- Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Empress is quite an extravagant experience.
Victoria, BC is known for it's many tea houses and shops, but afternoon tea or high tea at the Fairmont Empress is the best. In this video, I go over the entire Afternoon/ High Tea experience to show you what it is like.

Victoria is a beautiful city, especially along the waterfront! The Fairmont Empress and the Parliament Buildings are such great architectural masterpieces. I remember growing up in Seattle in the 70's and taking the steamship 'Princess Marguerite' to Victoria for the day. After touring the Parliament Buildings and the Royal BC Museum (known then as the Provincial Museum) and riding the Double Decker buses, the highlight was having Afternoon Tea & Crumpets in the elegant Empress Lobby. Back then it was $3.50 CDN for a four-course tea menu! My how things have changed. But Victoria appears as charming as ever.

Love your video! It takes a lot of 'courage/guts/ to pack up and go like you are doing! You are my hero!!! hahahaha. I do a bit of traveling myself but mostly as a 'seasonal' employee on a cruise ship. We haven't been sailing for the past year (as you know) and so it's great seeing your adventures! Victoria is one of my favorite stops on our Alaskan cruises and the high tea is instead a wonderful experience. I have subbed and will continue watching your adventures. Just stumbled across your channel through Sean Tucker's video and was so happy to see that you made some videos about Victoria BC! I used to live there and I have a vivid memory of going to some sort of hotel as a small child with my parents around Christmas time for a wonderful display of Christmas trees but had no idea where it was. But thanks to your video I now know that it was in this Fairmont Empress and it is so wonderful to see it again! Truly a beautiful hotel! Great video!

That reminds of when I lived in Toronto and would go for afternoon tea at the King Edward and Royal York hotels every now and then. You are right that it's expensive, but a great way to celebrate a special occasion, even if you're not loaded. Nice video:)

My wife loves afternoon tea. We've done some small tea parlors in around the southeastern US but haven't gotten to one in a big hotel yet. We've put out a couple of videos about our smaller tea room experiences. If we ever get to British Columbia we'll put this one on our list!

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel! That room is on the ground floor so I think you can get there from the lobby, and there might have been a small ramp along part of it. It's hard to remember exactly, so it would be best to check with the hotel to confirm that. It was definitely a fun experience. Thank you for watching :)
