I can hardly believe it! Thanks Nevada Jane for my all time favorite cowboy, Rocky Lane...I had all his on a special time limited DVD special set and watched them over & over, then finally gave them to a retired, lady who loved his movies as much as I. She wrote me back and was ecstatic...NOW we have them on TH-cam...I'll spread the word, about Rocky... and Hopalong Cassidy. Wow! wally
@@robertnielsen2461 Thanks for comment. I liked them too but even at 7-8 years old I did not care for the shooting guns out of peoples hands and they always had to have a crazy, too goofy of a sidekick. It may have been that since 5 years old, learning to read well before 1st grade, I read all the good writers of westerns as Zane Grey, Max Brand, Luke Short and Louis L'Amour, etc. Before 12 years old I read 4-5 books a week so maybe I caught the silly childish stuff when some kids were playing with toys, etc. Thanks for recalling 2 of the biggest cowboys that were great for young kids. Almost 70 years later and I watch Gunsmoke and even catch some Rocky Lanes when I find them...he was different than the singing cowboys and Gabby Hayes.
@@robertskipcurran8401 ...I'd like very much to go back to the middle/late 1940's, 50's and some of 60's were not so bad, until the powers that be, turning so evil, began killing one great president in '63, then RFK and Martin Luther King. That, along with a century of nearly all warmongering presidents, spending trillions and high school children cannot read as well as I did when I was in 1st grade, etc. I will be gone before long but care for the ones I love, for we are headed for hell on earth soon (2021 now as I write this.) Best to you Sir. w
Excellent quality, good script, in fact, a very good film, now 70 years' old. Pity the actors could never know.that the film would be appreciated so far in the future.
Thank you ane! I see nearly 500,000 views on this film of Rocky Lanes. That is great to know many have fine taste yet. I watched these for less than 25 cents on saturday matinee's in the early 1950's! Rocky was a bit more mature in some ways than the usually (then) westerns with men who were like kids wearing six guns. But it is all good...and clean stuff.
The breed of Rocky Lanes horse is a Morgan horse. It's real name is Blackman Allen but is also known as "Black Jack" a true Morgan movie star. Ridden by Rocky Lane in 30 of the Red Ryder movies. Love seeing this Morgan in all of these movies. Yes, that is my Morgan I'm riding in my profile picture. :)
I do enjoy his movies, but hate his directors. They had many of his fist fights last silly long. My favorite western series was "The Durango Kid"- he usually concluded a fight with 2-3 punches. Plus, Rocky rode a horse the hollywood way- with both hands fisted on the reins up at his sternum. In all my years a'horseback, in S. Texas, I never saw anyone do that.

Rocy Lane representava o bem, a justiça.
Some top stunts by ace stuntman Tom Steele who doubled for many stars including Roy Rogers, George Montgomery, Bill Elliot, James Arness, Clayton Moore, Rex Allen, Rod Cameron &, of course, Allen (Rocky) Lane.
Did you notice when he was used to jump off the horse he was riding to take Fox off his horse he was wearing a lighter shirt than Rocky was wearing? Hollywood makes a lot of goofs and don't seem to care.
Jeff Clarke Tom Steele was one of the best. He often teamed with Dale Van Sickel to great effect. Their fight scenes in the Republic serials were the inevitable highlight in each episode.
The buzzards had plenty of food laying around in those days, eh! Just leave the bodies lay around after you shoot them, toss the guns when you are empty, leave the canteens when they are empty, etc. (and apparently nobody misses you after you are shot) along with good pianists - but they sure needed a piano tuner out west!
azize? Me too Sir. That was 69 years ago I first saw Rocky Lane and he became my favorite. He acted a little more adult than most of the old time cowboys...but it is all good, clean stuff about right & wrong.
No decorrer do aprendizado e do tempo era difícil me segurar.
Hank Patterson (in here) and Glenn Strange were 2 of my very favorites...they both (as well as Myron Healey, Lane Adams, Roy Barcroft...and Rocky himself) were in many Gunsmokes from 1955 and on, some quite regular. Rocky Lane made last big screen movie in 1953...was then on many TV westerns, ended up as voice of "Mr ED," the talking horse from 1960-1966...Sadly he died in 1973 at 63 or 64 only from cancer. I wanted Rocky to be Matt Dillons serious deputy when Dennis Weaver left in 1965...instead of that "attempted" comedy moron festus coming on and ruining Gunsmoke. I surely am glad we have Rocky and Hoppy, Johnny Mack Brown, etc, on by NEVADA JANE !.

"as much as I" Sigh. It's rare to see what I remember as correct grammar. But, alas, so very much has gone downhill over the long decades.
Don't forget Gene Autry or Roy Rogers.

The horse Black Jack should have won an Oscar for his part in this film.

Good western, has all of the needed parts for an hour of entertainment.
Too bad Hollywood couldn’t make movies like this again!
No cussing and swearing, no sex or nudity.

Dangerous job without the fame hassle
That stare from Rory Mallinson (Fox) reminds me of Gary Cooper.
He reminds me of Randolph Scott
