So...honesty question here...do straight women actually want to see a buff gay dude? Because I don't find that kind of thing even remotely interesting.
Leslye Headland saying she has an interest in Star Wars is like Ted Bundy saying he has an interest in women. While it may be true, it is not a healthy interest.
Bundy was way too smart to come up with: “I like to make women uncomfortable.” Only an Indian documentary maker would be that dumb. Is she still going to create the next ‘Star Wars’ abomination?
Woa Woa Woa! Wait a second. Let me just quote that article: “most likely review ‘bombing’ by dissatisfied fans, who don’t like the show because of its messages”. Why does this article put this as if disliking something’s messaging isn’t an actual or valid criticism? It IS the criticism! What? Are people supposed to like a show regardless of disliking the messaging? What a stupid suggestion. Let’s write that different ways: “dissatisfied fans, who don’t like the show because of the acting”, or “dissatisfied fans, who don’t like the show because of the plot”, or “dissatisfied fans, who don’t like the show because of the cinematography”. But if it’s “messaging”, somehow that’s not a valid reason? Messaging is part of the story, the plot, the subtext. In other words, it’s a literal part of the package. It’s actually a BIG part of the package, because the messaging is the culmination of what the show is actually about. So, unsurprisingly, the suggestion is that if you don’t like or agree with THEIR message, your opinion is invalid. Sorry, but I’m not into your opinion policing. Also, it’s always “bombing” if it’s negative. They never claim to be “praise bombed” if people like their show.
Your comment should go to the top so everyone can read it. Extremely valid point! “Fans” not liking something is Exactly the Point of reviewing a show and saying whether they liked it or not! That IS the point!
It's because you're not allowed to dislike the particular message they're peddling. Doing so automatically qualifies you as a bigot or any of the countless -ists, take your pick. Every day we're creeping closer to thoughtcrime being a thing.
@@Vogon14I always say the left’s religion of intersectionality is very similar to Islam. They use a lot of the same tactics and try to silence all criticism.

My guy it’s purely aesthetics. The only reason more colors exists than red, green and blue is because Samuel L Jackson liked the color purple. If that doesn’t scream aesthetics than idk what will. Acting like they didn’t just make up shit to explain it away after the fact. We had zero explanation behind lightsabers and how they worked in the OG trilogy and the prequels. None of them ever address the connection/meaning of lightsaber colors and how they work.

I liked how the old games looked at the pros and cons and landed on the idea of a gray jedi. A balanced use of light and dark instead of modern writers subverting the audience and make the sith look good
I don't know where this "yellow means balance" thing came from. The Star Wars I know always said it was the color of lightsabers used by Jedi Sentinels and Shadows who were dedicated to the extermination of the Sith. According to the lore, it represents a desire for justice, not balance.
Its telling how they were belabouring how lazy parts of the writing of the old material was and then simultaneously go and throw it out there that they've never actually read it.
It's funny because there is a lightsaber color for people who are neither Jedi or Sith... It's orange. So... I guess they were kind of close... So close guys... Not yellow. You need orange.
It came, somewhere after Disney wiped out the EU lore. Even the whole balance of light and dark/grey knights, was not a real thing until the clone war show. The only people who claimed it before, claimed it right before they fell to the dark side.
Crazy thing is the purple lightsaber actually represent balance due to the fact that you have to be atone to the light but also familiar with the dark mace windy was one of the only Jedi able to achieve this but you have to know the EU for this info
Who is old enough to remember when a Play Boy or Rolling Stone article was the only time you would ever read an actors opinion about anything? Those were good times…
I was told it's not for me, so I'm not watching, same as Dr Who. I'm too busy touching grass. THIS IS WHAT THEY WANTED. I'm supporting them by NOT watching :)
and yet, Yellow lightsabers were originally wielded by the Jedi Temple Guards. No need to sit and come up with something. The answer already existed for decades.
@@chocolatebar6785 Those are only canon when they remember they exist, and happen to care. Just as the EU isn't canon, except when they want to cannibalize it for parts. Really, there is no canon anymore. The existence of a canon would mean the creators would have to actually learn and adhere to a set of rules of what they can and, more importantly, can't do when writing Star Wars, and obviously nobody's got time for that nowadays.
It’s an attempt at mass gaslighting in real time. They really believe that they still have fans that not only watch the modern shows, but actually like them.
The "you would make a good Dalek" clip made me realise something; Leslie Headland is the kind of person to _approve_ of the Daleks, despite them _literally being based on the Nazis._
The galactic empire of the original trilogy was based on the Nazi's, there main color pallets are red, black, white and gray. Palpatine is an allegory to Austrian mustache man, they both rode the back of popular support to the highest office, than used conflict to grow the power of the executive office, and finally made the legislative body useless in the case of Germany and disbanded in the case of star wars. The old sith empire in legends had a lot of fascistic imagery and had a training system similar to the ancient Spartans (most historians agree they are predecessors to modern Fascism) so one could make the argument Leslie is already approving of Nazis.
I feel like we are drifting away from Mary Sues. The new and improved hybrid is an amiable, misunderstood villain that will redeem herself by the end of the movie or show.
Light Saber colours ARE supposed to have some degree of reflection of the personality of their user, as well as their position. The fact that they didn't take this intopconsideration and just gave him a yellow saber because 'ooo pretty' is even more proof they don't care about star wars lore.
Yup! There was a Clone Wars (cartoon) ep where a group of Padawans part of their training is to get a Kyber crystal that called to each of them. Decent ep that helped to show the importance in the making of the Jedi's lightsaber.

