Ha! I've got that same "keyless entry system" on my CJ. Thanks for this video, gents, very straightforward with just the right details I need for my project.
How’d it work for you? I’m looking at getting an eagle and want to convert it. Does it work with the stock gas tank or what did you have to do for a tank and mounting it
Just starting a sniper install on my 1983 Cj7 so watching all the vids I can find. Mine had a Weber carb conversion and I noticed those studs were long as well when putting sniper on. apparently the BBD stock carb had a spacer. Had to order a carb rebuild kit that included the spacer. and then the studs were the correct length and you could get a socket over them to tighten the nuts. Just FYI for other guys watching the vid. Can't wait to get mine finished.
Wow, still running manual brake. I switched to hydroboost after I put 35s on. Thanks for the video. Considering finally replacing my 86s stock carb in the summer. Tired of having to wait 10 minutes for it to warm up in the winter. Otherwise it always stalls out.
I am working on adding this to my CJ7, what did you connect the pink wire into for a clean power source than delivers 12v in run and cranking? Maybe I missed it. Thanks!
awesome video, will be ordering mine shortly for my 76 CJ5 , did you guys notice less gas / exhaust smell out of the EFI system? I also have a weber carb and man oh man that smell of gas is killing me especially during shifts. Again thanks guys.
That is Awesome you should send us pics of your install when it’s over! The smell is drastically reduced with the efi, but if you are experiencing a lot of fumes your Webber may be out adjustment or rebuild. Or just efi swap it! Lol. Either way send us some pics!
Please provide more pics and info on the rollbar/cage in the CJ... I think I really like it but can't get a good look at it in the video. Also, I have a 360 and am thinking of putting the Sniper in it. Do y'all still recommend it after driving with it for a year? Thx and thanks for the video.
David Lester we have another video just about ready for it. We are just about as far as we can get without more parts and the supplier we used is not shipping until the pandemic/shutdown is over. So we will be getting back to it as soon as we can. Thank you for following the project David! Keep an eye out for the next video soon.
We will be upgrading the fuel system shortly to an in-tank fuel cell module from Holley. We can take some time in that video and go over the Jeep in more detail. Dan knows how much I like to talk about my Jeep lol!
Jeep mechanic for 40 years. The Weber carb replacement for the Carter VV carb or even the earlier BBD is a waste. The Weber is a vacuum secondary 2 brl. that doesn't open the secondary barrel until it is time to shift. These are low rpm motors. The biggest boost you can make is adapt the Motorcraft/autolite 2100 to this engine period! You will NOT believe the difference over that Weber.
The Weber we removed was a progressive rate 2 barrel, not a vacuum secondary. However the 2100 is a great option as well that I have gotten to play with on other Jeep projects. Either way the EFI has performed leaps and bounds better then both and continues to impress daily.
@@MaffettMotorwerks While my Motorcraft 2100 was a noticeable upgrade over the BBD, EFI will be a no-brainer. Carburetors in general are just too finicky in my climate/daily driver situation (read; my wife and teenager stall it too often!)

This right here is what I've been looking for. Currently installing this kit with the hyper spark ignition into my AMC Eagle.
My brother had an eagle for a little while, unfortunately the frame was pretty rotted and didn't last. God I loved that car!
That is badass! We would love to see pics!
@@MaffettMotorwerks yall on fb? I'll gladly send some pics and some videos of it running. This think is an animal.

Great video, can't wait to pick one up and install it on my 84 AMC Eagle Wagon. Cheers!
Thanks dude!

You won't regret the EFI! that is for sure
I have this same problem on my '86, thinking about doing this as well. Plus I live at 10k feet and the carb struggles big time
In the Holley video of them installing this on a CJ they had a intake plate under the TBI which is why you may not have the same clearance as they did
Thank for the awesome video.I need to do this for my 81 Cj5 AMC 258 for performance and smog in California.
Subscribed....like the CJ....I just gotbone and cant wait to wheel and put it on my channel.
Be sure to send us video when you do

Do we need hyper spark disb and ignition box for this efi ?
no you do not

It looks like you still have the charcoal filter. Is that still plumbed in with the EFI?
No not at all that is just for looks now.
Thanks for the video! need to do this work on my 1974 J10 258. Any idea who can help here in Georgia? Thanks
I don't know off hand down in Georgia but I can look around and see if any of our network have a shop out there.
What is yalls timing set at? We did the hyperspark and they have the timing set at 15°
What diff gears are you using and what transmission? Also, what are your highway speeds you can drive? Thanks
Gears - 4:56 trans t18. @65 it’s 3,000rpm and it sees highway driving a lot
Awesome video! How many hp adds in the stock 4.2 L engine??
can't really say as we have never Dynoed this project. But I can say the deference was noticable.
Any more updates on the 41 Ply.?

Can you use the supplied fuel lines and connect it to the factory metal fuel lines, to avoid running the rubber hose all the way?
As long as your factory metal lines are in good shape I'm sure you could. However the factory return line is probably to small.
Would this set up work for 1990 4.2l wrangler too?
@@germanlopez758 Holley definitely makes kits compatible with just about every application
Should have added a riser on that. Other that great job👍
What is the difference between the Sniper BBD and the Sniper 2300?
Motorcraft 2300 carb vs bbd carb different mounting flanges.
What did you guys use for a engine wiring harness? Know I can when I go to HEI to but what did you use
We used the factory harness that was in the Jeep combined with the extension harness and wiring with the sniper unit.
Do I need to connect any of the 10 Pin Connector - Mating Harness? Most are optional and I am not aftermarket tach ?
check manual
Can y’all make a video going over this cj7 build

Great video guys, where did you put the coolant temp sensor, want to get one of these kits for my CJ7 in the uk 👍
Temp sensor is in a port on the intake manifold

Why can’t you use the factory gas supply line?
My Jeep no longer has the factory fuel line. When we did the frame off a couple years ago I ran the metal lines different the factory.
I would love you to work on my jeep do the same thing you did to your jeep which state you in because I live in New York State
Hey! We highly recommend this install, We are located in Delaware.
Would the Holley Efi kit work on a 1977 Cj7 with the 304 V8?
I think they make a version of EFI for the V8
Am I the only one that noticed it's for Chrysler carb replacement not AMC? Chrysler never made a cj.
Did it improve your Miles per gallon?
Yea considerably
