    i feel like defending against "behind the net spinners" is very inconsistent. its basically 50/50 if your ai will cover the players it should and sometimes they wont intercept passes that lead to tap in goals. so eventually no matter how well you defend they will get couple cheap goals on you and it might be enough for them to win

      Of course people will get those through every now and then, you’re bound to make a mistake or just be a victim to a bad puck bounce. Even with that, I still think those players are so easy to stop if you have patience.

    I’ve noticed over the last week or so that I’m not doing well on defense so watching this was really helpful. I am hoping to watch this video a lot over the future when I need my reminders and to help me zone in. I will be applying these tips to my game instantly!

    Thanks for the win streak Keso! Now I understand why I would lose with more shots and possession time. It was immediately useful in div 4 and shortly if I stay disciplined I will soon find out how it works in div 3.     Hey Keso, I've understood (from C&C) that you have had some struggles creating content. Your videos are perfect examples of quality over quantity and without giving any names this is not always the case with other content creators! There is clearly a gap where you fit in (if you want to be there) and that is teaching to top 3% of the field. Not saying that I'm in there but maybe after these tips I will be :D. These tips actually apply everywhere across sport boundaries. I could probably teach my son to defend better in soccer after showing this video.:D

    I learned something and im in d1. im a pretty elite defender and i instinctualy favor forehand but after what youve shown ill now do it conciously . Thanks for the video. This year no money spent just aiming for fun

    When or how often do you click the right stick while poke checking? When you shoot that simple point shot do you hold a button to get the tip animation?

    Great video man but all I can think about is how awful player switching is. Like I know how to play defense but I just have so much difficulty switching to the player I want and when I don't it's a glitch goal against every time in d1/2. This year's game is rough lol.

    so what i see is that rule of thumb is cover the forecheck side and on breakaways keep that steady gap to allow ease any mistake from your end.

      Exactly. Ultimate bend don’t break. Take calculated risks. Force your opponent to go where you have coverage

    Whats the best way to clear the puck out of your zone once you force a turnover? When I try to pass quick or swing behind the boards it gets picked off and when I try to skate i get poked or lit up

      Manual player switching, hold on R2 (or RT on Xbox) and flick your RS in the direction of the player you want to get to

    Anyone else loose like 17/20 of your last games? Like game play just sucks. Like I can’t find a goalie who can make more than 3 saves in a row and it’s impossible to pick the puck up in my defensive zone. Yet if I don’t skate the puck in on the offensive zone I don’t get a single bounce and forcheck or trap no matter what they walk right down

      Try 85 Markstrom. He has been solid both in my team and when playing against him. Not too expensive either. Could be your solution.

      Need the same thing. I've never had so much problem with the manual player switching as this year, last year was not great either, but this year it feels like I can't get the player I want, almost ever. Don't remember having these issues back in '20.

      I’ll post something, the caveat is I think it’s buggy this year. There are times when a loose puck occurs and you can’t player switch until another player picks the puck up.

    Any tips on how to cope when you have a no money team against teams who very clearly have money pumped in, so pokes and loose pucks are very difficult to corrale?

      I have a no money spent team too, I think you just have to realize there are some games where bounces won't go your way. Thinking about putting together a video to show the optimal strategy when you are outmatched though and what would go in to it. I think this defensive video covers the defensive aspect of that though

I see a lot of people like I wanna say gliding when they do bavk hand forehand on breakaways as well I’d jus like to learn more things not many you tubers r posting good enough tutorial videos

    I just got beaten from 1:0 from guy,who did not give me puck,but otherwise crap. I feels like static idiot there.     No matter how sweaty I play my opponent is always faster, can poke every puck, and can just skate near me and he automatically steals the puck. It makes no sense even when the other team in HUT is a lower overall. I can’t stand chel this year it’s driving me insane. I don’t spend any money and will continue to never buy any packs on this shit game…

    how do you defend against 40 cross creases a period...... its still a 75% chance goal, so 30 attempts is roughly 10 goals and when all ive seen in the first 2 weeks is cross crease after cc after cc. spin spin spin sits bhind the net and wraps..... and i literally mean 40 attempts a period.... and every game is sweaty cause if i score a decent goal they tie it with a cc then go up via cross crease
