In 1960 I was 15 years old. My two favorite nights were Friday and Saturday nights when my favorite programs came on TV. Grew up in Southern California. I had a difficult time growing up and TV was my escape from the problems I faced.

It doesn't matter what movie or if he's a god guy goodish probably bad Villan I am definitely a fan of Peter Lore. My favorite ones are with Vincent Price especially if Alfred Hitchcock Directed them. 😁👍.

Peter Lorre everyone's favorite slimy villain! He was a wonderful actor who played the first serial killer on film and in turn the Interpol detective, Mr. Moto. RIP Mr. Lorre.

Thank you Mr Lorre . You were under rated as an actor. You were great in the
    Mr. Moto series as well.

Every time I remember Peter was a guest on "Rawhide," it makes me want to write an Old West themed story with him as a (less evil) main character. Unfortunately I can't come up with anything original! There were sooo many westerns that it feels like I'm copying something. I still want to try, though.

Do it! It's probably just the feel of the formula/trope that looms over us. Let it loom. Besides, Peter deserves a chance to play in a Western in the 1940s. Or a musical Western. :)

What could've been, yes. While this one remains impressive, a stand out performance for Lorre when they were dwindling. I just watched for the first time. Waytago Rawhide!

Even Shakespeare claimed there are only a half dozen plots. All stories are variations on a theme. That's why we are so impressed when something new and different comes along and we give them Oscars.

As a retired educator whose mom was also one and a writer as well, I want you to write as well. You can do this! Research your own ideas and brainstorm with close family and friends who care. Then proceed to create and flesh out your characters.

      Hi
He was so great in Rawhide.Hard bitten but honest and fair. I think Clint Eastwood ( Rowdy Yates)
took over his screen persona to launch his own film career soon after Eric had his untimely death in South America!

Rawhide was a very popular western series in the UK in the 1960's. Shown on ITV.

At 41 years old Eric Fleming was making a film in Peru when his canoe overturned in a river.
Fleming was swept away by the strong current. His body was found weeks later
pummeled by rocks in the river and ravaged by Piranha.

That is incorrect that Erick Fleming was 21 years old when he died. He was 41 years old. However, the circumstances in which he died are correct. 😢

This episode from Rawhide was a serious part for guest-star, Lisa Gaye, who plays Peter Lorre's daughter. Like the rest of the prisoners on her father's estate, she too is kept prisoner with little or no life outside of her house. John Agar works errands for her father and it is his love for Lisa that keeps her from going insane. Lorre's evil character is eventually brought to book and the end offers promise, hope and happiness for Lisa and John plus total freedom for the prisoners. I was hoping that this episode would be colorized eventually, but seems all hope is lost.