The light saber’s colors, are not for aesthetics. I think they are planning on different colors, so when several Jedi’s pull their light sabers, it will be a rainbow of colors.
Disney lost touch with reality a long time ago. The audience IS the shite snack. Plain and simple. The audience IS who is or isn't going to pay to see what you have produced. And if the audience doesn't like what you have produced. That will be shared and the production will flop. Disney is more focused on making what they like and not concerned at all with making what the audience wants to see. This will end in the bankruptcy of Disney, and i for one can't wait for that day. The day that Disney is no longer corrupting the minds of anyone, anywhere, ever. And when that day comes. No one will miss them.
Good is bad and bad is good.... Bad guys are misunderstood, the Heroes are power hungry oppresses.... Gay good and straight bad.... Pride good and religion bad.... You can see Satan's whispers in the world
The canon reason from the clone wars cartoon for yellow lightsabers is they belong to Temple guards. Temple guards are Jedi knights that get rotated every few cycles. The lightsabers they wield are assigned to them and are then given back after their guard tour is over. Since the crystals don't have a constant user they turn yellow. The people who wrote this show don't know anything about star wars

@anakinsolo4529 Star Trek was not a generic syfy show, farscape was a generic syfy show with a low budget. It was considered generic back then by everyone. The Acolyte is Leslye Headland's mega blockbuster hit show where she shows the world that the only thing holding her back from making a decent TV show is talent, work ethic, ability, intelligence, creativity, restraint, (self-)respect, selfawareness and basic human decency. The first episode kicks off with a weird fever dream where Trinity is somehow back in the Matrix. But the AI was only fed on Disney Star Wars content so the world and its rules make no damn sense. What follows is fight scene between Trinity and evil feminized discount Rick James which is initiated by one of Rick James' greatest hits. "Attack me with all your strength!" -> translation -> "Give it to me baby". Evil feminized discount Rick James suddenly decides fighting a Jedi with a light saber is for losers and yells "Screw you, now I'm a ninja". In her desperate attempt to be like Naruto, she doesn't realize that she comes across like a cheap Boruto knockoff which, after just 5 minutes into the show, makes Trinity realize "wait a minute, this is really god damn stupid" and just dies out of embarresment for being in this travisty. What follows is a murder mystery without an actual murder mystery with good feminized discount Rick James in the middle of it. It is considered so incredibly complex that not even the Teletubbies wanted to give it a shoot because it would be an insult to their intellect. We get the strong implication that this is indeed a simulation because good feminized discount Rick James' awesomeness creates a glitch in the Matrix that makes fire burn slowly without oxygen in space. Later there is a prison break caused by a prisoner with the ability to mind control droids which could easily have been prevented if the droids controlling the ship would have encrypted their internet connection with Nord VPN. The episode ends with a ripoff scene from The Fugitive minus the stakes and the tension which makes good feminized discount Rick James act so stupid that one has to ask if she really trained to be a Jedi as a kid or that's what they told her and instead she visited a school for children with special needs. The premise of the second episode is that there is a Jedi master floating around in a room for the last 10 years until evil feminized discount Rick James tries to promt "Give it to me baby" on him but he doesn't like the song at all so this time it doesn't work. This guy's behavior marks the final confirmation that this isn't the world of Star Wars but a simulation within the Matrix because this Jedi acts entirely like an NPC. His clothes are clean, his facial hair looks like it's been taken care of and there is no sign of human excrements which would pile on after 10 years of not leaving this position. Evil feminized discount Rick James can't penetrate the force field with her song because of plot armor and those aren't the lines programmed into the NPC that causes him to interact with one of the other characters. Somehow she finds out what this NPC is all about, appearently she was able to have a look at his code because he also didn't encrypt his WLAN with Nord VPN. She phrases the lines nessesary to interact with him and hands him a vile that contains her song in liquified form which totally makes sense in the wolrd of Disney Star Wars and alignes with the loophole-free and tight worldbuilding we have seen so far in this show. He detests this song so much that it causes him to die of cringe especially after realizing that from here on out this "plotline" will only become even more god damn stupid. Meanwhile in an other part of the galaxy we are about to see a shirtless scene from the guy with the discount Killmonger haircut who looks definitively threatening when you squint your eyes together. Unfortunately for Leslye Headland and her team of writers who see this as nessesary and definitively not just as eye candy this shirtless scene is completely pointless because it doesn't have 90s Jean Claude Van Damme doing JCVD things. But then again it's a Star Wars show and giving the audiences what they want is contradictive to the work ethics of Disney Entertainment. That joke falls flat on my end; Disney Star Wars shows don't have audiences anymore. Furthermore JCVD is so efficient at what he does and would see through the stupidity of all the other characters that he would spin-kick everybody into submission and solve the plot in like 5 minutes or so after his first appearance. It seems obvious that with this show Leslye Headland wanted to impress her spiritual role model Steven Seagal. Like this show, Seagal movies make no sense what so ever and with a completion of just 25% of the runtime, the audience's intelligence and morals have been assaulted multiple times already. The main character always turns out to be the villain without Seagal/Disney realizing it. It's always a guy/in Disney's case girlboss with a dark past who goes on a killing spree for revenge and ends up causing way more destruction especially on innocent bystanders. But it's considered okay for the movie/show because it is Steven Seagal/current girlboss. After supressing those urges to kill the innocent, Seagal finally decides to move on and kill the villain because by now the runtime of the movie almost hits 90 minutes and after that he has to work for free. Leslye Headland even managed to give us the closest to an actual Steven Seagal cameo in episode 2 representing Seagal with the morbidly obese Jedi padavan. It's like in his movies when most of the time it's not Seagal but a body double just for walking/waddling around and making the rest of the female cast uncomfortable which is Seagal's specialty and several times they have a voice over from the local janitor whenever Seagal's mumbling becomes too incohesive or incomprehensible. And if there is one thing that Disney and Seagal movies taught us it's that even now it can always get much worse.
You pretty much nailed it. They still can't fathom they're screeching at the wall at this point. You can't be angry at "fans" that no longer exist anymore.

