So my husband and I saw this video when it came out almost a year ago and decided to try the Pho Binh by Night in Houston. We live almost 7 hours from Houston, but we were going for our 1st wedding anniversary in May. What should have been a 7 hour trip turned into a 13 hour trip because my car broke down half way there, we were stuck a mechanic's for hours in no-where Louisiana and ended up getting the last available rental car out of there. We were exhausted, but determined to have our first meal in Houston at Pho Binh. We got there with like an hour left before they closed at like 2 AM (bless them for staying open late) and once we sat down, my husband recognized the owner. He got the owner's attention who was SO nice to us. After hearing about our struggle to get there, he was really humbled to learn that we wanted his restaurant to be our first food from Houston. He gave a TON of free food and was so welcoming. We literally couldn't eat it all! It was amazing, though, so, so good. I hope we get to visit again soon! Thanks, Buzzfeed, for the tip and to Pho Binh, can't wait to come again!
I remember watching an old Buzzfeed video of Steven trying to make friends and now he’s just flourishing and has such a great outgoing personality. The character development we all need!
I know! I remember watching that video and now look at him! I'm so proud - started his own freaking BuzzFeed series that is massively popular and everyone wants to be his friend now and he gets to travel the world. Just so proud 😭😭
DTMT 527 My mom lives in Houston and there’s literally no traditional pho restaurant. My mom search everywhere for it. Looks like I’m gonna tell mom lol.
DTMT527 I know the last one UGH!!!!! They messed EVERYTHING UP LIKE WHAT THE HELL AS A VIETNAMESE IM offended he might be Vietnamese but that is NOT TRUE PHO.
A reasonable high priced dish. I'm impressed. They didn't throw in black truffles, caviar, and gold to push the price up a few hundred bucks for no real reason. One really good luxury ingredient, some really good technique, and a lot of time. Something actually worth its price.
Hahaha, some of us live and work in the States where we don't even get vacation, much less decent pay. No flying to Vietnam. But maybe a couple days in a different city, save money on a cheap hotel, and have one really good meal--that seems doable. ;-)
The first guy is so sweet, he reminds me of my fiance. Super shy and humble, you can tell he has a hard time looking Andrew and Steven in the eye. But he knows his craft, a total cooking champ and he's a big teddy bear around his wife. He just looks like the best person.
I realise I have started to treat Worth it like its worth it. Too precious to just watch whenever. I make sure I am seated well, all comfortable, have my food beside me, and then I press play. You have my undivided attention. I treat you like a movie in the cinemas.

asgure after hanging with Steven all the time, who can blame him? But it seems like his negativity is rubbing off on Steven. Steven doesn't seem as happy as he used to be, or it seems a bit more forced in this episode.
I like how Stephan stops eating and explains in depth the flavor of the pho while Andrew gives short responses like "yeah" or "great" and continues to chow down😂 not all the time but it's noticeable
The one ingredient that will make your pho extra amazing that most people don't know about is actually something that some Vietnamese restaurants use only for their chicken pho, it's kefir lime leaves! You take one kefir lime leaf and slice it into strips as thin has a strand of hair and just add that to your pho. You will love it! The kefir lime flavor and aroma is just amazing and adds another dimension to your broth!
Idk how it changed, but we used say that you “toast” with a drink and some people say Cheers!, but in other places they say Skol!, etc. now people call toasting , cheering. Weird
Emo A ‘toast’ is when you dedicate the moment to a specific thing (for example someone whose birthday it is). Cheers, Prost, Skol, Jamas etc all mean the same thing, but in different languages. Skol is just the Scandinavian word for cheers.
I love pho so much. even though im a Filipino, I grew up eating so much Vietnamese food since after my family and I would go to church, we'd eat at this Vietnamese restaurant. I haven't been there in a couple years though so watching this video helped me feel satisfied.
I mean in reality they probably did the Hawaii clip when they were filming the fish episode. Also Hawaii isn't THAT far from California, plus its technically still a state, so they don't have to worry about international flights/customs
I agree with Steven on this one. A good pho should maintain the traditional ingredients and meat. There's nothing wrong with changing it up a little bit but when pho has good brisket, tendon, beef slices etc. I think that's a winner in my books.
Pig and lady have that too. And they not mess with it. so if you want to try the traditional, go for their pho bac. Hope they have "nam" and "gau" though.
Pho Binh by Night be bringing the good pho to the masses. I wish there were more affordable pho places out there to spread the amazing dish and culture around. To keep the prices so affordable and still be able to add your own unique spin and flavor to this dish is definitely worthy
Raven dayum!! I do really love pho!! But it is shame that, there arent many good pho spot in korea. Even though its much near from vietnam than US lol.
As a vietnamese, I dont find all the other pho attractive other than pho Binh. The others are good to try, but to come back for the pho itself, maybe not. They're no longer pho anymore.
I agree. The essence of pho is it's simplicity yet deliciousness. Pho is meant tot taste like home, like something that is simple yet so beautiful. Putting all this extravagant and unnecessary ingredients can sometimes ruin the image of pho

