Your video really helped me fix my blower motor issue! Apparently a mouse had made its way in the blower fan. The only part missing from your video was the back screw from the cover. This is probably the portion, like me, where I said several words children should not hear lol. Who ever designed and placed that back screw should be forbidden from vehicle design ;)
What did you use to get to that back screw? I haven't started my disassembly yet but my 2008 Avalanche isn't blowing...any advice further than on this helpful video is appreciated ✌️🤠👍

I no longer have my 99 silverado or the manual (for the wiring diagrams). If I remember correctly, it could be the fan control switch. You could check for voltage at the blower motor, the switch and the resistor pack.
I tested the blower motor plug and it was showing 12 v but still wouldnt run...then i changed the resistor and it then ran for about a week then went out...what do you think is going on?..i haven't replaced the 7 pin pigtail that plugs into the resistor and it looks like at one time had got hot.
IF BLOWER MOTOR GOES, THEY SAY SAY RESISTOR WILL FOLLOW CLOSE BEHIND. I HAVE BOTH PARTS ALREADY, WAS GOING TO RETURN the RESISTOR. REPLACED ONLY BLOWER MOTOR FOR NOW, NOT A BIG JOB. YOUR THOUGHTS ON KEEPING or RETURNING RESISTOR , ANYONE. THANKS
I have a 2001 Silverado. I switch the knobs for the AC to 1-5 but nothing blows out. Could this be the blower motor? I tried changing out the resistor thinking that it had gone bad but still no luck. No air. What do you think?
It should be the blower motor. In my 99, the resistor pack is only used on 1-4. The high fan setting is straight through. You can check for voltage at the plug where it connects to the blower motor. You should also check the fuse if you haven't already.
joezomby1 Where would you look ,down at the blower? My brother says it’s up in the dash where you control fan speed. Everything on TH-cam is under passenger side under dash.
EXCELLENT VIDEO. My problem was a short in the wiring. This demonstration got me to the source. Thank you

I used a socket connected to a 2 inch extension, the ratchet wouldn't fit.
@@joezomby1 Thanks 👍🤠👍

excellent video for someone who loves details. I love details.

Thank you!
Great video bro!
Thank you
@@joezomby1 any other Silverado related videos? I have an 04 Silverado and 04 Escalade.
Thanks for the detailed info. My blower motor burned up and smoked when it went out. No doubt what was bad. Lol
You're welcome, thanks for watching
Did you use an OEM blower motor or an aftermarket one? Reviewers have said aftermarket blower motors are very loud.
I don't recall, it was the only one the parts store had in stock.
Buy do they work?
Great video
Thank you

Mine works if you hit a big bump. Any ideas?
Sounds like a loose connection.
joezomby1 Where would you look ,down at the blower? My brother says it’s up in the dash where you control fan speed. Everything on TH-cam is under passenger side under dash.
The easiest place to check is the power connection at the blower, then the resistor pack, then the fan speed switch.
joezomby1 Thanks for reply,he thought tapping dash on left side of fan control made it run. Might be coincident with a bump.
Sounds like you already have it figured out.
Thanks for sharing.