The Knights of the Republic dialogue sampled at 12:25 is amazing and a refreshing take on the Star Wars universe. Maybe refreshing is inaccurate given it's apparently been out a few years. A suicidal thought ridden Jedi Master is a sin to the whole Star Wars cannon, for being balanced is the only way to master "The Force". One moment he is impervious to everything, the next he wants to die. And he was so useless, so he had to wait to someone to bring him the poison to drink.
The fact that they trying to say the twin's conception was "Force Induced" shows the writers appropriated this from Anakin's birth in "Phantom Menace" when Qui-Gon Jinn asked Shmi about Anakin's birth

These articles try to set the critic's scores as the standard by which the show's success is only ever to be judged. However, given the fact that they are only rating on its adherence - or not - to certain politics, it's clear to anyone with half a brain that the numbers they come up with are not genuine. It's only the audience's reactions that are honest, and meaningful, when judging an entertainment product. They are the ones who paid their hard-earned money to watch it, have no ties to anyone in the production, and are not beholden to corporate stakeholders to say something positive about these products. The fans set the standard, while the critics don't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath.
I just love the look on Carrie-Anne Moss's face when she's confronted, to attack "with all her strength"... At this point all she wants to do is people-watch or have a nap, not fight some rando for her life.
I like how the news article just assumes anyone is a fan so they can preface their attack. Only 20% of the people who watched are the fans.... because they said they liked it. The rest, never were fans.... because the reverse logic is now true, 80% of fans hated the show. So if we got a topless man doing laundry as a first ...... When are we going to get the topless woman cleaning guns?

Worse than death... - Do not mate with her... (XD) - There must always be a Darth Traya People like whoever this creator is, are so arrogant as to think they need to change things when Kreia was always a strong, independent woman . Would they rather have every Disney subscriber give it a chance and then turn it off after the first 15 minutes, ultimately hurting the franchise even more. They should not be highlighting this show in any real way and especially not as some blockbuster. I can't believe how much money they spent on this garbage.
How do you destroy a franchise? Ask Disney they are experts at it because they are pissing off the fan base and are pandering to less than 1% of their viewers(it's like they are not getting the message). While trying to get new viewers they are losing the loyal ones they had. What makes this really bad they don't understand what people want and don't want. They needed to let their franchises do what was wanted and people were willing to pay for. This is where they fail - If it's not broken don't fix it , or GO WOKE GO BROKE. They should have seen this coming just look at Bud, Target and the rest!
I miss the EU reasoning for the different colors. From what i remember Yellow sabres were used by Jedi who were not as focused on the force or lightsabre skills. Instead they would take time to learn real life skills like hacking, lockpicking, espionage, and other skills that the force and lightsabres couldnt assist someone with. This made them exceptionally good at going out and hunting down sith artefacts on the black market and trying to ferret out potential plots and enemies in hiding. Again, from what i remember, in the original EU palpatine believed this group of thr Jedi were likely the most numerous survivors of Order 66
Ngl all it took was "I am going to kill you." and I closed out and stopped watching. Any script which has to tell me verbally what the plot is obviously doing is already bad.

