    I'm glad you posted this. I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out where I can do a 60-130 mph safely and without getting arrested. 40-100 is much more doable.

    Nice vid. thank you for doing this type of testing. There is very little info on the web on the performance gains of the jb4 with this platform. I believe to see any difference with the map4 or above, you need to have the EWG harness hooked up. What's happening with your testing is that map3 basically maxes out the stock wastegate and if you want to run more boost on those other maps, the EWG is needed to keep the wastegate from opening up prematurely.

      Thanks man! Yeah, it's totally worth getting the EWG. Actually, I think that now they include it with the JB4, already wired in. Wiring it in was super easy, and the connector was pretty cheap.

    Idk if I agree with what your saying about jb4 being safer then a tune. It’s not really true. Your ecu records all this data. Second they look at see your car ran 1 lb more boost they can void your warranty. Then can track your mile per hour and time it takes. Your 0-60 anything like that is being recorded. It’s VERY. Easy for them to tell you messed with the car and void the warranty with jb4

    You just need a bench flash. I have a 2021 that’s bench flashed and I’m going to use my Ecutek when my ecu arrives this Monday. Give Speed industry a call.

      I wish that was the case, but it is not. Bosch changed the security on all ECUs with a manufacture date after 6/1/20 and no one has been able to unlock one yet. The first that does will be overwhelmed with work!

      @@spiguyversgarage9452 yeah you must have an newer 2021 but mine needed to to be bench unlocked. Bootmod3 didn’t work for me waiting for my email tune today and then I’ll get the tune. I hear it’ll be before summer that it will be unlocked

    Great video and very well explained. I've had JB4 on my 22 supra for a week and im running Map3 on 93 with a catless downpipe and the car feels way faster and pulls strong. How long did you run Map 3 and am i really putting my turbo at risk on that map?

      To be fair they’re pretty easy to sell so maybe look for used,I thought the same thing by here i am months later. Then again I was the first person to find out they were kinda hosed

    Great vid, have had JB4 on my redsport for over 2 years with downpipe intakes and catback and no issues whatsoever. Will most likely trade the car in for the supra soon, just skeptical on the '21 models with the oil consumption and cylinder scoring issues. How's yours been so far?

    So with jb4
    I should log map 1 with my car and send it to who? Then get the log back and load it in? Then onto log 2 or how does this work ?

    Jesse has me at 5.62s 40-100 on map6 with a few more tweaks to go. Unfortunately it's spinning badly from 40-60ish soni don't know whether it's a false reading or will improve with traction.

      Gotcha, that's good, I'm just about the same numbers at Map 5, I am also spinning a little. Will be getting some wider tires (305's) on the back, that should help that!

    Do you have a have anything else on the car like downpipe, intake or exhaust? I just installed the jb4 on my a91 and hoping to run 11.5 soon.

    I have tried the 40-100 on my '21 bone stock and got 6.174 using the TRC application.

      What is the TRC application? None of the other timers re very accurate from what I’ve seen, the Draggy is the standard really.

      @@spiguyversgarage9452 Its "That Racing Channel" application. Has great flexibility in all Dig & roll acceleration Tests. Pretty Consistant and free for some one who cant afford the draggy. BTW thank you for the JB4 installation Video. It seems that its our only solution till they figure how to unlock our ECU.

    Hello. I have 2021 Toyota Supra primium( lock ECU)
    I just installed JB 4. I currently run everything a stock OEM accept the HKS filter still OEM intake box. My question is, on 91 octane- should I run map 1 or map 2? Do you know how much more boost am I currently on map 1 or map 2? How can I increase more power? Will the MST intake help? I am very new at this totally new Please help

      I believe Map 1 is 3 psi over, Map 2 is 4 psi over, but for Map 3 you need to be at 93 octane. You can do some Eblends to get to E30 and run all the way up to Map 5!

      I recently installed a EWG cable and I put 30% up of E85 so basically it's E30 and a run map 4 which is I talked to Ando at Burger Motorsport and he told me to run Map 4 with E30 because it is a target map which is 20 PSI. In my area I don't have a place to do a dyno so I can't see exactly what horsepowers I'm running so I'm really bummed at that. Anyway do you know or do you have any idea if I'm running map 4 target at 20 PSI over stock what horsepower am I looking at at the E30?

    Hi there. I just installed a JB4 in my Supra. What is the process of going about and getting logs? I’ve never done that before and not sure what to do. Thanks for any pointers you can give me.