I’ve been telling people for years that we have some of the best pho in the country because of all our beautiful Vietnamese neighbors. Shout out Houston. Great city, better people.

Their hair *_and_* shaved ice is literally them in a nutshell. Andrew is dark and a bit serious while Steven is sweet and happy and is a ball of sunshine.
And by authentic maybe they mean its because it's from a Vietnamese chef living in Vietnam? Although I don't see a problem here because all of the chefs in the video were Vietnamese
i came back to this video years later to tell you guys that e Pho Binh by Night in Houston is closing down. Its known as the best place in town so its def saddening
Hai Huynh man...I wish I was in your shoes. I've never seen pho sold in the country I live in (it's propably just rare here) and the city I live in currently doesn't have any decent sushi either ;_;
I worked at a pho restaurant for about 6 months and I always loved the dish but working there just blew up my appreciation for it!! It’s so delicious and comforting, makes my soul feel good!!
Love that you guys are featuring food from Honolulu. The local food scene is amazing. Eat anywhere outside of the tourist areas and you won't get a bad meal.
You should come to Ho Chi Minh city to try some signature food such as: The Banh Mi, Pho, Banh Trang Tron, Bubble tea, Mango shake, Roasted Pork wrapped in lemongrass and banana leaves, ... rather than trying Balut(Developing bird embryo, boiled and eaten in the shell) or the "Organ Porride"(A type of porridge eaten with Pig, Cow, Duck's organ such as:" Hearts, Livers, Lungs, Intestines,...)
As a developing country, the insurance costs are probably way too expensive for them to ever send Worth It to Vietnam (or any developing country). In fact, the only foreign countries they do visit all have a local BuzzFeed office/studio. Such as Australia & Japan.
Julie Zaagsma ehhhh if you go to the heart of china town and look around for a bit, you will find a pho restaurant that will cost less and taste amazing, like 10/10. I believe it has the best pho in Oahu, and you know it’s very good if there is a fish tank.
CentGamiGod i feel like my family and i have eaten there. Was it pho que huong? If it wasnt i suggest you go there next time! 10/10 it was definitely better than the pig and the lady
so I am binging Worth It video's and then making a list of restaurants that I want to go to. This is a good way to fuel my daydreams about life after COVID-19.

Real food not cooked dog soup
I'm kinda glad they stopped it with the classical music in the background whenever they ate the most expensive food...
In Vietnam they have the real, good pho sold on streets. They're all the same price. CHEAP.
I don't understand what "not real" about these Pho? lolz Obviously, you don't cook.
Vic Phan Obviously you dont know what *AUTHENTIC* is
@@xav3902 and you do? Have you ever cook Pho before?
@@phanincoporate I think what they mean is, its better and cheaper Vietnam, although it could be bias

