    How about the best and system and the great large warning lights that warn about cars coming up on your sides. On the inside of the mirror not in the mirror so you don't have to turn your head much. Also stereoscopic cameras are indirectly car protected from elements. Also drives easy like a car not a truck also engine is horizontal valued designed to slide under the car and not thru firewall in frontal collision. How about mentioning these things and who care about opening the tailgate that much. You got a button and a keyfob

    This is a great you said this was the Touring? No lane assist? Does it have the engine stop shut off when sitting at a light. I like how the Forester lets you turn that feature off. This was a great video! Thank you for sharing.

    Would have liked a larger and more modern looking infotainment screen. That said, I'm buying a Touring this weekend.

    Going in for a 2nd test drive - my only concern is the 4cyl Turbo CVT, even though the dealer will warranty the drive train for life. With these concerns I might just lease it if I decide to go with the Ascent.

    I got the 2020 Ascent Premium. Coming from having leather on a Lexus and a Toyota I’m glad to have made the switch. It’s an awesome car but I do think the touring and limited could’ve had a bit more attractive features. There really isn’t a huge difference with a premium. At 35k out the door I’m content :)

    • @born2win262
      @born2win262 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@victoriakapshaw yeah but they are pretty minimal. Will drive the same, no moonroof, same engine, aesthetically is also very similar. Like you can see the difference in trim when you look at a Toyota Rav Base and a Rav TRD, or the Hybrid.

    I typically agree with your reviews and this is no exception! Not only what you point out but....what? No wireless charging on a $45,000 vehicle? Seriously? The loaded 2020 Outback offers it as an option! Not sure what Subaru is thinking here - I'm not trashing Subaru, in fact I LIKE them a lot. Just can't comprehend why some things are there and some aren't (as you mentioned). Put all you've got on the top trim, most expensive of your vehicles - just sayin'...

    Good review, very candid and I appreciate that. Hopefully, Subaru takes heed to your suggestions. I'm curious as to why they don't have a 360 camera option like many of their competitors at that price point. Lastly, I'm an audiophile and their top trim audio system is just "okay". I'm a Subaru fan, but I wish they'd move a little more aggressively toward bolder looking exteriors. However, it's hard to argue with their success but the market with the likes of the Telluride and Palisade has moved the expectations of a 3-row SUV to new heights. As you noted, at this price point Subaru needs to move quicker in the areas of improvement noted.

    • @BachmanAutoGroupLouisville
      @BachmanAutoGroupLouisville  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the kind words, Edward. I definitely agree with the 360 system, basically all the competitors have one available. Interesting.

    Best awd all wheel drive system

    • @Ronniezim
      @Ronniezim 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AS1313 Audi’s torsen Quattro system is much better than the active AWD Subaru places on their vehicles with CVTs. Having owned two outback’s id agree that it’s much better than some of the systems that are primarily fwd, although from what I’ve seen they’re catching up (ability to predict slippage, etc).

    • @AS-zk6hz

    I agree don’t make sense... you missed one Xmode snow mud is missing... missing 8 passenger in Taurus... missing H6 turbo optional... they don’t give us options to choose just i have this buy this... i hate that they put same engine in legacy and outback i hate that all... i don’t want pay 50K in car witch has same engine as 30k car this is crazy... i own 2 Subarus i love this brand but they do wrong decisions so far ascent is woman’s suv... i can bet that with 7-8 passengers & towing 5000pound this car will not go no where... not enough hp for it...

    Ten thousand dollars to replace the CVT and the TCM out of warranty, and the reason they use CVT's is to meet unrealistic mileage standards and cost savings not long life durability.

    The reason why some things make it into some cars while not yet on the Ascent because this is the first go at building this vehicle. You do realize that from way before the first Ascent was built Subaru has contracts with its vendors and it’s not that simple to add stuff on a while when both sides agreed in contract to build a certain part the same way for years. Cmon man!

    Talking about features they excluded, you conveniently forgot to mention a 360 degree camera and head up display, features you would expect at this price point. With the Ascent's tiny display and lousy reliability you're better off looking at the Korean brands or a Toyota if you're going to spend this much money. The Outback is a better vehicle and a better value. Has Subaru forgotten about the Tribeca?
