- Motorcycling around Wales on the 'Llandovery North Loop' is a sight to be hold, slicing through the Cambrian Mountains weaving through twisty narrow roads, across streams & rivers. I'm here in southern Wales on a 2 day tour, this 1st vid is the 'Llandovery North Loop with a added twist, I've added 'The Devils Staircase', so more exciting twisties to indulge in making this route a 80 mile 3 hour trip.

Nice video again. It's a great place to ride around that area. Look forward to the next one
Thanks for your comment & yes up & down the whole of Wales, such a discovery of all the elements you could ever wish for when touring. Daz 👍
The UK has so much to offer. Great video. 👍 Ride safe, LJ
Thanks LJ, especially Wales, a bikers paradise especially when the sun shines 👍
I've done that route many times both ways it never gets boring 😊 fly my drone on many a trip 👍
It is beautiful, I guess with you riding regularly you get to see the change in colours through the seasons! Awesome! 👍
Great scenery good roads looks like fun
It's a go back to loop to be honest, the scenery would look different in the summer too & I wouldn't be surprised to see more adventure seeking motorcyclists 👍
Hello Daz,
Great to meet you at Triumph yesterday. Look forward to catching up with your other videos. Excellent.
Hi Chris, great thanks for getting in touch & liking the vid's, you are easily pleased 🤣. Yes I enjoyed Rob's history of Triumph presentation. I'm always up for a ride out...hope to see you on the 'Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride Tour? Daz 👍
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Hi Darren, not sure if we have any mutual contacts, i will do some digging and get my email address / phone number too you if thats ok?
Very nice video, great scenery, clear roads. What more could you want. 😊
A ride for my top 10 👍,thanks for your comment Ally 👍
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips No problem, you beat the snow as well. 👍
@@allyb3477 Yes timed that short break well. Unfortunately I got caught on the way back from Northampton yesterday taking the GS in for a big service. So was on the motorway, in the dark, rush hour, snow, rain, ice on visor & 1 degree, I don't know what the wind chill would have been at 70mph 🥶. Was the worst bike ride ever. But yes Wales last week I was lucky 👍. Thanks for your comment Ali. Daz.
Looks fantastic. I must give that a go.
Fully recommend that one Philip, the Owls Nest in Llandovery is good for replenishment at the end of the run too 👍
Well edited. What a graceful dive from Ken 😂
Thanks Jamie, makes it worth while when someone compliments the editing, I'm a novice so just trying to make it interesting & pass some great routes onto the motorcycling community. Yes Ken is steady but does make progress 😁👍
Jamie I just realised what you meant lol, I thought it was a typo referring to Kens graceful 'dive', I thought u meant graceful 'drive' 😁. So yes I'd give Ken a 9/10 for that 😆 I think that'll make the bloopers reel 👍
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips lol I was wondering that you meant too. That's a great route and we'll all do it again when it's warmer with some more drone footage
love the vid daz, must give that route a try
Thanks Troopz, you'll certainly have a smile on your face, some good narrow lane twisties 👍
Tried to get this route in last year before weather turned..but caught COVID and that was it for me....gonna give it another go in a few weeks and get in the Devils Staircase...all on my Harley. :) **Subbed.
Thanks for subbing Max. That must have been frustrating preventing your visit. At least you are fit now to go & u won't be dissapointed. Again, weather makes it more pleasurable so try find a window of preferably weather. I really enjoyed that section from Tregaron via 'The Devils Staircase" to Llandovery. Narrow lanes you can see well in the distance, twisty with undulations too make it a great run. Let me know what you think Jer when you finally get to do it. Dont forget the bikers cafe in Llandovery at the end of your run bud 👍. Daz.
that is a nice loop, "the jeeps" were turning on to the infamous trail known as "Strata Florida" doable on a GS if your a bit willing, a search of youtube will easily find it, you may even see my GS on it playing bumper-bikes with a 701. Ken is doing a good job but if you ever need any alternatives perhaps a little more off the well troden routes my GS knows its way around a lot of Wales especially the Southern half, keep on the good lines.
Arh right ok, I wondered where they were going? I've seen Vanessa Ruck tackle the 'Strata Florida', certainly looks a challenge 🤔. Will definitely make a mental note of your offer for some alternative routes in future. I might need to get a bit more experience off roading on the mighty GS! Did some in Spain but not technically comparable to Wales really. You can keep in touch (follow me) via my FB too regarding communicating & hooking up to do some touring 👍. Cheers, Daz.
Telling Ken to fork off is a bit strong ;-)
🤣🤣 yeah I chuckled at that bit
I've been told worse.
@@kengsadventure1806 Ken, thanks again for hooking up for the Llandovery Loop. Thats a go back to ride 👍🙂
You didn,t actually show descending `The Devils Staircase ` ?
I'll definitely be going to this great biking destination again, I'll certainly be riding this route again so hopefully I'll get the decent bit recorded next time 👍.
Is there any chance you can send me the route you done please
Private message me on my FB dazmatron motorcycle trips Steve. I've had a couple of problems getting the gpx but have it now.
Not knocking it but I personally wouldn't bother with the Devils Staircase, it's OK, but only that, nothing special, two or three hairpins and thats it.
@joebloggs1317 I bolted it onto the Llandovery Loop which is a great ride. So I'd recommend doing The Devils Sraircase as part of that route 👍
i supose if you dont live in wales then its fun to do but when you do it all the time it gets boring
@@archiemillington306 my friend lives in South Wales, he's either out on his GSA on or off road or his dirt bike off roadie, he loves it but I guess I can understand what you saying a bit like too much of a good thing?
i went to the Alpes a few times....
but they are closer to Wales...i prefer to drive in Europe, i dont go to foreign countries!
Europe has a vast amount of roads to ride & places to visit, you are in a good place to be able to choose where to go Arl, I'm very jealous! Of course only if you happen to be in the UK I'd suggest visiting Wales to ride some of the stunning roads & mountains there, but I get your point. Ride safe my friend, thanks for watching & commenting, Daz.
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips i went to South England, North England with Lake District and Scotland, i will revisit Scotland after they left the UK and rejoined the EU, because i dont want to take my passport with me again... the ID card i never showed is enough for me!
did i mentioned i drove 5 weeks thru New Zealand!
@@Arltratlo Arh ok so you are familiar with some of the UK, it sounds like you have been to some of thd best places 👍. Wow 5 weeks in NZ, that must have been awesome, which bike did you hire/ride?
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips i own a Suzi V-Strom 650, and i also hired the same in NZ, less as half the price of a BMW and a 3rd of a HD, i would never touch a HD... where i drive, there are no HDs!
I think I'll be looking at another fly/ride holidays in future. The last one I did & can recommend was in Gran Canary on the Ducati Multistrada 950, another great destination to tour, fully recommend that place Arl. I posted 4 video's of that trip, check them out. Daz
