Invaluable information for anyone learning how to specify or replace a bearing. Great video. Interesting that I have never encountered the best method of shaft lock - #4
Great Video.
2 questions on method 4 (adaptor) -
1. Since the adaptor goes between the shaft and the inner race of the bearing, the bearing must be chosen with that gap, right?
2. Are adaptors available for a range of shaft diameters? What are they called? Where could one get them?
Also, you showed the bearing already mounted inside its housing. How was that done? Is that an interference press fit? Or are similar tools available to mount the outer race of bearings into their housings?
Would appreciate guidance.
Your content is unique. No other channel is talking about these methods. Keep it up. I learnt a lot.
Please sir can you do a video on both dia indicator and laser alignment of shaft and hub
Sorry, one more question - the set screw method would work only if the inner race projects out, wouldn't it? I don't know of bearings in which the races are of different lengths. Is there something I am missing?
