    Great footage. You must have been cold clinging onto the side of the engine to get it but that just shows dedication.

      Thankfully I have magnetic camera mounts, I get to put the cameras where I can't go. Not to say I wasn't freezing anyway, I always seem to come back from Yorkshire with mild hypothermia (but it's worth it, beautiful part of the world).

      @@TheTouristLine well that works too. Ha.
      Funnily enough the embsay and bolton abbey railway is one ive never actually been to for some reason. But it's added to the list now.
      And yorkshire hypothermia is good hypothermia. If you return home with fingers encased in ice it's usually the sign of a good day.

    I'm really enjoying seeing these videos also they are a great reference for lines I look to visit to see what lineside locations there are, looking from above on google maps can be a bit deceiving sometimes

      This comment 👍 I do exactly the same. I will often check out a route on Google and spend the entire real journey realising what I was looking at!

      @@TheTouristLine I have had it before where I have googled a location and it looks OK then I get there and its not quite suitable for me to film then I'm frantically trying to find somewhere new before the train comes along

    Been on there a couple of times. I have often thought that it would be a great tourist attraction if it also went up to the quarry near Craco, it would make a great triangular rail and walking route back down the river Wharfe to the other end of the line could be done in either direction. Great video, you can see so much more in winter.

    • @TheTouristLine

      It did look stunning in winter, always a gamble weather wise but it really paid off this time 👍 I am not familiar with the quarry you've mentioned, where abouts is it? You've got me curious now

      @@TheTouristLine the quarry is between Skipton and Grassington with a rail connection to this line, look on Google earth.

    • @adelestevens
      @adelestevens 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There wasn't a connection to the YDR last time I was there.
      I think the points were taken out some years back , which is a shame because wouldn't it be great to have running rights into Skipton station and passengers transferring from the Leeds line electrics like at Keighley .

    • @neilcurson4505
      @neilcurson4505 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a shame, as yet the mineral trains from the quarry still connect in Skipton.

    I wonder if this line will ever get back to addingham and skipton I see the platform 2 has been put back in position

      It would be great to see, it is a really lovely location so any length added to the line would be a bonus really

    Do pacers run on this line?

    • @TheTouristLine
      @TheTouristLine  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at the moment, I know they are working on one but I am not sure where it will be running once fixed up. I am off to film in a Pacer next weekend down at the Midland Railway, something about them fascinates me and I have been trying to get a camera in the cab of one all year