Well put, that's why people are now calling it a religion. Something beyond criticism or questioning. You have to believe as a package.
It's because you're not allowed to dislike the particular message they're peddling. Doing so automatically qualifies you as a bigot or any of the countless -ists, take your pick. Every day we're creeping closer to thoughtcrime being a thing.

Yellow Light Sabers were the hallmark of Jedi Sentinels during the Old Republic. It's NOT just pure aesthetics, Harvey Weinstein's personal assistant!

Meanwhile in an other part of the galaxy we are about to see a shirtless scene from the guy with the discount Killmonger haircut
who looks definitively threatening when you squint your eyes together. Unfortunately for Leslye Headland and her team of writers
who see this as nessesary and definitively not just as eye candy this shirtless scene is completely pointless because it doesn't have 90s Jean Claude Van Damme doing JCVD things.

Is Disney ever going run out of money to waste. When will the audience matter again.
It's like asking when Russia will run out of conscripts
When will they realise that; “a fish rots from the head down”. Blaming your customers for bad products is not good business sense 🙄 !
This is like modern art where rich people buy it because it "says something to them", when in reality they're buying it as an investment. The hoi polloi, however, laugh at the rich for spending so much money on something that a five year old could produce.
"I don't know his IQ, but I have a good chance of hitting it on a dartboard" 😅😅 I'm stealing that for sure!
These people know absolutely nothing about Star wars. The lightsaber conversation alone blows my mind
Headland, "Oh lightsaber color has no meaning; I just got out my color wheel from Home Depot to see what might vibe." ???
I’m 100% certain there will be a scene with Jedi’s and a “rainbow” of lightsaber colors. Wait for it. This show dropped just in time for pride month. I expect the pander wars to continue.

Typical media butt covering
20:25 Perfect genre for Star Wars Expansion.
Have you heard of the Expanded Universe?
Nice review- I also cannot understand why Disney keeps churning out expensive trash. But you articulate my frustrations better than I can.
I just love the look on Carrie-Anne Moss's face when she's confronted, to attack "with all her strength"... It's the look of someone who's had a nice lunch and is just relaxing and enjoying themselves, only to have some try-hard come out of nowhere and try and get a rise out of her.
When are we going to get the topless woman cleaning guns?
tahts mysonicgistic!!!!!!!!!!!
"the reviews are not accurate, most people did not watch it"
That really isn't the flex they thought it is.
Reminds me of the Norm MacDonald joke, “Happy Birthday, hope you like crap”.
I guarantee that there will be a scene with a bunch of "jedi" making a rainbow with their lightsabers!
For the love of God do not let that woman touch Kreia.
Another Kreia fan! I was typing out my rant but browsed more comments. Sarah Kestelman's voice gave life to that character and very detailed dialogue. I can still, very roughly mind you, quote her two decades (?!) after the fact.
- Step away from him! I said step away. He brings you truth and you condemn him. The *arrogance* !...You who have forever seen the galaxy through the Force, see it through the eyes of the Exile!)
- And that is what I sought to understand...how someone could turn away from such power, (give up ?) the Force...and live...But I understand now. You did it because you had no choice.
- That is Nar Shaddaa, the true Nar Shaddaa you feel...
- I suffered...indignities...and fell into darkness.
- Apathy is death. Worse than death...
- Do not mate with her... (XD)
- There must always be a Darth Traya
People like whoever this creator is, are so arrogant as to think they need to change things when Kreia was always a strong, independent woman . Just cast and write her as is and it'll work. The characters speak for themselves.
Can't wait for the day, very soon now, when Hollywood runs out of money because it sure has run out of talent.
Sloppy Seconds Headland loves evil.
These are kids raised on Nick Jr who never had a dad in the house to raise them. Purple hair disease spreads, so be careful.
It was so corny they had side actors laughing at her in the script 😂 I couldn't believe it!
This world, ain't no such thing as modern audiences. It's a woman so in love with her political agenda, until she had forgotten herself and found only appetites.
Disney: did i take something people loved and ruined it?
Also Disney: no, im right and they are wrong, im always right.
.....and who'd have thought that long ago when FEZ from "that 70's show" called it STAR WH*RES he would turn out to be more right than we could possibly imagine.