      Depends on what you are getting logs for. I know you asked this a while back and you may have gotten an answer already, but I wanted to follow up. Before you start a wide open throttle pull just hit start logging, and then do it! Once finished it'll be recorded, then you can email it to yourself, download it and then send it in on the N54tech forums.

      With the temperatures being as cool as they've been, 0-60 is near impossible due to lack of traction.

    I think map 4 and 5 gives more boost on top end over 100

      If the goal was just power, sure. But I really do enjoy this car and love the color. Someone will crack this fully soon enough, until then over 450 wheel hp isn’t too bad!

    How many horses did you say are on the rear wheels? I remember back in 98 my buddy had an M3 that was dyno and all that and it was like 300 if that. That car was so BA too. Can't even imagine now.

    Hello there sir. I have a question for you so the same thing I did map5 with e35 blend almost E40 and I sent it to Steve can I ask him why is almost still the same as map 3 he just can't give me a clear answer. Now you saying your tuner is tweaking up a little bit on map five can you tell me what is that tweet what did you change on the settings? Do you have to change the throttle positions percentage? Or what about FF ? Can you give me a peek on that?

      So now that I have my downpipe installed, we are working on Map 6 and doing custom tuning. We are messing with the duty bias, the fuel flow, and the boost settings at different rpm settings to try to keep traction while getting the most out of it.

      I will as soon as the weather is good enough I can get out and do that. The next 2 weeks we are looking at ice, snow and highs in the 20's and lower. Gonna be a bit!

    what about the control of pop and bangs? is it too much on map 3-4-5? can you adjust it?

      The pops and bangs don't really change. You need something like Ecutek to tune the pops and bangs.

    If you don’t have a catless dp you won’t be at 450whp. Not sure with e40 but just a jb4 and intake ain’t getting those numbers.

      No, it's been cold enough that I am getting zero traction through 1st and 2nd, my 0-60 and 1/4 would be suboptimal right now. But when it warms up, it'll be on!

      E30 is what a lot of people end up going with, I have gone as high as E50 and it's great. To stay accurate you'll either have to alternate one tank with and one to two without e, or invest in a fuel sensor, like the Fuel-it. About 3.25 gallons of E85 (if it's pure E85), with the rest non E fuel, will yield an E30 blend.

      Nothing new in a while. Waiting on the DP to come in so that I can get it fine tuned with that. I have considered WMI, but I think if I do it will be port injection rather than throttle body or charge pipe, that will clean the intake side and prevent the standard direct injection carbon buildup.

      So you need to be sure you know what e blend you're running. I recommend getting a sensor like the Fuel-it. Then you can run the maps that call for e30+ or get a custom map created by working with someone like Jesse.

    Don't use map 3 people have blown their turbos. I ran map 3 for a while but I think I'm not sure that because I was running e30 (e40 is just not good on stock ecu), I didn't blow it. Now I run a custom map 6 it's not as bad and jittery as map 3 and it's far smoother. Mid range throttle is smooth but at full throttle the turbos kick in harder and it pulls better and more smoothly depending on the engine rpm to have the best psi for the rpm given which taxes the engine less and is smoother. Map 3 just adds 6psi to whatever engine rpm and psi you are and can blow your turbo like it has too many people

      I ran Map 3 for quite a while before switching over to the custom one that Jesse built for me. I know many have had issues, but I think it's hit or miss.

While map 3 on e30 felt like it was pulling hard, it was also highly inconsistent and you could feel it taxing the engine because it was putting like 6psi over whatever the ecu was requesting. On my custom map I control the fuel and duty bias, wastegate and other things etc, and have set a 1st and 2nd gear boost drop so now I never have wheel spin, and also, based on the rpm, you have different boost levels. Between like 5000-6000 rpm is peak boost (this is not accurate I haven't checked my settings but it's in this range), and it drops off after That, but I get consistent 20.5 psi peak boost without taxing the engine hard since it builds up to that level perfectly depending on rpm, and the end result actually feels far more faster and pulls harder than map 3 while the engine feels like it's begging for more vs map 3 where it's breaking apart.

      Go onto N54tech.com and you'll find the forum for posting your logs on there. That's the easiest. Or you can work with someone who specializes in custom tuning the JB4 to your car, like I do.

    Have you had this issue by any chance? Recently I installed JB4 on my 2021 Supra, in a couple occasions at start up my car it won’t accelerate or it will accelerate very slowly until it reaches 3,000 rpm, also the muffler flap at one of those time wasn’t opening not even in sport mode.
