    Doing the Faulty Towers trip here in September. I travel Pullman class to Carlisle through the lakes and back down the coast. Absolutely brilliant.

      Now that sounds like a really good trip. Special. Did you book that yourself as individual parts or are the plans part of a group or scheme? Enjoy :) Warren

    You don't know how much effort and time it took to extend the line to Bolton Abbey, decades! Embsay railway used to link up with Skipton and from there you can go to Leeds, British Rail have very exacting standards and won't allow it now though.

      This was a cheeky extra visit on my way to the start of a walk. I do rather like visiting railway lines like this one - and this railway was most enjoyable indeed. Thanks for your comment as always, cheers, W :)

    you are so lucky to have a working station like that near you, I'm very jealous

      Not so very near to my home really, it is over 4 hours drive away, but I was in the area at the time so wanted to enjoy a few hours there on the railway. It was well worth the visit. Do you have any restored railways anywhere near you at all? W :)

    Lovely video. I am a member of the railway so I am interested in what you thought of it? Did you enjoy it, were there things that could be improved. Many thanks

      I really enjoyed my visit and trip along the railway. I found the pre-booking on the website very easy, lots of information on the website which was very helpful. I arrived rather early and before the train was ready, so had time to wander and enjoy the station at Embsay. I was really impressed with the level of organisation from the team who were working on the day. I have been a Guard on the Bluebell Railway some years ago and know how much work goes in to getting a train ready for the first run out. The staff on the station were very friendly indeed, most welcoming. I enjoyed the run out and back and would like to have stayed for longer but didn't have the chance that time. I was hoping to get a glimpse of the petrol-electric unit but I didn't this time. All good indeed. Well done to the teams that worked hard on the day. Nice one :) W

      I’m planning to go there for a trip and will let you know. Is there any car parking facilities there ? And what are the costs? Thanks

    • @HM...333
      @HM...333 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Faris0802 Yes, plenty of parking ( on tarmac with a bit of gravel as a sort of overflow) and it is free for all passengers traveling on the train. Hope that helps!

    Eh up lad, what's Manchester go to do with it? The whole line's reet fairly in Yorkshire. By heck lad, Leeds is the centre close by, not Manchester. Anyways, well done lad; a fine visual experience!

      Hey you are obviously right there; Leeds is the most local significant city. I can almost "hear" your accent when reading your comment Kit :) Cheers, W

    • @Linleys
      @Linleys  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am sorry but I don't remember how much the ticket was. I think it was a reasonable price and something like £12 return. Well worth the visit. Cheers :) Warren
