    close to a 1000 rounds in mine. I know that my Stainless barrel will drift up and left at 100 yards after 100 rounds of steady shooting. Cools off, returns to zero. Never had an issue. I laugh when I see some couch bound cowboy tacticool waxing hate on PSA. Some people need to brag on what they spent. I spent $350 on a rifle, $900 on ammo.

    I have a PSA that I bought in two pieces - a complete upper and a complete lower - on their daily specials. It shot great and had no malfunctions at all. I was using all Privi Partizan 62gr. SS109 but I was impressed with what this $430 AR did. It's got nitride coating on the barrel - inside and out. I had been a fan boy of chrome lining and I don't know for a fact that nitride is as durable but it def doesn't hurt accuracy. Got .5" groups at 50 yards. Prob 1.5" at 100 which is totally on par with all of my previous builds on Del-Ton kits.

    Howdy, Brother! I have a similar AR from PSA (Twist Rate 1:8) for a couple weeks now. Went out to the field twice with 100 rounds each time (AAC 55 grain). No problems. Sighting it in a 36 yards was fun. Then shot well at 50, 75 and 100 yards. Took me two days but it was a blast! The spousal unit (my lovely wife) will join me the fun next weekend. If she shoots better than me, I'll commend her but I'll have some obvious excuse ready. Thanks for sharing your experience and Drive-On, Cowboy! 🤠

    I fell in love with the simplicity of this back to basics rifle. Its refreshing to have a rifle without all the spray paint camo jobs and accessories. I installed a $16 Strike Industries extended latch for the factory charging handle. First outing at the range I put in 500 rounds through my psa build. Currently put over 4k rounds through it and it's still pretty solid. For the price I'd recommend em any day of the week. Only issue I've had was when using steel ammo. Extractor sheared off the lip on the steel casing, bring a cleaning rod with ya to the range if it gets stuck.

      @OutdoorJack  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @HatsuneM1ku01

      That’s because ars are not designed to run steel case like an Ak is. The way the chamber is designed relies on the brass expansion to seal the chamber when the round is fired. The Ak 762 gets around this by using a more tapered case

    A CTS Target system that fits onto a common T-post /fence post is what you want. The 550 steel target is bulletproof but the mounting hardware isn’t, the T post mount protects all but the easily replaced bolt behind the 550. Chains are literally the weakest link in target systems. I’ve taken to shooting 9mm AR pistol caliber carbines to cut down on target repair and maintenance. The T posts take a lot of abuse but I cut one of those down with 5.56 last month. The CTS mounting system remains unmanaged behind the cover of the 550 steel.

      @OutdoorJack  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for the suggestions, I think I actually have some of those but on my little homestead TPost are usually used for animals stuff before I can use it for shooting haha

    I paid 519 for a standard PSA freedom rifle 1/8 twist with the regular barrel non FN. Immediately I swapped out the BCG ( the other one was okay) and charging handle for Aarow precision just because.... This thing shoots flawlessly with steel and brass I have put a little over 1,000 rounds through her already with both steel and brass with only 2 jams from the crappy tula steel cased. I would put this rifle up against my BCM and DD reliability wise. QC was on point no blems are bad looking parts. If your looking for a cheap reliable rifle PSA is the way to go

    Cool video! Thanks for posting. Sorry you were having trouble with your target chain. I thought the following video had a pretty good idea to hang steel targets (th-cam.com/video/ZM80mhlgv4k/w-d-xo.html)... they were shooting a larger caliber, but I think the concept would be something I would mimic, hopefully in the near future when I'm setting up a range.

    I have this with black milspec furniture, not Magpul. I think Palmetto calls it their Nitride NATO Classic.
    I have three of their ARs. The full size AR15A4 clone has a front handguard retainer that's a bit loose. The other rifles are fine.

      Just buy the upper to your door and get a lower in town at your local gun store. Buy a lower receiver that has a quality brand. Remember 80% of your gun value comes from your lower. Might as well get something worth holding value. If you have a $1000 Daniel Defense upper on a Anderson or PSA lower can only be sold for about $500.

      @@OutdoorJack that's the way I do it. Then if I decide to sell it off I know I can get my money back. Kind of a loop hole. People always judge the value of an AR from the brand that's on the lower. I've sold a few Palmettos with Geisselli lowers on them for more than double what I paid because people associate the gun as being a Geisselli, not a Palmetto. It only costs a little more to get a name brand lower.

      Mag as a support is fine if needed. You should try not to but it isn't as terrible as people make it out to be.
      I put thousands and thousands of rounds through my M4 in the military, many times using the mag as a support because of exhaustion, and it fire completely fine to this day 8 years later.

    • @claytidwell
      @claytidwell 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      by setup, I mean your hardware. I'm not sure how, but it appears that the chain/link itself broke. Is that what happened? The first time you made the repair, I saw a link on the ground below, but then you said, the chain must have been loose and came off. The second time was clearly the chain breaking. I dont know what kind of chain that is, but I have never seen one break like that. If you attach the plate correctly, the chain doesn't have to be all that heavy duty. Run hardened carriage bolts throughout the holes and attach the chain to the rear of the plate with a nut. The plate swings rearward when hit and the splatter is directed downward. And don't shoot the flippin chain!@@OutdoorJack.

      @@OutdoorJack I’m glad you haven’t had issue’s, I just received a PSA AK9, when the bolt is closed on a round you can still see the tail end of the brass and the Bolt wiggles back and forth while closed, the hammer has a decent size dent in it not sure how it passed QA, I don’t want to bash them but I’ve been on a warranty claim for almost 2 weeks now and haven’t heard a peep , called customer service they noticed my photos and strongly advised me not to fire this firearm it’s extremely dangerous and has headspace issues… it frustrates me because I loved shooting this gun to now it’s sitting in my cabinet just waiting for me and they haven’t even considered the fact they sold me a gun that had a higher chance of exploding. Also light primer strikes every other mag at the time due to the hammer being damaged
