Update at the end. I purchased my Ovia on January 16 last year and unboxed it two months later! The weather was cold, and I was not hurrying to open it. The reason? A bit of fear. I was 78 years old at the time. Was I crazy for buying an e-bike? I rode the bike on the last day of the year, and the odometer read 1627 miles. The Ovia performed well. I had some trouble with the horn and light, with the problem being the controller. I wouldn't say I like the sound of the horn and use it sparingly. I added a bell, and it works like a charm. I ring it about thirty feet from those I need to pass, and automatically, people move further to the side. I ride the bike in America. Virginia has hundreds of miles of beautiful bike paths. In June, I will turn 80 years old. I do have COPD with only 30 percent of my lungs, and I tell you this to encourage you to get an e-bike even if you are limited in some way. There are many e-bikes, and you roll the dice in picking a company that is there when you need them. Happy New Year. My Ovia is fire engine Red, and I can't tell you the comments I get...Nice bike, mister, is most common! UPDATE - I put on 4,047 miles or over 6,000 kilometers. It is Dec 2024, and I am now 80 years old. I purchased a Kommoda 2.0 in late November but haven't ridden it yet. It's cold. Here in the States, we don't have a throttle problem.
Great video pal, i have a Cyrusher Ranger & absolutlely love it, i did purchase & fit the large headlight after id had the bike a while, but i did get a lot of unpleasant stares from the public with 1 person shouting..GET OFF THAT MOTORBIKE..once that happened i swapped back to the stock front light that came with the bike. I still get stares but they more are of a pleasing nature. The UK needs to embrace ebikes more, they will be around to stay just like any other form of transport, they are just 'new' for a lot of people.to accept. I got the ebike because of illness, i needed to do more exercise & this ebike has been a god send as there was no way i can walk or ride bikes where i live, its just too hilly..Thanks for the video, keep em coming 👍👍👍
I turned 73 last January, not been on a cycle for over 30 years or more. I just bought the Cyrusher Ovia, Every old person should get one, ITS FANTASTIC, great fun , this bike is not for the younger only. I changed some of the settings to suit me. Well done Cyrusher.
Thought you were training for the "great escape" wire jump there, just a thought, how heavy/hard is it to ride with no power? I'm sure you would drain the battery at least once. And drop that Y, it sounds better as "The Crusher"
@@BigVanSmallWorld I mean would it wear away if tightened over time as others like it do with screwdrivers but the normal bolts don't when using a spanner
Next time better you may have to adjust your headlight properly (it was looking upwards a bit), otherwise blinding the oncoming traffic will not make you any new friends. How much lumen does its light produce anyways?
Looks nice bike so Rebecca's having other bike you test Mel and we I like the way Rebecca laughed when your crash test that bike p.s keep up good work guys
Mel I won’t one! The e-bike looks fantastic love the fat tyres. A professional golfer of 25 years I can imagine the head green keeper and members loved your visit riding all over the teeing off area and the spectacular marks from your crash landing😂 Great vid and review Mel still laughing at the gossip that’s going on in clubhouse after your visit.
As I understand it the restrictions only apply during the sale, as soon as it's yours you can do what you like to it. Check for yourself though, I may be wrong. Older bikes weren't restricted, if you want something guaranteed to be ok get a 2nd hand one. (Check the date of when the restrictions came in). The one that does for me is the pedalling, I've got a bad hip & can't pedal further than the end of the road & back. I need the throttle.
Rubbish.... The restrictions apply as soon as you ride it. 15mph is the legal limit in the uk. If you de restrict it and you have a crash and injure someone the police will find out its been de restricted and you could end up in court. If your only going to ride off road though and transport the bike to where your off roading then that's no problem. You can ride it de restricted
#waffelonawednesday When I last commented saying "I would like to see you out in your van more" didn't want you going out doing yourself an injury, when I saw the thumb nail of you falling was thinking oh no. Also noticed becky didn't move to check you was alright haha Good video though, Looking forward to your next adventure
Now that you've rode it unrestricted you can see why they don't include the Allen key to open the hub up, that way they're covered, there's no way you can't deny gaining access was wholly your doing, and you didn't have the throttle put on the bike
Great bike and great review bud. I really hope your ok that’s looked nasty when your crashed :( hope your ok because my manger crashed his trek e bike off roading and broke his arm :( big hugs to you bud 😊
I bought a brand new other make Road legal and registered on the road for a £1000 less , its classed as the equivalent of a 50cc moped and restricted to 28mph same as moped law in the UK , I can't find a way to get it to go any faster lol
I hope you didn't get hurt Mel, a fall can hurt later on...I'm thinking more about your back. Becky is the same height as my wife, although You're a few inches taller than me 😆 Good show again you two 👍🚐👊🚲
A lovely bike but what's the point in all that cool design and expense when you can't go more than 15mph? It's like investing in a Mercedes and being limited to 45 mph. There will be occasions when normal cyclists will pass you out. Had the speed limit being increased to 20 mph then there would be no problems. But I think the law is trying to discourage people from using bikes instead of cars despite their rhetoric to the opposite.

Hi had the same height issue, so I cut a few inches of the bottom of the saddle stem and it dropped low enough for a short rider 👍.
Oh nice one Bob I was thinking about doing that so Becky could ride the Ovia 🍻🍻🍻
So glad you left that in sorry it was funny . I have heard Rumours Tom Cruise is looking for a new stuntman . 😊

Loving that crash landing!! The grass damage was awesome and give all those rude golfers we bumped into a taste of their own medicine…ha ha! 😂
It fly’s but it just doesn’t land very well with Mel in charge
Hahah 👍
Aww we’ve just been over to see you, but there’s always someone else there before us.
Hope you’ve had a great time.
We’re staying tonight as well 👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld us too. It’s too nice to drive away 😀
Thanks for the video just ordered my Ovia and using your code got £80 off so thanks again
Glad to hear 👍🤓👍
Great stuff Mel . Take care .
Would the unique nut on the front wheel wear away when tightening than a normal nut that's what worries me from getting one
Not really that special so no worries 👍

Do you have dual motors on Ovia with 1000W motors longer range?
No it’s not the Motor is on the rear hub 👍

Don't forget to put the plastic jobby in when you take off the front wheel👍
Would it fit on a Thule tow ball bike rack?
It maybe to heavy
Superb video folks
You could build a slide out to fit your new bike that’s if you have enough room

Be able to open your own bike shop soon, can you fit this one the himinway in the van? 😅😅
Yes 👍
Excellent review. Can i ask, when you unplugged the wire to derestrict it, do you also need to fit the throttle. Awesome looking bike this :-),
No need to add the throttle so can be done with out any issues it’s a great bike extremely comfortable too 👍🤓👍
Cheers 4 that, god im dead tempted. What about service on these Chinese bikes, are thrte local uk service centre's for Chinese ebikes,?
Do you ever sell any of your ebikes? Would be interested in purchasing Ovia so please let me know. Thanks
no i dont sell them they go back to the company's that supply them for the videos i make
Nice to see you with a crash hat think safe good on you mell
Lol. Nice one Evil. It would be great in mud and snow with the tyres let down a bit. How much does it weigh Mel?
Thanks it’s around 30k
Would love to see it modified in a cafe racer style or a chopper
21:23 that's my favourite bit 😅
Omg! I got such a fright at the start, seeing you crash! Glad you're ok. Getting up and laughing about it, is a good sign. 😅

And where do you think the parts for your UK bike are made 🙄
exactly we don't make anything in the uk...its just assembled and tagged as British@@BigVanSmallWorld
