
Brad Gillis is a guitar God
Yes verily ME, he appears to be this to me also, and wink.
Great version! I also like their NAMM acoustic version with all Taylor guitars & no drums.

It's been 40 years and I still can't figure out if this song is pro or anti motoring?
🤣
I can't believe the lineup!
From left to right:
On keyboards- The Edge
Guitar 1 - Sebastian Bach
Guitar 2 - Lou Graham
Guitar 3 - Wolverine
Guitar 4 - Tommy Morrison
And on drums...Joe Biden!

Wow, sounds great guys. Well done.
Kelly Keagy is such a bad ass! What amazing talent!

I can imagine the sound guy's are like, oh you have three guitars! And the drummer is the lead singer !? Shouldn't be a problem! 😂
Perfect.
You can always spot a guitar player playing keyboards. Keeps those finger glued to the keys. Great song though.
great performance