These guys are so spoiled they eat the best looking food and are getting paid for it, while im here eating my ramen in my dorm.
Making pho is pretty easy and cheap if you make with your dorm mates 🤗🤗 you should try to make some bro.
Ryan Donoso
My dad owns a sushi and a pho restaurant so I get like unlimited pho and sushi
I feel you, I eat so much ramen it hurts.
Cat Proper ramen is really tasty tho....
Hai Huynh man...I wish I was in your shoes. I've never seen pho sold in the country I live in (it's propably just rare here) and the city I live in currently doesn't have any decent sushi either ;_;

I worked at a pho restaurant for about 6 months and I always loved the dish but working there just blew up my appreciation for it!! It’s so delicious and comforting, makes my soul feel good!!

Love to see chefs that are passionate about food wherever they are.
Love that you guys are featuring food from Honolulu. The local food scene is amazing. Eat anywhere outside of the tourist areas and you won't get a bad meal.
Steve Davis pho is a Vietnamese dish...
honolulu...
Lily Huynh yes, I know. Perhaps my language was unclear. I'm glad they're featuring food prepared and served in Honolulu.
Steve Davis Its served everywhere...
You live on oahu too and I know i spelt
im kinda sad no one used the word pho'nomenal
we have a resturant named that in South Australia
We also have a pho restaurant by that name in Oklahoma.
What the pho'? How didn't they use that?!
yellow jello
Actually it’s not pronounced fa. It’s more of a foe or foh. (Around that, different dialects change the way it sounds a lot of the time)
Pile of Crap It's fuh* in the most layman's English.
You should come to Ho Chi Minh city to try some signature food such as: The Banh Mi, Pho, Banh Trang Tron, Bubble tea, Mango shake, Roasted Pork wrapped in lemongrass and banana leaves, ... rather than trying Balut(Developing bird embryo, boiled and eaten in the shell) or the "Organ Porride"(A type of porridge eaten with Pig, Cow, Duck's organ such as:" Hearts, Livers, Lungs, Intestines,...)
yo i know im late but banh mi nuong muoi ot would be lit. sadly i cant find them anywhere now :((
@@holydaun7354 not popular anymore, very few places continue to provide that right now
As a developing country, the insurance costs are probably way too expensive for them to ever send Worth It to Vietnam (or any developing country). In fact, the only foreign countries they do visit all have a local BuzzFeed office/studio. Such as Australia & Japan.
My favorite’s gotta be the Banh Xeo!
.
Worth it needs their own channel
WORTH IT FRIED RICE!!!!!!!
Sure
indof
Idk where you can find a full course of fried rice
You’re very excited about fried rice
That actually doesn’t sound too bad
Finally some Vietnamese food
eh. Vietnamese food is kind of bland tho.
Effy Cook You must have never had authentic Viet food then...
Effy Cook it's far from bland mate
Hey, it's just an opinion. And I've had some very authentic Vietnamese food and still think it's bland.
Effy Cook did you put sirache or chilli oil on it or pickled onions in pho before?
i like how at 7:30 steven is talking and andrew is just quietly inhaling the pho
This is the reason I look foward to my weekend 😊
'I just want to spray this broth on myself like cologne' I can't deal with Andrew haha
Was on Oahu for half a year, ate a lot of pho, but always walked past pig and the lady. So many regrets :(
Julie Zaagsma ehhhh if you go to the heart of china town and look around for a bit, you will find a pho restaurant that will cost less and taste amazing, like 10/10. I believe it has the best pho in Oahu, and you know it’s very good if there is a fish tank.
I ate at the pig and the lady (not for their pho but other dishes) and was never impressed. Expensive for no reason. Hopefully, their pho is better.
@@yummy_dashi3577 their pho is absolutely disgusting i wanted to cry and it ruined my night
Never pick the pho spot chose by the white guy lol
CentGamiGod i feel like my family and i have eaten there. Was it pho que huong? If it wasnt i suggest you go there next time! 10/10 it was definitely better than the pig and the lady
so I am binging Worth It video's and then making a list of restaurants that I want to go to. This is a good way to fuel my daydreams about life after COVID-19.
